How reliable is Ebay?

I have just bought ds some kickers from Ebay for £20, they normally retail at £45. My mum reckons they sould be fake. I am worried but did check the sellers history and it was really good. Do you think it will be okay? I used Paypal as well.

If feedback is ok then it should be fine. However there is a lot of fake branded stuff on eb\y. what sort of stuff does this person sell. If they look like they just sell stuff they don't want- (not a lot of the same stuff) they're probably not a trader. What did your gut feeling tell you?

blossomhill · 03/11/2004 21:17

It honestly told me it was fine. I saw pictures and they looked good. Had a lot of good history so obviously trades on there a lot.

doesa he have a lot of the same item tho?

wobblyknicks · 03/11/2004 21:18

Or sometimes they are traders buying real brands wholesale so they can sell them so cheaply.

lou33 · 03/11/2004 21:20

PicadillyCircus · 03/11/2004 21:21

I thought it said that too . Then thought that sounds like a lot for a pair of knickers and why is she getting them for her DS...

wobblyknicks · 03/11/2004 21:22

lou - your brain is bad? I only realised she hadn't said that when i read your post!!! otherwise I'd still be thinking she was buying high class lingerie!!!

lou33 · 03/11/2004 21:23

Flossam · 03/11/2004 21:23

blossomhill · 03/11/2004 21:23

wobblyknicks · 03/11/2004 21:23

lou - i can't think of any more effing bar names!!!

MunnzieB · 03/11/2004 21:24

Ebay is good, i found, but i always ask for confirmation they have recieved the money, and when it will be sent out, never had a problem thou.

lou33 · 03/11/2004 21:25

that sounds a good enough name to me

Branster · 03/11/2004 21:32

just like lou33 I was convinced I read knickers and was wondering what are they made of to justify a £45 retail price!

Branster · 03/11/2004 21:33

and didn't realise it wasn't knickers until Lou33's message either

lou33 · 03/11/2004 21:36

so I am not the only clod about tonight then.

Hulababy · 03/11/2004 21:38

Well, they certainly look like normal Kickers to me. They have the leather imprint and the tags. Let's hope you did get a great bargain

Flossam · 03/11/2004 21:41

Even worse, I didn't even notice they were expensive!

blossomhill · 03/11/2004 21:41

Thanks Hulababy
If they are fakes they are bl**dy good ones!

pixiefish · 03/11/2004 21:45

Blossomhill- my dh sells a lot on ebay- he's also a power seller and i asked him to look at that seller for you- he says there are no negs- so good, also he's a power seller- he'd be kicked off ebay for selling fake if he was caught. Looks like you've got yourself a bargain

blossomhill · 03/11/2004 21:49

Thanks Pixiefish

I thought knickers too, what's the matter with all of us?

I know people who buy skin & haircare products on ebay - bottles of skin toner, hair lotion etc. I thought about doing it but then thought what's stopping them, say, watering it down or something?
