Nope. Never empty here.

Often nearly get there but then I blink and it's full again.

Never iron here either but still can't keep up with it.

Anyway as a mumsnetter once told me "If they were designed to be empty they'd have pictures on the bottom" I like that way of thinking

alilujahcatsg · 01/12/2004 16:46

good god no. Though having had a week off i was pleased to rediscover the bottom of the basket yesterday. Turned round to see mountainous pile of socks and pants under DH's side of the bed but have managed to avert eyes since then.... I'm not brave enough to go in there

Tetley · 01/12/2004 16:48

Occasionally I get to the bottom, but then dh finally clears his pile of clothes from the bedroom floor & then it's full again!
Funnily enough he doesn't seem to be able to empty the washing basket - only to fill it

im not ironing like a used to anymore - and if dh complains ill blame you lot

SantaandtheReindeer · 01/12/2004 16:53

Tell him to do his own if he's that bothered Nailpolish.

We have two washing bags one upstairs (ours) and one down (dds). Dp is great at laundry. He does the nappies nd dds clothes etc and then proudly tells me all the washing is done. I believed him the first couple of times till I ran out of things to wear (almost)!!!! Had to wear a skirt and blouse to work!!!!!!! Now I make sure I do our stuff at the weekend Am not complaining BTW think he does a brilliant job better organinsed than me. Just forgets that me and him wear clothes too

tinselwinselspiderclimbedupthe · 01/12/2004 17:00

I do the ironing tho but only really necessary stuff. My mum irons knickers as well as teatowels!!!

ThomCatsAreNotJustForXmas · 01/12/2004 17:01

i don't do badly but then I h=only have one little girl so.........

It doesn't stay empty for more than a few hours obviously.

I put a wash on on my way out to work, hang it up while dinner is cooking when i get in and do this pretty much every other day but not at weekends.

SamN · 01/12/2004 17:20

ours is never ever empty.

Dp occasionally mumbles about wishing that we washed towels/bedlinen more often but he knows what the answer to that is - I wash them when I get round to it and if he wants them washed sooner he can wash them (and dry and put them away) himself.

I've already applied that rule to the ironing and I hope ds1 and ds2 will grow up to do their own too. However I have yet to train any of them not to drop their socks and pants on the floor wherever they happen to be standing when they are undressing. I have to do a quick sweep of the house before people come round to check for underwear in strange places (unless it's family or very close friends in which case I don't bother)
