...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

You could use one day to catch up on household stuff, like washing and ironing or cleaning the fridge. Put some music on and it will seem less of a chore.
Then maybe on the other day spend time having lunch with friends, browsing round shops, basically doing something you like doing that it's hard to do with the children around. And you won't feel guilty because you've spent a day doing house stuff.
Or you could join and gym and do some classes
Zeb, did he go today?

LyraSilvertongue · 21/01/2009 20:38

Btw, I don't usually go back to bed when the children are off to school. That's just an occasional thing if I'm ill or something.

Berrie · 22/01/2009 08:09

That would be nice Lyra but once school gets itself sorted out and sorts out some work for me I shall have to work.

Are you still off work today Zeb?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 22/01/2009 09:46

Nope. Back at the coalface. I have decided to wash my hands of worrying about DH until he sorts himself out. Which is really the only sane course of action.

On a positive note, I'm in discussions about a new job coming up on 1st April - I'm officially out of a job on 31st March unless the public sector can sort themselves out by then, which is, to put it politely, unlikely! Pay's rubbish, but it could be a good job, so we'll see. Errrm, it was from the toyboy!!! Which just shows you.

Berrie · 22/01/2009 10:23

What sort of job? Will it be a hefty pay cut? Will you be able to Mumsnet?

Is DH just going to wait until he keels over then?

Had a nice dream last night. Firstly was flirting with Johnny Rotton and was considering snogging him and wondering if it was worth my marriage. Then I was at a party and there was a gorgeous man with twin newborns but it was ok because his wife was in a hospice and therefore out of the picture and we were really attracted to each other and he had the twilight boys lips. We did kiss but when snogging it went a bit wrong as I can never snog in dreams it goes all cold and spitty (anyway by now he had turned into a young dh which actually was not as disappointing as it sounds) Then I was a man and I'd got a young girl pregnant and a receptionist but was still hankering after the lovely man. She was a bit put out that I didn't want a baby with her. I am wondering .
a) what does this say about me
b) should I be sharing this on here?

Right off to B&Q can I get anyone a screwdriver at all?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 22/01/2009 20:04

What exactly are you eating before you go to bed Berrie? I think you may need to seek professional help! But never stop sharing! Think of it as therapy, or at the very least, giving us all something to laugh at.

Err. Job is what you would call 'place marketing'. Which is kind of what I do already. The pay cut is pretty drastic and unsustainable, but having been told I'll be getting a redundancy payment of 1 month's salary tax free, I could just about bear it for a year, which would buy me time with finding something else and also give me more experience. I couldn't say about Mumsnet though - is that the dealbreaker?

As for DH, I expect so. I'm so angry at him now, because this just isn't all about him.

Oggsdog · 22/01/2009 20:11

Whoooooosh... whoooooosh... whoooooosh (sound of a tardis materialising)

Did you miss me?

Bloody electrical storm .
I was going to buy and fit a new modem today. Fortunately I decided to have one last cable shuffle and through a Sherlock Holmesworthy series of deductions managed to solve the problem all by myself.......

....the sodding connector was plugged into the wrong socket . Bloody dh! (in this instance the 'd' stands for dopey)

Zeb, any news? Did ds go back to dh today?

Berrie, I'm undecided. Your fancy man is a bit erm... odd looking. An acquired taste methinks...

Berrie · 23/01/2009 07:59

Ah well I never fancy anyone's blokes either. Actually he is odd looking, I think you have to see the film. It's more about his character than him. I fancied him in the book and it wasn't him if you understand me.Dh has downloaded the dodgy opy for me. Dodgy because it's been filmed from the screen in the cinema. Doesn't look like a great copy tbh but I'll burn it and see if it would be better to wait for the proper one.

I'm in lust, you could have pretended!

Berrie · 23/01/2009 08:14

Oh yes, nice to see you!

Oggsdog · 23/01/2009 08:41

Nice to be back

In some photos he reminds me of Joaquin Phoenix which is a good thing, so there is a possibility that I may be able to come around to your way of thinking without too much persuasion

Berrie · 23/01/2009 09:24

Hows the weather for you all?

Rain, sleet, snow, rain here. Urgh!

Off to a meeting this morning and have a lesson this afternoon. What are you up to? Any weekend plans?

Oggsdog · 23/01/2009 10:13

Light dusting of snow and blue sky here .

Dd at riding stables for 3hrs tomorrow so I'll drive to library to return books (1hr each way to this particular one) then back to pick her up. Other than that no plans as yet.

Berrie · 23/01/2009 11:06

Flipping hec! That's a long way, not sure I could be bothered! (Twilight available in the supermarket at the moment! )

Oggsdog · 23/01/2009 13:34

Blimey! That's quick - it's not been at the pictures that long has it?

There's a play on in London that I'd love to see... Three Days of Rain. No chance though

It is very poignant compelling thought provoking has got Nigel Harman and James McAvoy in it .

Berrie · 23/01/2009 15:37

No the book!

Berrie · 23/01/2009 15:38

Don't know who those people are but I am sure they are gorgeous, not at all odd looking and that you have exquisite taste!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 24/01/2009 11:44

What people? I'm confused.

Berrie · 24/01/2009 12:19

These people!
Nigel Harman and James McAvoy

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 24/01/2009 12:23

Ooh. Saw both of them last night. Separately, but still. Nice, but neither's rocking my boat.

And before you ask. No, he still hasn't been to hospital. I'm now just blardy furious. If he keeps this up I may just file for divorce on the spot and leave Cornwall for good. With DS.

Berrie · 24/01/2009 16:05

I've no idea who either of them are.

Sorry Zeb but what a knob. Does Ds know how to dial 999?

Oggsdog · 24/01/2009 19:49

He's probably doing a head-in-the-sand and thinking that if he doesn't acknowledge it then it will go away.

What do you mean you saw them both last night?

Berrie, James McAvoy and Nigel Harman.

Berrie · 25/01/2009 08:02

Still don't know who they are and the second one appears to have just sneezed, someone get him a tissue!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 25/01/2009 08:13

There aren't enough words to describe what I'm thinking about DH right now. None of them nice.

Noooo, I didn't really see them. Doh! I watched Becoming Jane and some daft sitcom on Channel 4 which had Nigel Harman playing a dopey but handsome PE teacher. Or something. Becoming Jane was better.

Today shall be spent finally writing my cv. Anyone want to give me a job or suggest how I can earn lots of money?

LyraSilvertongue · 25/01/2009 13:55

James McAvoy was Robbie in Atonement Berrie. Have you seen it? The book's better than the film (as always).
Zeb, I'm giving DH a virtual kick up the backside for you.

Berrie · 25/01/2009 17:43

I've read the book but didn't see the film. Thanks though, actors then (of course)

Sorry Zeb, no ideas!
