You're obviously not dirty enough

nailpolish · 01/12/2004 16:20

never bw! im the same as you esp in winter its a bummer

SantaandtheReindeer · 01/12/2004 16:20

No, it isn't.

Because if it ever gets to the point of getting all the washing in the machine, then by the time it's washed, dried and put away somebody has put something else in the laundry basket.

It's just not possible, I think.

PicadillyCircus · 01/12/2004 16:22

No never.

It was nearly empty last week but then it filled again overnight.

I blame DS totally. Before he arrived just over a year ago we did two loads per week (dark and light).

Now there is always something in the washing basket, drying somewhere round the house, in the ironing pile.....

Wish there really was a washing fairy (as DH seems to believe )

ChristmasStockingpuss30 · 01/12/2004 16:22

Mine is. We have one day a week where I do 5 or 6 loads though. We all stay in (me plus 2 kids) and get very bored but at least it is always done .

CountessDracula · 01/12/2004 16:23

hahahahhahhahahahh gibber gibber :O

paolosgirl · 01/12/2004 16:23

Nope, never ever empty. The washing machine's on about once a day, and then there's the ironing and putting it all away once it's washed . I'm here only for cooking, washing, and finding things.

nailpolish · 01/12/2004 16:23

how do you get it dried?

ChristmasStockingpuss30 · 01/12/2004 16:24

nailpolish, I have a tumble drier, I would be lost without that.

nailpolish · 01/12/2004 16:25

my dh put my iron away the other day without it cooling down first and he wound the cable around the iron and the cable melted so im iron-less just now and have an everest in the kitchen and dd's are wearing mismatched 5-layered summer clothes til i get a new one!

nailpolish · 01/12/2004 16:26

i have a td too but it must be crap cos it takes ages and couldnt do more than 2 loads a day

5goldendillydallys · 01/12/2004 16:28

Never empty and a bit bottomless like Mary Poppins carpet bag
No tumble drier

blossomgoodwill · 01/12/2004 16:28

I don't know ehere I am going wrong though as I have at least 2 loads per day. Thta's doesn't include towels, bedding etc.
Don't get me started on ironing grrrrr

NP, I hardly ever iron. I just fold as soon as it's all done and put away. I really don't care that ds goes to nursery in unironed stuff (gets covered in glue and glitter anyway), I have better things to be doing, like reading MN .

nailpolish · 01/12/2004 16:32

i dont do much housework these days either since discovering mn! i just come on here and talk about it same as you!

SantaFio2 · 01/12/2004 16:34

ours is empty if all dirty clothes are on the floor

blossomgoodwill · 01/12/2004 16:34

SantaandtheReindeer · 01/12/2004 16:36

Nailpolish, I think the big secret to getting laundry done (except for a tumble dryer of course) is....

DON'T IRON!

blossomgoodwill · 01/12/2004 16:36

Nailpolish - housework???? What's that???

OP posts:
blossomgoodwill · 01/12/2004 16:37

Blossom, so does mine. Not to mention tea towels and hankies. Thankfully she stops short at knickers!
