LOL squonk! The od methods are the best eh?

BUT
With the tomtom if you are lost in the middle of nowhere you can ask it to direct you to the nearest garage, cash machine, restaurant, place of interest etc

Try finding that out yourself whilst drivng down a motorway singing the wheels on the bus in a rapidly more manic manner to a hungry bored toddler!!

LOL Squonk!

Marmite fab news on connor, sorry did not log on this morning before going out so will post tomorrow. Should not cost much to post anyway. All are washed in non-bio btw!

I think when you decide to ttc it always makes you feel a bit "oh my god are we really ready". I certainly did... and then I got two .

Good idea on park n ride. Might well be the best option and am sure cheaper too. Even if we get there before you we can always wait. I drove past it on my way in last time so know where it is.

Marmite, for coming here next week, I strongly advise printing out AA routeplanner directions as they will tell you which way to go round one-way system. Then spend every day until next Friday memorising them so you don't have to keep looking down whilst driving! My friend who came last Friday said it was fine as there are so many traffic lights etc once on one-way system that you can keep checking you are on track.

Main thing to remember is when you come off M3 at J9 to take THIRD exit at roundabout, signposted Winnall Trading Estate or something similar, as if you take second exit signposted Winchester it takes much longer (I took wrong exit myself in dark a couple of weekends ago and it is a PITA, you still get here but adds 10 mins).

Right, tons of chores to do and really need to rest today as was so tired by yesterday afternoon I got dizzy and lightheaded and big headache etc.

DS2 had poo at 12:30am. He woke us up to tell us. I spent 45 mins dealing with it and getting him settled again as refused to feed him so early. He then slept til 4am - phew. DS1 up at 6:30am this morning though.

fryalot · 06/03/2008 13:26

dp has memorised every single motorway service station on every motorway in the bloody country. (in a previous life he used to travel a lot... a lot ) so we have our own personal rest-stop-navigational device

egg - sounds like you didn't get enough sleep to make up for your horrendous night, so I guess you'll be resting as much as poss today.

Just got back from speech therapy and they seem fairly convinced that ds will grow out of his stammer. They said that it is very common with littlies that speak well and early and it is also very common if there is a history of stammering on the father's side (there is) so it is likely to be gone completely by the time he is 5. They want to see us again in 6 months, so we'll see how he's doing then.

Of course, he was absolutely fine with his talking all the time we were in the room, as soon as we said goodbye, we went to get in the lift and he said "whe whe whe whe whe where we going now?" I felt like running back and saying to the woman "see, he does stammer"

Egg · 06/03/2008 13:29

Ah that's good news squonk. Before age 5 I don't imagine he will feel embarrassed about it at all, whereas later on I imagine it is harder. Bless him. Every time I have taken DS1 to docs with hideous cough he is 100% healthy while we are in the docs surgery (he cried this morning cos me and DTs were going to docs without him ).

Am annoyed as have not gone for a lie down as DS2 was v unsettled, so decided to run a bath for him and get him clean and maybe bath DD at same time, and then he went quiet and was happy batting at toys under his activity arch, so I didn't want to disturb him. Can't really go for a sleep while he is under there, although I spose I could lie on sofa.

Oh, he is crying now...................................

And oh look, now DD is too...................................

Bath time for them then!

marmitemad · 06/03/2008 15:51

Squonk - am pleased to hear the speech therapy prognosis and am very of your navigational tools.

Having a crappy day today, had a bad headache since getting up but managed to get to swimming. was planning to go back up hosp but cancelled and came home, had lunch then went to bed. dd had to come in with me as she wouldn't sleep in her cot (thats one plan broken now). Head feels a little better and am now packing bag to go to health spa tonight. Looking forward very much to the 1 hour aromatherapy massge at 6pm.

SIL has been discharged from hosp and Connor is now in the next stage down nursery. Even the hosp are very surprised at how quickly he has progressed.

Egg · 06/03/2008 16:09

marmite good news on Connor and SIL but not good news on you... I felt like that yesterday but mine was from complete exhaustion I think as I pretend I am invincible, I also had 2 coffees and three teas, plus a fair bit of choc, and for someone who used to only have at the MOST one cup of tea a day, that's a lot of caffeine.

