Anyone here work at a hooters restaurant do you have a certain body type to work there would they give a job to someone with a mum tum and stretch marks? I'm curious seen loads of plus sized women dresses up on instagram but none that seem to work there

Article here with someone saying the uniform only goes up to size medium and that staff are hired based on looks. I wouldn’t want DD working there that’s for sure!

I'm not after working there not even if I was slim and beautiful I'm just curious all iv ever seen is slim fit women seem to work there like there's no diversity I find it very discriminatory towards larger women.

They hire staff who aren’t “hooters girls”. Chefs, bar staff, hosts etc. I think there was a big case (maybe more) of discrimination which they lost, and they had to rethink their hiring practices.

I think they're skating on thin ice, as there's no requirement to be unusually fit to be a waitress (unlike occupations such as eg firefighter, military and flight attendant).

As numbers affected are so low here, then I think it needs to be tackled by individuals at tribunal. But if any sign of this dodgy practice spreading, then perhaps other action will be indicated

It's meant to be a cheerleader type look so you do need to look fit and healthy. I knew women who worked there and they were different shapes and sizes within the healthy weight range. All were 18 to 30 that I knew of.

I knew that but bigger women can also take part it's very discriminatory .

How is it any different in terms of other jobs that are looks dependant through - models, lingerie models, play bunnies.
It’s not my cup of tea, but any talk of opening of the jobs to more diversity, will likely just be lip service and nothing will change.

I am slim and fit but I doubt I would get a job either as a 40 year old GNC woman, not as a 'Hooters girl' anyway.

No other place would be allowed to discriminatinate on things like size so why hooters it's madness not to have hooters girls of all shapes and sizes.

I worked there at uni (many many moons ago) and can say then (late 90s early 2000s) there was no diversity of body types. Young, slim women only (big boobs a bonus). At the time I would have claimed to be a feminist, but my feminism looks very different now (as do I). I would not be impressed if my sons wanted to go there. The clientele (at least at that time) was pretty sleazy.
I expect they get over the inevitable discrimination claims in a similar way to say abercrombie (know they have been successfully sued though). Difficult to prove why you didn't get the job tbh, and expensive too. Slightly surprised they are still around.
I was actually thinking about this the other day as we drove past-how do strip clubs not get sued for discrimination as well?

It's shocking isn't what about those who do like a bigger body size.

I knew women working there in the 2010s. There was, I'd say, a range of sizes from a 6 to a 12, women who were a B cup and women who were much bigger, some women were curvy and some had more boyish figures. No overweight women but no older women or any with short hair either.

Its madness it's aimed mostly at men wanting to oggle all of which may have different preferences some like belly rolls and all that as well as slim toned look.

Some men would like to see men in tiny orange shorts too.

What I'm saying is that, yes they discriminate, but not just against overweight women.

My concern is the lack of diversity there's only slim women allowed to work there if the girls are 18+ it's up to them if they want to work there and be oggled but shouldn't be only somewhere that allows slim fit women only.

I saw someone on a livestream go to the UK hooters, you would only find the girls sexy if you had a fetish for American tan tights. Trust the UK to make it a bit shit lol.

There's one in Liverpool now too. It's had bad publicity by the way the manager has treated the staff.
