Parking in front of neighbours house

I have a neighbour who has no regard for others. They leave their drive free only to park in front of my house. Any advice

Do they rent? Can you report them to the landlord or housing association?

I cannot stand snobbish, curtain-twitching, busybody neighbours who view people who rent as somehow inferior to those who own their homes. Are you out of your mind, reporting somebody for doing something legal and perfectly normal to their landlord, as though they're a naughty child?

You may as well report them to the council for walking on the cracks in the pavement or for shopping at Tesco when Aldi is closer. Seriously, would you not be embarrassed, as an adult, to be running and telling tales on people who are just living their lives normally and legally?

If somebody who owned their home with a mortgage did something completely mundane and legal that you irrationally took a dislike to, would you try to report them to their mortgage lender?

But how is it benefitting them at all?

MillenialAvocado · 22/09/2023 23:16

I'm still waiting to hear how them being builders is relevant Confused

I’m not sure if this is real as you sound quite articulate yet don’t know the difference between their there and they’re ?? You bought a house on a road that anyone can park outside and paid the price that would have taken this into consideration. You do not own the road, you cannot complain. I have a drive and park on it but there is no way I would tolerate anyone telling me I can’t park my taxed and MOT regulated car on a public road.

I paid extra for a house with off road parking as I didn’t want the drama of finding a space, what others do is irrelevant to me. Those who don’t like parking in front of your house, why did you buy a house where this was a possibility? If it bothers you so much you shouldn’t have bought a house you can legally park in front of. Also, comparing it to excessive noise is irrelevant as that is not allowed between certain hours of the day and is enforceable.

If you have a drive park on it

sometimes its easier to park on the road rather than eg a drive etc

I can’t be the only one that thinks OP is a bit of a fruitcake…?

I'm half-wondering if 'builders' is a euphemism for the actual word that OP wants to use, but which would get the thread instantly deleted.

America doesn’t have ‘XL bullies’ surely? They’re pitbulls there.

Just noticed OPs last replies were a month ago.
