I thought this Netmums was for parents? I'm seeing a lot of threads where the poster doesn't have children

Title should read non-parents

Are you lost? Netmums is a different website.

Mumsnet then. Still says mum in the title

If you mean Mumsnet, it's an online forum where anyone can sign up and post. I haven't been on Netmums so I'm not sure what the rules are?

Thankyou I was getting confused. I'm sure I came here via Netmums but maybe not.

So your thread title bears no resemblance to what you actually wanted to ask 😂

Mumsnet has been going for over 20 years, and has developed into a site that covers many issues/interests - and most of them you don't have to be a parent to want to engage with.

GeraltsBathtub · 09/05/2023 13:34

Half the topics here are unrelated to parenting.

You might be glad to hear you don’t need to be a spy to post on digitalspy either.

Weird, I can't imagine posting on a forum called dadsnet when I'm not a dad.

Thankyou. I used to use it when my now 19&18 year olds were small. It's changed since I've come back to it with new baby!

My friends husband thought mumsnet was a sex site after a couple of women at his work told him about the recent sex topic debacle. He was confused as to why it was called mumsnet. 😂

I think the name does give the impression it’s a site for mums, possibly parents. It’s not til you actually see all the topics that you realise there’s chat about a lot more than parenting.

ChocChipHandbag · 09/05/2023 13:41

I went in Money Saving Expert recently.

A lot if the people on there were not remotely experts and quite a few of them had been rubbish at saving money and were going on about debts.

I felt cheated, I tell ya.

OP, the vast majority of people on Mumsnet are indeed parents, so it's not like the site won't give you what you are looking for. What's the problem for you if some people who use it are not parents?

Ah see im a great saver and penny pincher!

It isn't a problem, I was just wanting confirmation, without asking in a thread that was not a parent, didn't wanna make them feel rubbish on their thread you know what I mean?....

Sorry, hold on a moment- you think that people who are not parents should feel rubbish about that?

Hopefully not what you meant to say.

Welcome back to Mumsnet OP and congratulations on your baby!
There are all sorts here and everything is up for discussion. I love it. Hope you can find what you need.

Azealeasinbloom · 09/05/2023 14:00

Some of us on Mumsnet are trying to become parents - the conception threads may help; some of us are coming to terms with never being parents, and a lot of posters are very supportive for that. Some of us are child-free by choice and a lot of what is posted is interesting and relevant there.

Some of us may do better on Netmums, which can be a hornets nest ime.

Thankyou for the lovely way you worded this, I can't work out how to delete this thread as I have my answer now xx

You can't delete threads, you can only ask MHHQ to delete and sometimes they will and sometimes they won't.
I wouldn't worry about it staying though it'll all be forgotten about in the blink of an eye!
