I moved here from the UK and although i used to visit lots to see family I find living here extremely difficult in many ways.Just wondered how others have found it.Thanks in advance

people try to make us stump up full whack.

the poor bairn's only gone 4 this past June, ffs.

I do remember Ireland in the eighties, the North of England wasn't exactly a playground thanks to Mrs Thatch yknow.

As for pulling yourselves out of the mire - weren't you helped by massive financial assistance from your EU neighbours?, as well as from your friends in the good ole US of A (in return for the jobs they have lent you they get to take prisoners to Turkey for rendition!) You are now so reliant on American multinationals that you are all scared to protest against this. This is what the USA does - holds countries to ransom ( jobs, investment etc)- it's called imperialism.

Surely the GAA is just an extension of the Catholic Church - designed to control and subjugate? Why can't we find a secular school for our children? Yes, all are welcome to play but only those who attend mass make the team.

Ireland's recent financial success is down to US investment fuelled by very low corporation tax, a compliant workforce, and a construction sector building houses for investors to rent out to non-nationals (as they are known here).

During DPs work he visits these multinational companies and notices that all management positions are filled by Irish people, whereas all 'menial' positions are filled by said non-nationals.

Shame the bubble is about to burst. PS If Bertie is reading this could he meet me in Manchester - I'll bring brown envelope for the donations as I find myself in dire straits at present and all donations would be appreciated.

Franken, don't take this the wrong way, as i stated before, i'm an immigrant myself, but from your last post i really do think you need to make a serious list of pros and cons.

you don't sound happy at all.
