Just setting this up in good time so we can link to it before we lose each other...

For starters, depending on which part of Lincolnshire you would look at, London is about 21/2 hours on the train. I bet you're about that away from London now?

Secondly, Lincolnshire is just over the Humber bridge from meeeeeeeeee

Thirdly, parts of Lincolnshire are so absolutely bloody gorgeous, that you would be so lucky to bring up your family there.

Fourthly, You could probably afford an absolutely HUGE house for your money - and that's got to be worth something

Does Mr. Fred need to be in the twonky stockbroker belt? Or can he realistically be anywhere?

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 11:27

I have seen houses around stamford for example (and that is 65 mis to KingsX on train0.

I love Lincs..it's where i was born [proud emoticon]

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 11:43

well, if you see any Lincs houses that you want an impartial observer to look round on your behalf, feel free to ask.

It would be a reeeeeeal hassle for me, as I am soooooo busy, but I'd do it.

For you

marmitemad · 20/03/2008 11:49

morning all,
went out to chinese last night and had a good time so am glad I went. My pg friend didn't make it as she had ds2 while we were all in the pub , about 10mins after she got to hosp .

just got back from swimming and MIL has rung to see if we wanted to meet for lunch so am just off to M&S

be back later...................

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 11:49

thanks Squonk!!

Are your littlies dressed yet?

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 11:55

marmite - did you have a good time? good news about your friend - I suppose you were worrying whether anyone's birth was going to go smoothly...

have fun with the MIL

fred - dd2 decided she didn't like the clothes I got out, so they have gone upstairs to choose their own so god knows what they'll come down with...

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 12:07

for your amusement, dd2 is wearing:

pink jogging bottoms with a white stripe down the side - about two inches too short
yellow top with a pink picture of a sweet shop on the front
pink body warmer
one yellow sock
one pink sock (she doesn't want to wear matching socks today)
one pink and one yellow bobble in her hair.

ds is wearing blue jogging bottoms, his orange striped tee shirt and a long sleeved top on top of that. He looks slightly smarter than dd2, but there's not much in it

Hello girls you lot are being very chatty (except Phono ). Fred new house sounds v exciting. I often think if we moved to a different area we could get such a nice house, but DH does need to be within commuting distance of London and does not want to be north of London as even further from his parents (sounds perfect in my opinion). So where we are is 1.5hrs door to door for him (55 mins from Winchester to Waterloo on train), but it is not much cheaper than London (but is nicer ).

Anyway, the babies did an hour at nursery today. Was gutting as they pretty much slept the whole time but it meant I could go and get some shopping done before I collected them. They had to be brought down to me so DS1 didn't see me and wonder why I wasn't taking him too . They will do another hour next Thurs and then start officially the Monday after that I think.

Am trying to get them into a sleep pattern in day as normally they just doze here and there but have taken them to bed as they have been awake most of morning (apart from when at nursery....).

Got my parents coming tomorrow for two nights, and DH is taking DS1 to his parents for two nights! Will seem like a holiday not having DS1 here but will miss him a lot. Good tho as means DH can see his parents and I don't have to endure it too!!

Then they are back Sunday lunchtime and my sis and family are coming here for day too.

Marmite I will be v near you on Monday possibly as may be going to Legoland unless it is peeing with rain.

Marmite is it tomorrow night you are having the night in with wine with your SIL? I think it sounds like such a good plan and so good that she has suggested it herself as am sure it will help her talk about Eris and I think tears are pretty much guaranteed from everyone but so glad she wants to see you and other close friends rather than shut you out.

DD is crying. Have been in to her once and seen if she needs to burp. She keeps crying then nodding off then crying again etc.

Squonk DS1 told me he was cold this morning too. But yet he refused to wear a jumper and keeps removing his socks (he has only just learnt how to do this so is very pleased with himself). He also pretty much refused breakfast and in fact threw his bowl of weetabix on the floor (cue slap on arm from me, which I haven't done in aaaages and instantly regretted but I was so cross with him). So then he burst into tears and I felt awful, but he was just being sooooooooooooooooooo naughty. Anyway, we said sorry and had a cuddle. Then I had to clear up the mess of weetabix which was not fun. Esp as I spent ages cleaning up projectile baby sick last night.

Right have to get house in order before parents arrive tomorrow.

P.S. Did anyone see the incest item on Phil n Fern ????

Squonk! I am impressed with DD2. At least it is all colour coordinated.

DS1 is wearing pale blue t-shirt and beige cords, with blue and grey monkey socks. No jumper. No sleeves even...

Babies are wearing sleepsuits, both white today, and white vests too. And grobags.

