men - annoying habits

This might have been covered before, but my DH REALLY annoys me by cutting his toe-nails and leaving them in his bed-side cabinet, he has about 2 inchs in there now, he says i am nagging and there are alot worse annoying habits out there, are they?

oh another one, when he tidy's up, all he actually does is put everything in the nearest drawer, cupboard.

i am known to exaggerate a little, probably about 50 clippings, still gross though

My hubby's idea of tidying up is putting everything into neat little piles on the sideboard, coffee table, fire guard it really bugs me!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my dh's annoying habits is making something in the kitchen and not putting everything away when hes done. Especially leaving bread bags open after making a sandwich. Who likes stale bread. My biggest complaint is sending him to the store with a small grocery list (maybe 10 items at the most) and him always forgetting something on it. So irritating.

he isn't keeping them in anything, just the drawer, he says its better that walking on them.
i can see his point a bit because when you use those clippers they do fly across the room, but still no excuse for not bining them.

Oooh, where to start? seeming to be incapable of cleaning the shower after himself, spending 25 minutes sitting on the 'throne' while I'm madly dashing around getting myself ready for work, ds ready for nursery, feeding the cat, clearing up breakfast, emptying the dishwasher (what do men DO in there? No, on second thoughts I'd rather not know). Changing the channel on the TV/radio in a unilateral fashion assuming that, because I'm multitasking with all those household chores he doesn't get involved in, I'm not listening/watching. Saying "Ooh, I had such a dreadful night's sleep when he was snoring for a good seven hours and didn't even notice me going in to DS TWICE!...

RosieT - I think dh is a bigamist!! Are you sure that is not my dh you are married to - why do they take so long in the loo??? Ds is the same - will sit in there for ages - I think it is just a way of hiding from us while we just sits and reads in peace!!
I will not start on a list of those little annoying habits he has - we will be here for months!!

yeah, mine in the loo for ages, i agree they probably need a bit of peace and quiet, and lets face it we are not going to go in there are we!!!.

oh thought of another one, why when we are watching something enjoyable on telly, as soon as the adverts appear he has to flick channels, what's that about, i mean he is watching something so he isn't looking to watch something else.

he probably enjoys the 'we're going to miss it' rows.

breeze-at least they are in a drawer, my dp leaves a pile of them on the arm of the sofa!!! And kitchen cupboard doors are always left open, why??? I could go on but on the plus side he has been warming my side of the bed the last couple of nights, bless!

3angels yes, why do men do this with the bread and jam? Do they think the magic fairy wil come round and tidy up after them? (Sad to say she does). My DH leaves all his clothes in a big pile every night, tops and jeans to be worn again along with dirty socks and that day's work shirt. Then every so often (usually when I "nag" ) he "sorts it out" and it all ends up in a huge pile in the laundry basket and he says things like why don't I have anything clean to wear? Grrrr! Is he alone??

Putting EVERYTHING that I use on a regular basis on the top shelf! (He is 6'3", I am 5'4".)

I climb up on a chair, get the coffee filters down, put them back on the lower shelf (he doesn't even drink coffee), next morning they are at the top again!

Files the mail before I've gotten it. Feeds DD hotdogs every night if I don't get home to feed her first. Rolls around in bed like a rotisserie chicken, taking all blankets with him. NEVER gets up at night when dd cries (which is often lately - molars!).

And so many, many more...sigh!

Giovanna1 - mine used to do that too - he is 6'4" and I am 5'4" - my tea bags were alwys on the top shelf. I would nag him into making me my tea and he had decided to put them out of my reach he will have to make it!! Re. the waking in the night - jab him in the back and tell him you have been up twice already - when dd starts to get better - jab him in the ribs first time but tell him that you have been up twice already - he will never know that you haven't

jaybee , good one i must remember that one, usually when dh goes to see ds he normally says 'not you, mummy', but definately worth a try.

He claims that he cuts his toenails frequently, fortunatley he does bin them. But if they are cut so often why do his socks get holes in after just one wear? I've even sat a darned them in an attempt the strengthen the damn things but to no avail. He has claw nails and they make me want to puke!
It's his birthday next week and guess what he's getting?.....

My Dh also sit on the loo for ages, don't know why as our loo is the size of a shoe box!!! Another one is after I have bathed the baby, I pass her to DH, while I sort the other two out, and when I come down she is just crawling around in a nappy, whats it take to put her PJs on?????

I believe that he thinks that the loo and the bath also clean themselves!!!!!

And how come he get a lie-in on his days off but I am up at 6AM EVERY morning??????? I have tried to get him up but he just acts deaf and carries on snoring!!!!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

mieow, mine sleeps in on his day off as well, i wouldn't mind but our ds usually sleeps from 6 pm - 8-9 am, so its like what 10 hours not enough sleep for you darling.
For the record i do not seem to be painting a very good picture of my dh, i might add that at so many things he is brilliant, but ......

Today when my three year old son wanted me to go and get his cup I said " Get it yourself, I'm not your slave " to which he replied , quite seriously "yes you are"

For all of you who's DH's sleep in when we all have to get up. Try this:
Take the duvet completely off and give his backside a big slap....it always works for me. If this doesn't work jst take the duvet off and take it downstairs with you! He'll soon get up then!!!

Mieow, the number of times DH has "forgotten" to put DS2s PJ bottoms on is incredible! How can anyone possibly forget something like that???

EmmaTMG, you're a cruel woman But I'll store that away for future use. Mind you, he does get up before me during the week.

...and the number of times he's offered to make me a cup of tea, then half an hour later I storm into the kitchen to find a lukewarm teabag stewing slimily in a cup of semi-hot water while he reads the paper, and he tells me it's "just brewing" !
