Where have you been Mumsnet?

What happened yesterday? No 'Talk' on Mumsnet! I kept checking all day and still kept getting the 'server busy' message. That stupid pop-up still managed to appear though!

Now there are no active conversations or last day/last week listings. I hope it gets back to normal soon.

Ah you had it too PamT - I thought it was my computer. I still get Saturday's home page when I log on but thankfully managed to get to the threads today. Was getting withdrawal symptoms!

tech · 28/10/2002 18:32

Hi everyone,
We had a server problem over the weekend. Unfortunately we were unable to do anything about it until today. Hopefully it's all fixed now.

Best wishes,
tech

SoupDragon · 28/10/2002 19:34

Oh, thankyouthankyouthankyou!!

I had to talk to DH at the weekend...

florenceuk · 28/10/2002 19:37

Yay!!

Clarinet60 · 28/10/2002 19:41

**ger me, I actually got some work done! Hated being without you all, though

tigermoth · 28/10/2002 19:58

'Add a message' - those three little words mean so much.
Sadly I am pushed for time now so can only do a quick skim through. How frustrating.

ScummyMummy · 28/10/2002 20:14

Hooray hooray and phew. The withdrawal symptoms were painful indeed!

bayleaf · 28/10/2002 20:20

Dear Tech - please don't let it happen again or we'll ahve to send the girls round!
I was like a little lost soul wandering the house trying to find something to do. 'Can't you go on some other message board?' asked dh helpfully.
'NO! You don't understand!! - None of the others are like Mumsnet' I replied!

Willow2 · 28/10/2002 20:48

I couldn't get talk till today - drove me mental.

ellasmum · 28/10/2002 20:53

Thought it was just me that couldn't get it and was envisioning hours trawling through everything I had missed.

Glad normal service has resumed.

Alibubbles · 28/10/2002 20:58

i think that those who haven't subscribed yet, but missed mumsnet so much over the last two days should think about subscribing.

I thought for one awful moment Mumsnet had disappeared for ever, I was bereft!

Did manage to have a conversation with Rhiannon though, found her by subterfuge!!

Glad all is well with mumsnet!

jodee · 28/10/2002 21:10

Breathing huge sigh of relief! Don't go away again, please!

Likewise - was beginning to have panic attacks that the Mumsnet team had run away!

Marina · 28/10/2002 22:47

I got such a LOT done at work today, but the expression on my face would have stopped a clock (I was told).
Also completely identify with misery of having to talk to dh and ds instead of posting about them.
How nice to see you back, Mumsnet!

Clarinet60 · 28/10/2002 22:51

Made me realise the extent of my dependency though. Scary.

lou33 · 28/10/2002 23:33

I felt like a crack addict without my fix!

Tinker · 28/10/2002 23:37

Hey, I can control it , I could stop whenever I wanted to, yeah

SueDonim · 29/10/2002 02:18

Couldn't get Mumsnet until Tues morning here - desperate stakes! I was forced to do family things and read books and so on. I didn't manage to write a letter to my mum, though - she's launched a veritable cascade of them onto me and due to our being virtually under house arrest with the security situation I've nothing at all tell her - except that Mumsnet has been down, mebbe?? Somehow I don't think she's understand....

PamT · 29/10/2002 07:55

I managed to get on for a couple of minutes very early on Sunday morning and again very early yesterday morning then it all disappeared again. That stupid pop-up kept coming up to torment me though.

I also use another message board (forgive me for my sins) and that was down all day yesterday too - so I really was in withdrawal.
