Does anyone else feel uneducated after reading threads on MN?

Since having children I seem to have the attention span of a gnat. I didn't go to university and am far too easily swayed by a good argument.

Some of the posters on here make me with their depth of knowledge, reading and analysis and their ability to argue a point.

Hats off to you - I've learnt an awful lot on here.

Was it a good read collision?!

tarantula · 28/01/2005 15:42

And you know what they say 89.3% of all statistics are made up on the spot

lunavix · 28/01/2005 15:46

I can't follow half of them, the code on the ttc thread gives me headaches!

twiglett · 28/01/2005 15:53

lunavix as a past expert on the ttc thread ... which ones don't you know?

marthamoo · 28/01/2005 16:24

There are some scarily clever people on here. I tend to avoid those threads where my ignorance will shine out like a beacon For the same reason I avoid the spanking, whips, handcuffs etc. threads where sexually experienced types like lou33, specedonkey, beety and FF bandy phrases about which I simply don't know the meaning of

Btw, University doesn't mean anything - one of the most intelligent people I know is my Dad, and he didn't go to University. I spent too many nights in the Student Union watching so-called intellectual students blow up condoms and wear them as hats to be overly impressed by a degree.

twiglett · 28/01/2005 16:28

did they also do the 'how many copper coins can you fit in your foreskin?' or was that just in my uni bar?

twiglett · 28/01/2005 16:28

32p was the record IIRC

beansprout · 28/01/2005 16:28

OMG! (and what was the record?)

morningpaper · 28/01/2005 16:29

How To Sound Bright:

  1. buy a paper everyday
  2. memorise the editorials
  3. repeat the editorials to all your friends, pretending that they are your own original ideas

You need to leave a few days between 2. and 3. because otherwise people who read the same paper as you might realise your cunning technique.

beansprout · 28/01/2005 16:29

Surely that is very unhygenic?

beansprout · 28/01/2005 16:30

MP - I suspect dp does thar!!

mrsflowerpot · 28/01/2005 16:30

lol. I imagine that if you are prepared to see how many coins you can fit in there you are not that preoccupied with the hygiene aspect.

morningpaper · 28/01/2005 16:30

Beansprout: I hope you are referring to reading the papers rather than stuffing coins up his foreskin?

mrsflowerpot · 28/01/2005 16:31

I wondered that too

beansprout · 28/01/2005 16:31

!!!!!!!!

beansprout · 28/01/2005 16:32

Is that why they call it the "money shot"?!!!

twiglett · 28/01/2005 16:35

they were med students / dentists .. I think that explains a lot

lou33 · 28/01/2005 16:40