Saying that, with your DDs recent teething etc you are prob exhausted too. I presume the swimming relaxes you, I would never be able to swim at lunch if tired, but DH goes to the gym at lunch even when shattered as he finds it kind of "therapeutic".

Enjoy the massage later, sounds like you really need it.

Have packaged up the clothes and got the address label on so just need to pop them into post office tomorrow. Will send 1st class as it insures contents up to £34 or something and they are not worth more than that so not worth spending more on guaranteed delivery etc.

Right, really want some tea now, but not sure it will help. It is always this time of day I feel most tired. Will aim to get DS1 in bed by 7pm tonight, which should be easy as he had less than 11 hours last night and normally needs 12, and will not have slept long at nursery either. Then need to feed DTs just after 7 and once DH is home at 7:40 I am off to BED.

fryalot · 07/03/2008 07:36

morning ladies

marmite - hope you're feeling a bit better today. I really feel for you - you were starting to feel so much better and now you're bad again. Tis a bugger. Good news on SIL and Connor though Sounds like he'll be coming home soon as well.

egg - we know you're not invincible, but I (and I think the other zs as well) are SO proud of you, you are coping fantastically well and giving every impression of being wonderwoman. There is no way that I would be coping so well. You are doing everything perfectly. Well done.

(hope that didn't sound as patronising as it looks, I meant it sincerely)

fryalot · 07/03/2008 08:37

ooh, I do have a bit of squonky news: (perhaps tmi for a thread like this, but we're all mates, so...)

I am having a period.

So, hopefully this will mean that my body has now got rid of the last of the injection hormones and I shall start to lose some of this excess weight and be back to my normal sylph-like state (well... ish ) within a fortnight.

Also, I need to talk to dp about sex and ttcing and whether we are serious as we are no longer in the "well it probably won't happen but if it did it wouldn't be the end of the world" stage, we are now back to the "it's quite possibly going to happen and if we don't want it to we need to do something about it" stage.

Off to munch on a celery stick and see if we have any ryvita in the house

Egg · 07/03/2008 08:43

Ahhh thanks squonky you made me well up . Most of the time I do feel like i am coping really well but then have (thankfully brief) moments when it all gets on top of me, like this morning when DS1 woke at 5:30 scrreeeeeeeaming. In the end I gave in and went in to him (DH was clearly not about to) and he was shouting that he wanted milk. This is all because last weekend DS1 woke at 6am and DH was not prepared to get up so he gave him milk and put him back to bed. To me this is like giving him milk in the night (and to DS1) so now he thinks he can have milk in night, which he CANNOT, or he will start waking for it every night and I already have two of those type of monkeys in the house... so anyway I said no milk to DS1 and he hit me (not hard). So I lay him back down and left and was very peed off.

So he cried intermittently til 7am, so did DS2, and I lay in my crappy sleeping bag unable to sleep (had already been awake from 2:20 til 4am).

Feel ok now, and not even had tea or coffee yet!

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo. More excitingly, onto the possible TTC! Very exciting you have a period, did not realise you had not had one at all, you stopped the implant in Aug didnt you???

Argh cant type DS1 is trying to kiss the laptop... hukio9iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilpou9yh8uhbijkujy6ety4w2

fryalot · 07/03/2008 08:52

aww, hello babyeggboy1

You see, that's what I'm talking about. I would have given in and given him milk just for another hours sleep. You are strong and don't give in. I am v. impressed.

You need to have a serious talk with dh though because it's no good you standing your ground if he is going to give in, it makes all your efforts completely worthless. You need to at him and waggle your finger

Tis also very difficult not to give in when you are bone-shatteringly tired, which you must be.

Seriously, I am in awe of you at the mo

You remember right, I didn't have my August injection so the last one I did have was May last year and I have been having all the classic symptoms - weight gain, no periods, mood swings, lack of libido (coming out of that one as well, thank god!) but am hoping with todays development that all that is in the past and I shall be able to get back to normal.

I do actually feel like a slimmer me (until I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror).

