I have just seen this mornings headlines. Is this true about Zoe and Norm? Does anyone know if there is a grain of truth in there?

How old is Woody? 2ish?

This is really sad for the little boy.

Um - which paper? They couldn't possibly have made up that quote, could they?

breeze · 27/01/2003 17:14

Not too sure it was as i was walking through asda this morning, star i think. No if it is in the paper then it must be true

janh · 27/01/2003 17:33

Yep, you're right, the Star NEVER makes anything up!

happydays · 27/01/2003 17:38

JanH, is your real name Zoe by any chance lol

breeze · 27/01/2003 17:42

janh, the papers do make me laugh with there so called 'a close friend said' etc etc, i saw her on the front page in her undies, but it must have been an old picture, as if she would take time out to be photographed.

Happydays, i think that janh is protective because she likes her, i get the same over victoria beckham.

janh · 27/01/2003 17:59

IKWYM, breeze, they should be writing fairy stories really. (You're right about being protective and I am the same about VB too!)

happydays, I wish!

You know, it strikes me that suddenly Zoe Ball is all over the papers again after being persona non grata for ages - just as she's got a couple of new projects coming up...hmm, call me cynical? Well I was reading my Mum's Now magazine, which had the Ball/Slim stuff splashed all over the front, but the obviously do up the pages towards the back yonks in advance because the "Where are they now" feature was on - yup, Zoe Ball. The irony of reading that when her marriage problems (note: problems, i.e., not irretrievable once she's famous again) are all over the cover.

I just have this vision of someone in PR going "Right, Zoe, what can we do to get you in everyone's minds again - shoplifted anything lately? You and Norm having any problems??"

aloha · 27/01/2003 19:16

A 'close friend' is usually newspaper code for the person themselves talking to the reporter, actually! However, 'an onlooker' is always the writer themselves (eg, 'they were all over each other in the restaurant', an onlooker said).

I would think the Zoe pix and quote were both quite old. At least two to three months.

janh · 27/01/2003 19:28

Zoe, you old cynic!

Reminds me of the bit in Heat about John Leslie leching after some girl at an awards presentation the same week the Ulrika book was front page. (Not quite the same of course....)

Certainly the pic I saw was not only old but unflattering and she looked quite sulky in it. I can't believe she had anything to do with any of it. (Naive, I know, I just can't bring myself to believe that she's changed so much from how she seemed when they got married. She was such a good role model for the daughters!)

star · 28/01/2003 08:33

Just how long should you be married to a man who wears the same annoying shirt day in day out???
I believe Tom Jones has been married to the same woman for yonks.

Enid · 28/01/2003 09:10

Ooh, now its Jude and Sadie too.

gosh2 · 28/01/2003 09:15

Old Sex Bomb TJ may have been married to the same woman for years, but he has had numerous affairs. Perhaps wifey thought the cash and the lifestyle is better than back home in the Valleys (with the horizontal rain.)

Going back to the Zoe thing, I think it was very irresponsible of her, a mother out having an affair. I have been out with girlfriends and have felt uncomfortable if some guy chats to us. Because I think, I am someones mother, and someones wife, this chat up stuff is really quite sleazy. Now I dont go out with girlfriends who dont have children as they dont understand how I can feel uncomfortable, when before I was married I led a pretty similar boozy life to them, and Zoe. It's just something you grow out of? (I think.) Also Zoe needs to grow up, she is a mother she should be setting an example. Phew!

What's the story with Jude & Sadie? The Today programme didnt' give it much coverage today! I always thought she was smug and talentless...

bells2 · 28/01/2003 10:54

Apparently he's been a serial shagger for years.

Marina · 28/01/2003 11:15

I usually really try hard not to think base thoughts about celebs, but the chance to agree utterly about Sadie's talentless mediocrity and smugness is too good to pass up. She has driven me nuts for so long...but still v. sorry indeed for the children if all this is true.

WideWebWitch · 28/01/2003 15:21

bells, who's been a serial shagger for years? Norman Cook, Tom Jones or Jude Law? Or all 3? Have to say Jude Law doesn't do it for me, too pretty.

breeze · 28/01/2003 16:55

www, are you saying that norman cook and tom jones do it for you?

star · 28/01/2003 17:49

Ugh,the thought of it.That reminds me when did you last see a really gorgeous man walking around safeways? Why are there so many ugly looking men around and where have the nice ones gone?

bells2 · 28/01/2003 17:51

WWW, Jude Law. No idea if it's true or not. Just cheers me up when I see Sadie looking all smug,

Zoe · 28/01/2003 18:07

Sorry to be back with my cynical attitude on celebs, but what does Sadie Frost DO? I remember her in Dracula, but nothing else - I know she designs undies as well... If she and Jude split up, will she be known for anything at all?

janh · 28/01/2003 19:46

For having split up with Jude Law!

aloha · 28/01/2003 20:37

And isn't that bloke that Zoe has been shagging the ugliest man on the planet? Those TEETH! Mind you, in those sunday times photos she looks EXACTLY like Yootha Joyce in George & Mildred.

Zoe · 28/01/2003 20:39

I felt awful after posting my last post in case Sadie is a mum here - after all there could be famous mums on mumsnet, we all need advice and support! Sadie, if you are here, sorry, but it was a valid question, honestly. Feel free to tell us the other films and stuff you have done. I am a bit ashamed of myself

Zoe · 28/01/2003 20:39

Ooops that was supposed to be an embarrassed face not a cheesy grin!

WideWebWitch · 28/01/2003 20:45

breeze, NO, the others don't do it for me either mind you, I've admitted to fancying Tony Blair in the past, although don't now he's bent on war. Bells, thanks for clarification. Wouldn't surprise me if all were though.
