European broccoli crisis?

According to our Sainsburys there is one - due to weather conditions in Spain - "Supplies should be back to normal by 26 November"?

Or are Sainsburys just crap at sourcing? I thought broccoli came from the UK in the autumn but they have hardly had any for about a week and a half!

What you need is a Waitrose. Penty of broccoli there.

Branster · 23/11/2004 20:28

Really?
I wonder if it's happening in all the supermarkets.
went to safeways today (in a bid to follow the cut your food bill in half thread!) and they had loads of the stuff.

JanH · 23/11/2004 20:29

Thank you so much, soupy. WE HAVEN'T GOT ONE!

(You knew that, didn't you? )

The word insouciant springs to mind. Can you do insouciant? (I think you just did actually.)

it's probably all in bristol being eaten at the funeral, jan

JanH · 23/11/2004 21:03

Thanks, lou - given the timing, I'm wondering if Sainsburys knew in advance about your friend's funeral?
