Hectic here - finished wrapping presents about 30 mins ago. Minirosa on her pallestra dh and dd1 napping. Bad news about the Baby Alive doll Nonna has decided that she wants dd1 to open it there so it will all come out the packaging so much for putting it on e bay !!!
Going to MIL for lunch and we are solo qui sta sera so have cold meats and salmone - all open packets and serve but I want dh to go out and get some cheap wine so can do vin brule - It is mega cold here. Franca glad your dd sounds as if she is on teh mend,
Christmas Flower I have to put minirosa in the marsupio when I get desperate. I also have a door bouncer that dd1 loved but we do not have any door frames that it will fit on here so I have suggested we get a moving rocker for when dh is not here as she hates being down for longer than 5 mins !!
Am at Sputnik in Wales - no holiday for us at all this winter and its the first time in about 10 years we have done nothing -we have always taken holiday in winter and only since dd1 arrived taken holiday in summer...Its going to be a long one !
Baci enorme to you all - Eat drink be merry and may you get something speciale sotto l'albero !!! XXXXXXXXXX

BUON NATALE A TUTTI Bella(s)

(okay so I copied and pasted and don't even know it that is now grammatically correct but I think you know what I mean my lovelies)

PippiCalzelunghe · 24/12/2008 20:47

yes gio it seems to me too that dd2 was born yesterday, she's almost 9 months and today while I was entertaining my friends she fell from the sofa head first onto the wood floor ! she had un po' di sangue dal naso and a fat lip poverina!! She's all right now! .

LOL at hiding the washing Xmas flower! done that too although not easy with 3 baskets overflowing - must be doing something wrong - they are always full!

Had a lovely day. Haven't put pressies under the tree yet but imagine they are an ignominous (sp?) amount. somehow I always forget that other people will bring some as well ... a disgrace methink... but cannot wait to see her lovely face big mega eyes tomorrow morning.
there's a cake, glass of milk and carrots for babbo natale e renne !

Auguri a tutte e fam ancora. enjoy. ah rosa brace yourself with MIL. Brange are you seeing SIL? we are not, thank god.

Un abbraccio to you all!

PippiCalzelunghe · 25/12/2008 22:11

Xmas all over and done with. I'm stuffing my face with Pandoro Bauli !

Am I the only one with still loads of unopened pressies under the tree? Even this year my dd1 was not interested at all . Dh and I where the ones who pushed her to open more than one and opened ours within a second! (She liked her playmobil though, pfiu!)

Hope you all had a great day!

Rosa · 26/12/2008 12:57

All done here as well DD1 opened the final few this morning when she found them!!!
Mind you we saved some for the Befana ( I had forgotten about that !!!). The Garage we bought is crap total plastic rubbish and it wont even stand straight !! The train set SIL bought is infact electric and Thomas does his own thing. It is fun to watch but obviously dd wants to 'play' with it and so I reckon it will break soon. Th doll was at Nonnas ( all the childrens presents at Nonnas were unwrapped under the tree ) and cousin No1 had a huge time as she was not centre of attention ( dd2 was !) so she behaved terribly and then insisted on opening the doll and I honestly thought she was going to break it she was shoving the spoon so hard in its mouth. She started fights with her brother and she was about 2 inches from shoving dd1 but she caught my eye and so changed her mind. Food was ok but I am glad I saved my Xmas pud and will do a xmas meal for dh and I - probably a lunchtime as dd2 in the pm is still a madam- I want to get her a rocker ( electric) as in the day she will only be tranquil in my arms or being rocked !! ( At night she sleeps ok is in the moses basket but no way in the day !)
dh gave me a wii fit - seeing as I have never used the wii since we have had it I am not sure when I will use it but I guess its a hint !!! I also got a nice gold ciondolo so he did quite well. The dds diddn't give me anything - not even a scribbled picture and he loved his !!!!!!
How did the rest of yours go ??????

Rosa · 27/12/2008 10:53

As thought train broken huge tears.... if anybody goes near ikea please please can they get me a train set + extras will pay postage. I don't want to risk another plastic disaster nor do I want to pay a fortune!!!

PippiCalzelunghe · 27/12/2008 11:30

If no one elses from italy goes (postage might be cheaper) I can get you one no problem anytime. ikea very very close by. x

francagoestohollywood · 27/12/2008 15:26

Just a quick hello and buon natale.
I have the flu and feel crap!!!
Christmas went well, despite me and dh being ill (on the 25 I was feeling crappola and then I woke up yesterday morning with a temp and the worst headache ever). The dc loved their presents (dd is now going to bed with her cicciobello bua).
So, we had planned to go to the mountians with friends on the 26th, but I obviously couldn't leave the bed. So dh and ds went. Hopefully me and dd will join them in 2 days. Though I'm still feeling shit.

Happy Cristmas to you all

Hi everyone

Xmas went well, well, there was only the 4 of us and haven't seen anyone since! nice not to have to rush, a part from having meal ready at decent time, but quite sad as no relatives/friends around, I'm from big extended family and so xmas/boxing day are always filled with uncles/aunties/cousins... hoping to have next one in italy though.

franca - hope you get better soon! luckily we all seemed to get better on time for xmas, but DD had bad windy day today, finally asleep on the chair....

DS loved the drumkit, and it's actually not as bad as I thought (once the door is closed). He's been taking off his sportacus outfit just for church and sleeping, and that's his favourite present. and DD loves her wrist rattles (only "new" presents she got, for the rest we just wrapped a few DS's old baby toys) and loved the wrapping paper obviously! we got ourselves the wii, with the intention of getting the wii fit (out of stock everywhere at the moment) so that I can get rid of baby weight and DP can get rid of him belly so that he can get back into hi new suits he's never worn!!
was meant to receive "thank-you-for-delivering-babies" present, but nothing so far (and so even more as I've been waiting for over 4 years!!)
off to finish my tea and hang the first load of washing since xmas eve , but can't wait any longer....

