What's the best radio Breakfast Show in the UK

I get in every morning listens to the Capital Breakfast Show in the UK with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby. Probs the breakfast show people know off. I didn't really like Jordan North when he joined (he took over from Roman Kemp and was a big fan of roman and even when jordan joined still did like chris and sian) but he grew on me slightly. People think it's the best breakfast show ever but others like different shows.

So i'm curious to know, What's your favrouite breakfast show on UK Radio. Maybe you have kids and they laugh their way to school, or you work early to mid morning and you have something on at work. Just wondering

I listen to Greg James on Radio 1 on my way into work.
I'm definitely not their demographic (I'm in my 40's) but have been listening since I was a teen, going all the way back to the Steve Wright days.

Greg is funny, I like keeping up to date with music, and I suppose it's a bit of a comfort blanket for me. My kids hate it, they prefer me to put on HeartXmas (currently) or Absolute Radio 90's.

Radio X Chris moyles
Will probably switch back to radio 2 when Scott mills takes over
I do like Zoe ball but couldn't stand her on the radio

Cool fm with Pete, Paulo and Rebecca. It's the biggest breakfast show in Northern Ireland.

Has to be Jordan, Chris and Sian for me! DH favours Magic..

I like heart breakfast with jamie and Amanda. Though Jamie has been off a while so it's JK but still my preferred. I may give scott mills a try when he starts on radio 2 though. I do like radio 1 when Matt and Mollie cover Greg james too

FacingTheWall · 23/12/2024 03:56

Chris Moyles on Radio X.

6 Music, Lauren Laverne’s usual show although she’s been taking some time off as she’s ill so Nick Grimshaw has been covering.

I might give radio 2 a try once Scott Mills starts, I wasn’t keen on Zoe Ball’s show.

I gave Chris Moyles a go recently and thought I’d stepped into a time warp, it’s the same show he did on radio one 20 years ago - guess if it’s not broke don’t fix it 🤣

Snozzlemaid · 23/12/2024 06:21

Always listen to Chris Moyles on RadioX here too.

WaneyEdge · 23/12/2024 06:24

Rossie on Greatest Hits. Used to be Christian O’Connell on Absolute 80s, miss him and Richie.

menopausalmare · 23/12/2024 06:27

LBC with Nick Ferrari.

Greg James is a proper hero, he's not try hard, he's funny, intelligent and really really kind. He's a big brother to the yoof. I'm really old, but he's got something quite unique. Having said that, the music has been quite shit lately, so I'm looking forward to flicking over to Scott Mills, who was crap in the afternoon, but brilliant at breakfast lately. Can't stand adverts.

Chris moyles radio x.

If I am driving to work I listen to Radio Leeds. If I am WFH I often have Radio 2 on.

Aworldofmyown · 23/12/2024 06:34

Greg James on Radio 1.

Yes, and then switch OFF when James O'Brian hits. Cannot abide him.

Radio X. Did warm to Zoe the last year or so, but will not be listening to SM, I think he's a shocking DJ - endlessly self promoting, always off and that ridiculous "Love you, bye" gives me the rage.

WingBingo · 23/12/2024 06:58

Chris Evans Virgin Radio.

I know he has a reputation but his show is great.

Christian and Richie were the best. I still listen to Dave but he’s never been as good.

Yep, love Lauren Laverne and looking forward to her coming back in the New Year.

I think people are just trolling Chris Hawkins now with his 'Names in Songs'... and maybe he knows they're making them up and lets it go because he thinks it's good radio... I don't find it as hilarious as he does...

Thegreenandpurpleone · 23/12/2024 07:07

A combination of Greg James on Radio 1, Rossie on Greatest Hits Radio and Absolute Radio 90s (latter has great music but the giggling presenters a bit annoying) for me through the week, depending on if I’m commuting or wfh.

This. I really enjoy his show.

greengreyblue · 23/12/2024 07:12

Was listening to Chris Evan’s on Virgin but he’s turned into some health guru and it got a little boring. Also they brag about their lifestyle a lot and it’s obvious how minted he and Vassos are. Makes you feel a bit shit. Now listen to Rossie ( Simon Ross) on Greatest Hits and he’s such an easy listen in the morning with his lovely Irish accent.

It’s unbelievable that he keeps being given the big jobs. I just don’t get it. I’ve tried but it’s just dull.

greengreyblue · 23/12/2024 07:19

Would add that my natural state was radio 2 but there’s nobody left that I like! I grew up with Terry Wogan. Then we listened to Chris Evan’s when the kids were small but Zoe Ball ‘ gorgeous girl’ just was too much in the mornings. Then the fab Steve Wright went who as such a comfort blanket for me,. I do listen to Lisa Tarbuck on a Saturday night when I’m cooking and Sara Cox in the week in the kitchen but that’s it now.

Edited

DH has Rossie on the radio alarm - it doesn’t work for me as his lovely calm tone makes me fall back to sleep. I need something a bit harsher to wake me up.
