lol . The only thing that disturbs me is that he did take the scissors... he's never done anything like that before! TA told me that indeed he had a piece of paper stuck in the mutande, so probably he wanted to get rid of that . I'm not sure, ds is quick tempered, but never thought he could have any kind of deep "turba"...

franca to be honest i would try to be careful not to make a big deal out of hte willy accident, i'd worry that he realizes him talking of cutting his willy gets a reaction from you and then he talks about doing it, threatens to do it to get on your nerves. If i were you I would reiterate that we always need to take care with scissors, can hurt oneself, can hurt other people blah blah, and keep an eye on the willy situation. It sounds that the idea popped into his head to cut his willy because of the paper in his pants, either that or you are the archetypal castrating italian woman, and poveraccia chi se lo sposa.

Brangelina · 06/12/2007 20:06

Lol Med! Is this the voice of experience? Do you have a suocera castrante too?

francagoestohollywood · 06/12/2007 20:59

Lol hotmed, my first reaction would be to blame the piece of paper and the fact that boys are a bit fixated on their willies. But of course now I'm wondering whether I'm he typical Italian castrating mother ...

Sono quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ma non per tanto. Have family coming for dinner ( AHHHH) so need to find the house under all the usual cr*p. DH out and I was out last night not hungover but tired - Only had 1 beer and a digestivo but was gossiping and went to bed late and dd woke a few times in the night !
Can we all join in in castrating our MIL ..well only the bocca ( a bit !!!)

francagoestohollywood · 07/12/2007 13:21

what are you cooking, what are you cooking ???

OP posts:
Rosa · 07/12/2007 13:32

Cheats everything as I have no time and I mean no time . Its only MIL , SIL and kids so needs to be quick and easy ! Still have to pack and can only do when dd is asleep as she takes everything out of the case and sits in it !!
Antipasti al la salumi counter with dips nipotini love dipping carrots and patatine.
Pizza and nipotina is helping put the toppings on ( she is 5). Made choc mousse with orange biscuits ( the Lindt chco mousse is the biggest cheat I can do and it is soooooo good).

francagoestohollywood · 07/12/2007 13:34

mmmmmm lindt choc mousse... mmmm fab!! good packing!

I'm here! Finally managed to pack DP off to the gym so I can have some peace and go on mnet. I'm supposed to be working you see and I don't want him getting ideas that I do nothing but come on here all day.

Rosa, I'm very impressed by your organisation. I have time to prepare a proper meal for tonight but can I be bothered? No. DD's getting a feta and onion frittata with tomato salad and marmite on toast (fusion anglo/greek/italian cuisine) and we're eating whatever DP decides to prepare as I have boxing tonight so he will have to "cook".

He has bought pizzoccheri for tomorrow which means my kitchen will be bombed and I'll get tummy ache from all that butter. Sigh. And he always makes too much so I will be picking at the leftovers for the rest of the day and give myself worse tummy ache. Double sigh.

francagoestohollywood · 07/12/2007 15:11

I haven't eaten pizzoccheri for ages! Impressed by your dd eating frittata. mine don't do frittata. ds loves eggs and soldier but that's the only way to eat an egg for him. dd hates eggs. yesterday however they ate all their trout and lots of fennel dipped in pinzimonio. It's costing me lots of money, I paid 2 pounds for two (organic) fennels. how much are fennels in Italy?
the school run is looming...
yes, rosa should lecture me in organizational skills. we are having a party tomorrow, but haven't done anything yet.

Brangelina · 07/12/2007 15:19

It's stagione now for fennel, so it's cheap. If I mention my DD eats fennel to English people they think I'm being poncey. They don't realise it's a staple out here. DD only eats it at nursery anyway, she won't touch it at home even if I make it exactly the same way. I'm impressed by the pinzimonio. Have you tried it with sliced orange, capers (or anchovies) and semi di anice, drowned in olive oil? Absolutely delish.

Rosa · 07/12/2007 15:25

i love fennel al forno dd will not touch it unless its hidden. Me organised you should see my house am trying to hide as much non MIL friendly stuff as I can. Dd woke early so had to go in and give her big cuddles and try to get her to nap more ( in my arms) as with cousins tonight she will be going to bed late so not got that much done.
Impressed by your DP doing proper cooking ..Magari in this house I hope you use salted butter now that is expensive here !
Back to the hiding can' cram much more behind the sofa

Rosa · 07/12/2007 15:27

Ah ha solution ...DD bedroom out of bounds as full of Xmas presents so nobody allowed in there ...That means I can chuck everything in there!!! mum just rang and said high winds forecast for this w/e in UK ..I hope not that high that we can't land !!!

francagoestohollywood · 07/12/2007 15:59

Yes, the wind has got worse this afternoon, it's chilly here! Are you flying out tomorrow or is it sunday?
Lol at rosa chucking everything in her dd's bedroom, it's like those barzellette della settimana enigmistica with people sweeping dust under the rug .
I wasn't aware of the existence of poncey food (apart from oysters and caviar) before moving to the UK .
rosa my mum makes a lovely gratin di finocchio with besciamella and parmesan... mmm.
Brange I used to make a salad with oranges, thinly cut fennel, lots of pepper and olive oil.

Flying Sunday think pm flight is 15.30 ish to the west country ..DH just come back with shopping he has bought a grey ( dull ) duffle coat for dd . It is boring drab and thankfully far too big he is saying he will take it and change it I now hope that they do not have any smaller. Or maybe if I show it to SIL it might fit her ds...I do not want dd in it !!!

francagoestohollywood · 08/12/2007 09:49

'morning all. how's things? rosa are you home? franca how's the packing going? how's the spirit?

the pippi's family is okay, DH and I are a bit nervous with each other, not sure why.
DD sleeps like an angel. I have changed her bedroom round and she seems to love it. thank god. she also understood that she is allowed in our bed only when the sun is up so it's all good.

silently fuming with SIL but this is old story so never mind.
