Mentioned in another thread, someone admitted to liking Tony Blair (you know who you are), and just wondered if there was any other non obvious people whom we have crushes on. I must admit to liking Quinten Willson, I am sure others will come to me later.

Definitely Monty Don, but also Eric Idle and the actor who played a ?Cornish Detective on telly a couple of years back. Grey hair, quiet type, someone will know who I mean!!

I recently bought an ex-rental copy of "Being John Malkovich" for 2.99, and although the film is absorbing, he is NOT!!!

EmmaTMG · 29/01/2003 13:28

John Travolta as Danny Zucco in Grease but not so much now...he's abit too much Captain America for me nowadays.

bundle · 29/01/2003 13:34

Rageh Omah, one of the BBC's reporters (in Baghdad at the moment!)

Bobbins · 29/01/2003 14:04

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, even if he does cook some inedible dishes, usually involving innards.

lou33 · 29/01/2003 14:11

John Travolta in any shape way or form for me!

Bobbins · 29/01/2003 14:12

in fact I think the only celebrities I fancy are weird

star · 29/01/2003 14:19

I'll second that Yul bryner and what about Lee Van Cleef? Michael Palin smiled at me once crossing the road by trafalgar square ne ne ne -well I was staring at him, such a nice man .That was just before I slipped over on some ice in the middle of the road.Jack Straw is quite cute??

breeze · 29/01/2003 14:24

eamon holmes too

OP posts:
star · 29/01/2003 14:31

BREEZE-can I just stop you there! Go and have a lie down please I don't think you're feeling too good.
And Michael Palin has been married for a long time-I'm sure he hasn't had any affairs.

sis · 29/01/2003 15:31

It isn't weird to fancy Monty Don is it? He's lovely with a gorgeous voice mmmm

clucks · 29/01/2003 15:33

Anyone still remember Richard Clayderman..blonde flicks and blue eyes, Ahh

clucks · 29/01/2003 15:34

I just forgot to mention, Martin Shaw definitely. Not during the professionals with that dreadful perm but since having aged and doing all the judge/police stuff.

I think it's the cheekbones that get me.

EmmaTMG · 29/01/2003 15:42

breeze-is there another Eamon Holmes or are you talking about the GMTV one?....I think you definatley need to lie down and think about what you've admitted to.

Jaybee · 29/01/2003 15:45

Not weird (well I don't think so!!) but I think the chap on the BBC7 ads is pretty gorgeous - the one reading poetry who gets his face washed by the window cleaner - anyone know who he is.

breeze · 29/01/2003 16:11

Yes okay i agree i need to lie down, hopefully with one of those mentioned before. (don't tell DH), i'm not saying i fancy the pants off them, just that they have a little something, i used to fancy des o'conner as well. oops

OP posts:
EmmaTMG · 29/01/2003 16:14

OH MY GOD!!! DES O'CONNER! Breeze, you need help!

batey · 29/01/2003 16:19

Umm...Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall.??!!

breeze · 29/01/2003 16:23

I said i used to fancy him, about 10 years ago, he did look quite cute, somebody, anybody out there please help me, did/does anyone fancy des o'connor, (wish i never started this thread now, wish i had of asked about ds poo or something)

OP posts:
Frieda · 29/01/2003 16:24

Yes, star ? me, too, for Michael Palin. But I'd like to know how you can be so sure about his marital fidelity from a fleeting smile on a zebra crossing. Wish I could be so insightful

Bozza · 29/01/2003 16:31

Breeze - DES O'CONNOR - NO!
Agree with whoever mentioned Alan Hansen though...

happydays · 29/01/2003 16:31

Dare i say it..........simon cowell.

Frieda · 29/01/2003 16:48

In breeze's defence, I do think Des seems like a "nice person". Simon Cowell, however.... Sorry, happydays. Just Not My Type.

prufrock · 29/01/2003 16:51

Ok breeze and happydays. There are some things you can admit on mumsnet - your infidelities, sexual problems, general crapness as a mother. But admitting to having a crush on des O connor or Simon Cowell! Honestly - I think tech should delete these posts as offensive.
(Totally agree on new incarnation of Martin Shaw though - and John Thaw always did something for me)

Zoe · 29/01/2003 17:52

Michael Buerk from BBC News

hides head in shame

genia · 29/01/2003 18:14

Breeze
My vote goes to Alan Hansen as well - well dressed, beautiful face, fit body, lovely voice and accent, and seems to be in love with his wife from what I have seen in interviews, which I always find attractive!
Yes to Louis Theroux as well (kind of, a bit geeky)...
Definitely John Travolta - especially when he dances which unfortunately is not often enough in his later films
