Hello gorgeous Italian MNers. I wonder if you could give me a little help here.

I want to send a message to a friend and basically what I want to say is:

Wishing you joy, happiness and laughter. I hope you find what you are looking for and remember the door is never closed.

Ta muchly!

colombina · 30/12/2007 23:49

Hi Marsy, here goes my translation! BTW are you addressing one person or more than one?

"Ti auguro (or Vi auguro - if more than one recipient) gioia, felicita' e sorrisi. Spero che tu (voi) trovi (troviate) cio' che cerchi (cercate). Ricordando che la porta non e' mai chiusa."

Byeeeeeeee.

MarsyChristmas · 31/12/2007 01:14

Thank you! It was one person.

I really must learn Italian. It's a gorgeous language. Always sounds like a song.

Of course I have memories of my first ever holiday romance in Lido di Jesolo. Andrea. 6ft 4. Dark hair, couldn't dance for toffee but he loved U2's In the name of love. Protected my honour when someone made racist comments. Spoke words of love over me as we lay on the beach. I say spoke words of love... I have no idea. It sounded gorgeous and I loved it. Sigh...................

hotHELL · 31/12/2007 14:37

sorry haven't been around, i suspect the regular italian mumsnetters have their face stuck in a slice of pandoro. Buon anno a tutte. Marsy I love your Italian too!!

not the face stuck in the pandoro ma quasi. anyway Happy New Year to you all!!!!

(Marsy I love your Italian too! )

we are staying home.

hothell we went to the thing in hyde park: nothing special at all... missable unless you happen to be around. DD went to the bugy jumpy thing and made us so proud as she was the youngest and bravest (PFB smug emoticon!)

hotHELL · 31/12/2007 19:44

Very smug indeed!
We are staying home too.
pIPPI did you know after you conceived that you had conceived? Did you have any signs the day/days after?

PippiCalzelunghe · 31/12/2007 20:59

you might be home hothell but surely not just the three of you and about to go to bed, like we are. and to be honest I am very glad. DD seem to have gone to bed all right for once and I can enjoy some private time with DH.

anyway, I'd like to think I was in touch with my body and knew but no I didn't have the foggiest. It was the only month I did not feel pg, but I did the test right the day my period was due and was lightly positive.

all the past months I though I felt we had conceived and felt pg... the power of the mind I say.

hotHELL · 31/12/2007 22:34

We are about to go to bed too, we are knackered. Lots of people said that, that they were pregnant when they didn't think they were.

i bet franca is raving it up down in Milan....

hotHELL · 01/01/2008 08:55

Buon 2008 ragazze!

hotHELL · 01/01/2008 15:03

pippi if you are about can you tell me how you make lentils and pancetta? not convinced by anything i see on the net....

francagoestohollywood · 01/01/2008 15:09

ciao buon anno!!!!!
sorry I haven't been around, but it's been hectic. Our furniture arrived safely on the 27th, but it's been an efforto of creativity to fit everything into a tiny flat!
anyway, the flat is not habitable (made up word?) as they need to come and allacciare il contatore del gas... I'm at my inlòaws at the mo. ds is quite happy but with hight testosterone levels. dd is worried of the changes.
hope you all had a lovely time yesterday night. It's very cold here and they say it's going to snow tomorrow, which we 'd love...

this is how I make lentils hothell: saute onion, garlic, carrott and celery and pancetta a cubetti. add the lentils, lasciare insaporire. add brodo, cook for more than an hour. season with salt and èpepper.

Rosa · 01/01/2008 19:01

Hi girls and Buon Anno ... Glad you are all ok . I had a yummy pannetone from a bakery here !!!!! But Dh brought the pandoro from Italy. Temp is dropping here as well and forecast is lousy .. Do I want to go back to Italy ?????????
Franca hope your dc are all ok might be better when they are back surrounded by their toys etc etc ...

Brangelina · 02/01/2008 15:02

Hello, I'm back! Got back on NYE really but have been busy with my new jigsaw puzzle.

DD and I had a great time in the UK, not doing much at all, just eating and slobbing about. Went to the beach a couple of times and to the local playground twice but other than that we just stayed in and I am now quite fat from eating copious amounts of stollen and shortbread biscuits.

DD had lots of fun and too many presents, I was having cold sweats worrying about them all fitting in my suitcase. DD's speaking a lot more English too, all coming along nicely now. She's even started sleeping in later in the mornings but had to get up earlier for nursery this morning so that won't last mi sa.

I'm quite glad DP didn't come now, am still mad about the principle of it but I was glad to not have to translate constantly and being able to watch any old rubbish on the telly without worrying about him being bored. I must say, though, the television has gone downhill a bit, despite the zillions of channels on my dsis's Skyplus we were still hard pushed to find something decent to watch. It's put me right off getting Sky here now.

Franca, I'm glad you're settling in well, we must meet up again soon.