I have put on 2 stone since you saw me, and in the pics I have of that first day (at the concert... Genesis... ) I think I look really fat!

anyway, well done for just being awake and alive

marmitemad · 07/03/2008 09:41

morning ladies,

I feel sooooo much better today. Had a fabulous massage with rose & neroli oils to help with my hormones, it also got rid of my headache. wish I could have a massage every month , I appear to be possibly starting my period as well which is good.

Got home to find an unhappy dh though. dd really played him up during dinner as he gave her raisins at 5:30 before starting even though I said she could have them at the end if she had eaten everything else. she refused to eat anything other than raisins and screamed for over an hour even during bathtime. he lost his temper and screamed a few choice words, made her cry, then put her in her cot to calm down and when he went back in 10min later she had her dummy and was really upset. We had a talk about learning to walk away before it gets to that point but he said he felt he understood how I feel sometimes and not to give her raisins as first choice now.

Egg - I keep saying how in awe I am of you and it really is true. You are managing so much better than I did last year and you have 2 babies plus ds1. I think you deserve a huge pat on the back/hug and maybe a glass of champagne tonight? Are you managing to get any time for yourself atm or will that be when the dts go to nursery? I agree with Squonk about having a talk with dh about ds1's boundaries.

Squonk - am very for you. Didn't realise it took so long for the hormones to leave after the implant.

have to dash out to drs now for blood test, back later....................

fryalot · 07/03/2008 09:44

marmite - perhaps your dh should listen when egg tells MrEgg about not giving in to what they want.... raisins before tea fgs!

no wonder she only wanted raisins

Good luck with the bloodtest this time...

am of your massage. D'ya think dp will forego the pub tonight and give me a massage instead? I have aromatherapy oils and hot stones

aww, phono, they'll both be fine.

Perhaps me and your dp should do a virtual diet together? we can eat celery and slimfast and both complain to you about it

Will they really rule him out of the train drivers job because of it? That seems harsh. How physical a job is it?

Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2008 10:09

Hi all

Sorry some of us are not feeling great...
Squonk - yay for periods..tho I'm cross cos i've already had mine and am now on day 11 but started light spotting again with bloated tummy and back ache..feel about fifty stone today.

Phono - get your DP to weight watchers. Men are allowed massive amounts of points compared to women but every bloke there seems to drop pounds really quickly..my friends dp was 19 stone and he lost 8lbs in the first week!!

GUESS WHAT - Dp says we CAN have a honeymoon after all (with kids in tow obvioulsy) so I am busy looking for villas in sardinia for July!!!

EGG - you are an inspiration seriously..the fact that you have timetables and feeding rotas and wash your air just amazes me.

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2008 10:10

obvioulsy that should be HAIR not air..I'd think you were ocd'ing it a little if you were actually cleaning your air too.

ooh, a honeymoon Is there no end to Mr.Fred's wonderfulness?

phono - I suppose I sort of understand the train drivey thing, but they can't legislate against any sudden illness, and it does seem unfair that they are 'picking' on fatties, as they are an easy target. Isn't there an anti-fatty discrimination law?

lol at StepfordEgg cleaning the air

Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2008 10:45

Phono..he doesn't have to attend classes if he doesn't want to ...You can do it all online, but would he stick to it.
Unfortunately as you are bloody slim not overweight yourself it might be harder to encourage him..

I will post pics of emerald green seas and white sandy beaches if i must..

Squonk/Egg I just have a really funny feeling about booking a holiday abroad after last time.. But think I must exorcise the ghost of holiday past...

Bread is a bad one Phono..and craving carbs to fill up/snack on is alot of people's bugbear

Try and think of things he could snack on like mushrooms. You can grill really big woodland mushrooms and they are free of points!

Or salad has no points at all (as long as there's no dressing) but if you're eating a huge salad with no points you can always have a bit of dressing..
Vegetables have no points..apart from swetcorn and potatoes i think...so a bit of steak/pork chop/chicken breast and a HUGE plate of veg is good.

fred - re: past holiday: I can totally understand you being nervous, but try not to be, tis really unlikely that the same thing will happen again, and you're probably right about excorcising the ghost of holiday past.

You will have a fab time. New beginnings and all that?
