I'm picking my own ring and struggling to decide out of these two!

Let your fiancé decide?

TonkinLenkicks · 10/09/2021 12:27

I love the second one (the one with the bigger cluster) but have you considered what they’ll both look like with the wedding band on? Mine is similar to the first and the band slots right next to it, not sure if there’d be a gap if you chose the bigger one?

Theworldisquiethere · 10/09/2021 12:28

Depends on your general style, if you’re someone who likes to dress fancy for every occasion then the bigger one, if you’re not then the smaller one. Both are beautiful though!

@CommanderBurnham

Let your fiancé decide?
Why is op not allowed an opinion?
DGFB · 10/09/2021 12:29

1, it’s more classic

idontlikealdi · 10/09/2021 12:29

Oh and 1 for me.

Although if I was choosing my own I'd go for something different - emerald or sapphire - everyone has the diamond solitaire!

SukonthaM · 10/09/2021 12:32

@idontlikealdi she obviously is as she’s narrowed it down to two? She’s literally asking for other peoples opinions. If she can’t choose between 2 then I think her fiancé’s opinion counts more than strangers on mn

mairiflowers · 10/09/2021 12:33

The second Smile

Floralnomad · 10/09/2021 12:34

The fiancé isn't wearing it, so o don't think their opinion is any more valid than an MN poll.

ISpyCobraKai · 10/09/2021 12:37

The first one, its gorgeous

daisyducky · 10/09/2021 12:38

1 is more classic, 2 is more me!

ISeeTheLight · 10/09/2021 12:40

Out of the 2 I'd go for option 1 but I would suggest you have a look at antique jewellers in your area - you can get something a bit more unusual for a decent price (and there's no environmental impact).

We bought my engagement ring that way a few months ago and I'm delighted with it. Much nicer than anything from the main jewellers.

AmelieLovesAutumn · 10/09/2021 12:41
  1. But I like things that are more understated than showy.

I'm surprised you can't choose between the two as they're very different styles. Do you actually have a preference & is something making you think you should choose the other??

Have you tried them on??

Nanananani · 10/09/2021 12:45

1st one definitely

  1. Keep looking (sorry to be awkward)

I was expecting two similar rings but these are so different. They must be something you like about each, so hopefully there's a ring out there that can combine both

wonkylegs · 10/09/2021 12:46

Mine is very similar to 1 and I love it. I have small hands and anything too ornate looks too much. I now also wear my wedding band and an understated eternity ring, it's worth what you are going to end up wearing with it after you get married.

nellly · 10/09/2021 12:46

1!

Ninkanink · 10/09/2021 12:47
  1. —I’ve got quite classic tastes.

Make sure to try on before you buy, because quite a lot of people find that the style they think they prefer just doesn’t look/feel right when it’s on their finger.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 10/09/2021 13:01

1st definitely

Shirleyphallus · 10/09/2021 13:02

Number 2 but do not buy it from whatever generic store this is!!!!

Go see an independent jeweller with this design and ask them to make it, it will be 100x nicer and half the price!

Hombadigada · 10/09/2021 13:11

I have tried them both on, and just love them both for different reasons! I am a very indecisive person. I love the cluster as it's a bit different and love how it looks like a flower (I'm subconsciously always doodling flowers!). But I do love the elegance of the solitaire, even though solitaire is a more popular option.

One pp mentioned about how a wedding band might fit with the cluster... I did think about this too but you can buy bands that come out in the middle to fit around it.