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 12:41

dd2 went and sat in her ham and mayonnaise sandwich

So is now wearing green trousers with the yellow/pink combo.

sounds like you have a full weekend coming up, egg

dd2 staying out tonight at a friend's house, then on Saturday it's dd2's party (not dd2's party, her friend's party, but ykwim) On Sunday we're off to visit family and will probably come home on MOnday via Manchester where we'll visit some more family.

Then I've just the rest of the fortnight to get through

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 12:45

We are heading up to Lincolnshire to house hunt see my folks this weekend...

Egg, how did you come to the arrangement where DH would dispapear with ds1? Do your parents not mind missing him (ds1..well or DH)?

oops..that bloody lighteing fast double click

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 13:37

well, we're heading to Cumbria this weekend, or else I'd have been after meeting up with you, fred

Egg · 20/03/2008 13:46

Ah but DH and DS1 are back for lunch on Sunday so will have whole family together for the afternoon. I think they are quite looking forward to seeing the babies on their own as DS1 is so lively etc it is hard to concentrate on babies if he is around, so they get the best of both worlds!

Strangely, babies have been up in bed for nearly 2 hours and are sleeping v well! No more crying etc and all seems good! Now I just want to be able to watch Neighbours before they wake up.

It took 6 months before I could get DS1 to take a lunchtime nap properly...

Fred I was watching Escape to the Country the other day in Lincolnshire and it was beeeeeyootiful. Whereabouts are your family (I think you did say before but I forget ).

Squonk sounds like your weekend is even busier than mine. At least I am staying put except for maybe Monday. Weather is supposed to be ATROCIOUS.

NEIGHBOURS has started

OMG!!! Now we are having probs with the wedding venue and Mr Fred has threatened cancellation!!!

They said we could have a narquee if our numbers grew..we instructed them to get one yesterday and they have said no. Because they have a regular booking there on a Thursday daytime that might be disturbed the the erection..(of the marquee of course).

Life is stressful to the max at the mo

Tell them to eff off. If they said you could have one then they should honour that. Of course it is probably not in writing anywhere so not sure what you could actually do. Would you consider moving venues now?? Would you find somewhere else at this fairly late stage?

Do not envy you all this stress and planning. Planning a wedding is lots of fun but not when it doesn't go to plan. Looking at houses is lots of fun but actually moving is a bit more stressful. Saying that I found the build up to moving quite stressful but the actual move was fine. DS1 made it a bit harder as he wanted to run round everywhere and get in the way and it was peeing down so couldn't take him to swings etc to keep him happy, plus I was 16 weeks pg so knackered and miserable..........

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 14:07

I am frantically searching for a backup plan but the trouble is we would have to change our notice of marriage etc if we got a venue down here now...and there may not be a registar available at such short notice!!!

Mr Fred is saying money is no longer such an issue and we can get somewhere better maybe later in the year..but I want THAT venue but with a marquee ...
Moving I am use dto Egg, don't like it now i have to worry about everyone else, but as a singleton and when the elder two were little I moved loads of times...can't even remeber all the places i lived in ...

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 14:13

what is the regular booking on a Thursday daytime? I'm sure that they wouldn't be bothered, but can understand the venue not wanting to upset them.

When I got married, I booked a gorgeous country hotel because they had lovely grounds where we could have our pictures taken. It was always understood that as soon as we arrived, we would be having our pics taken in the grounds because the church was one of those moderny nissen hut type ones.

So, we arrived, and they said that as there was another wedding going on, we couldn't use the grounds for photographs.

I was not having that.

I picked up my meringuey dress and marched across the gardens, found a nice spot and shouting across to everyone else "are you coming then?" well, I was the bride, they couldn't exactly not!

Saw the other wedding people later, who said that they had absolutely NO objection at all, and it was nice eating their dinner whilst watching us lot having our pics taken (they felt like an old, indulgent married couple as they had been married for about an hour longer than us )

Of course, none of this helps you, fred, I just wanted to share.

Could YOU ring them and explain that you really want your wedding at their place, but if they don't let you have the marquee, you will HAVE to go somewhere else and it will not be the same and.... (cry a little if you have to) perhaps they'll do the decent thing...

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 14:17

Thanks for sharing that squonk ( I could really imagine you doing that too!!!)
Mr fred has been on phone to them and said what you sugested ( I suspect he missed out the crying but not certain )

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 16:07

have they changed their minds yet?

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 16:16

nope not yet....

SquonkForgotHerEasterName · 20/03/2008 16:17

do you want us all to ring them up and insist that they look after la famille fred?

Dropdeadfred · 20/03/2008 16:34

oui telephone en masse...[french emoticon]

i just can't see the problem but i think the answer will still be no...