Rosa · 28/12/2008 10:30

Oh Franca you poor thing if it is the flu ( the big one) it sounds terrible several people I know in the Uk have it and they have been knocked out by it !
I hope you make it to the mountains.
We are almost back to normal here counting the days when dh has to go back to work thank you vice sindaco of Venice who has messed up 2 sets of families ours and our dipendente won't rant as it is complicated but it means I have 2 children now to take , do , etc etc with no help whatsoever as in nil. Many do it I know but Venice things are just that bit harder and it also means we will have to get a double buggy I cannot do shopping with pram and pedanetta and dd1 to watch ..Mind you not sure if I will get into the shops with a double ..oh for Tescos on line !!!!
DD2 also got some wrist rattles but has yet to try them !
Must go and do something as dd2 napping in her chair ..she has had a bath my solution to get her to nap in the day. She hasn't had a poo since Christmas day and am getting concerned she does wee though and is eating as normal .

Sputnik · 28/12/2008 17:37

Belated buon natale everyone, we are now back and woke up to snow this morning, in a freezing house which hasn't been heated for a week. Anyway, had a great time, it just went a bit too quick!

Rosa, I think not pooing for a few days is normal for bf babies, DD used to go over a week.

Sorry to hear you've got the flu Franca, lok after yourself.

Sputnik · 28/12/2008 18:25

Rosa if you don't have one of those swing things get one NOW, they are worth every cent! Ours was totally invaluable for parking DS in while I cooked or whatever. I'd lend you mine but not an easy thing to post.

gio71 · 29/12/2008 13:57

Franca hope you're feeling better, this year is a nightmre for illnesses it seems, everyone I know seems to be ill or have been ill.
Have had lovely lazy christmas here.Only relatives we have seen is FIL on xmas day and an aunt and cousin yesterday and it has been LOVELY just being the 3 of us lounging around doing nothing.
Rosa DS was a mare with not pooing at around the same age. Our Ped told us to use those cammomile thingys you put in the bum (cant remember name hence explanation). Worked brilliantly. We were told wouldnt harm him to leave it as well but he used to get in a real state with tummy ache so we chose to use them regularly and it sorted tummy ache and poo out straight away.

francagoestohollywood · 29/12/2008 15:40

Thank you ladies for worrying about my health . Unfortunately I have to report that I'm still feeling as if I've been run down by a train. No temperature today, but I can only manage a few minutes at a time standing up and no appetite whatsoever. Next year I'm going to get vaccinated. Not sure we'll be able to join dh and ds and friends and I feel a bit lonely.

Anyway. Glad you all had a lovely christmas day

I wonder where Brangelina's gone.

Rosa, both dc went for days without pooing when they were babies. It made ds really uncomfortable, so, like Gio, I used the microclismi alla camomilla. They worked a treat!!!

Sputnik · 29/12/2008 16:28

Poor you Franca, sorry you'll not be getting away. Is your DD better?

My DH usually gets vaccinated at work, but I just asked him and he said he hadn't bothered, as he reckoned it hadn't protected him last year . Clearly they need to work on a vaccine for man flu along with the real one.

Sputnik · 29/12/2008 16:30

Omg you guys have you seen the £ is now 97p to a euro!!!

francagoestohollywood · 29/12/2008 16:42

Lol Sputnik!!!
Dd is feeling very well and making the most of these days as an only child (mind you, I haven't seen much of her, as I've been in a comatose state and she's been playing with inlaws). In a way it was "lucky"I got ill here, otherwise I wonder how I'd have looked after the children in Milan. I can't literally walk for more than 5 mins.

so, is it time for a big shopping spree on topshop.co.uk?

OP posts:

Rosa · 29/12/2008 19:36

I am trying sooo hard to spend money on Uk websites but there is nothing left - Next , Boden , M&S, where else can I look for dd ???? I think I might do some toy buying off Amazon but with postage it does not work out that much of a saving.
Franca it sounds as if you have really got it bad. I am praying it does not hit this household - just take care of yourself.
Have 30 mins to do some cleaning dd fed and dd1 out with dh - its mega cold here today.
Minirosa had 2 mega poos yesterday pm - massive thank heavens we got to them straight away or it would have been bath fully clothed !!

PippiCalzelunghe · 29/12/2008 19:56

Oh Franca it does sound awful. poverina. I haven't had a flu like this since I was 18 years old (ecco che pippi se la chiama...). Hope you recover soon.

Rosa · 30/12/2008 09:12

My turn for the lurgy now - threw up last night and today feel as have been hit by a bus! Have a bit of febbre but nothing else so am hoping like mad its a 24 hr thing.
We were going to friends ( they live 5 mins away) and then I was doing a runner home at the first sign of dd1 becoming hyper but not sure now. As for teh zampone and lentils Blugh so idea but I would go for a precotto one to be honest then you just have to boil in the bag !!!!
Thanks for the link will have a look - we send Euros up to teh Uk for friends to use when they go away - have instructed mum to take the lot and exchange.
Pippi thanks for the offer when are you coming over ??? I will lok on Amazon when I feel like it - Dh had to go out and get some documents mega important and am hoping to spend pm in bed with the laptop or the Ken Follett I got for Xmas- DH also got me a book on baby massage might read that - or might sleep.
