Hope the back’s better soon. I’ve booked another physio session for next week. Takeaway, bubble bath and pink fizz, followed by Poirot sounds perfect. I watched a Poirot two parter yesterday whilst I was ironing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2020 20:01

God - white curtains. Massively impractical unless you're filming a Flake advert.

Actually - white curtains have their place Grin

We've watched another Buffy - Xander being chased by every woman in the world. Now waiting for Bake Off to start.

In HBF news, TB has a new interview out. variety.com/2020/film/global/tom-burke-the-show-alan-moore-mank-cormoran-strike-1234801675/ Apparently they might start filming Troubled Blood early 2022 (I think I read somewhere that Holly Grainger is pregnant at the mo).

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2020 21:19

Love the thought process there Helen re the white curtains Grin

I wonder who they’d cast as Morris? Envy

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2020 21:48

Wench Logic Grin

Have another HBF for your bath...

Hayloft for me I think, try to get a good night's sleep so I don't wake up feeling like the walking dead tomorrow Hmm

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2020 22:24

Here’s hoping for a good night’s sleep for you Helen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2020 07:47

Morning. Not sure about the good night's sleep. I woke up a few times, but don't feel trashed yet. But I have a spreadsheet meeting in couple of hours, so that should do the trick.

Weather report - surprisingly mild outside, with lots of geese and starlings.

Cat report: on lap, soon to be on the bed, when I move, then on me while I try to work.

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2020 08:22

Morning wenches. Not feeling trashed yet - it’s a small win and it still counts Helen.

Short day but then a mega homework with DS2 when I get in.

FancyFancy · 14/10/2020 13:11

Afternoon
Still busy

I like your way of relaxing ww Smile, clearly a woman of taste! Hoep you are happy with the pics

I was going to say - white curtains, impractical with a cat. But in reality ALL curtains are impractical - my two cover all fur colours so it shows up no matter what colour the curtains are. And ScaredyCat likes to hide behind the curtains when she's in a silly playful mood so I fret about claw snag.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/10/2020 17:17

And about the white curtains, I'm taking those down so they look good when people come to view the apartment, which will be in spring sometime Smile

ApricotCrush · 14/10/2020 17:38

Afternoon.

I've finished TB! Excellent. Unfortunately, about 200 pages in I inadvertently saw a spoiler naming the killer, so it wasn't a surprise. Sad We spent two holidays in St. Mawes with DH's sister and her DH pre-DC and stayed at the Ship and Castle, mentioned in the book. I always remember the lads going out drinking while SIL and I stayed in to wash our hair/do our nails. They forgot the time and got locked out and had to climb onto a flat roof and get in noisily through a window. Hmm

Yes, Holly is quite pregnant, I saw some pics of her.

Oh the pics are fabulous WW, light and airy and I love your cat curtains. Smile

Grin at can't move without making noises. That's me all the time.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2020 17:55

Oh that's a sod Apricot - seeing the spoiler that early on Sad

Wicked - I love the bagel photo - do you have to freeze it now and sell it with the apartment? Grin It looks good though.

Has been a busy day here, and my brain is surprisingly un-fried. It's depressingly dark though. Sad

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2020 18:55

Evening wenches.

Those photos are beautiful Wicked!

What an utter bugger about the spoiler Apricot Sad

I love memories like that Apricot Smile

Yes, not even 7pm and it’s properly dark. Averagely shit day at work, got home and got DS2 going with his homework which went quite well. Then he asked for an app which I looked over and decided it wasn’t appropriate for him. Let’s just say the reaction was completely out of proportion, particularly for someone of his age. It reminded me I need to chase up the paediatrician again for the paperwork.

On a lighter note, I’ve finished watching Ghosts. I loved it.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/10/2020 19:10

Really Helen, it's a cinnamon bun HmmGrin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/10/2020 19:12

That's crap Apes Sad Remember when some moron posted a photo of Dog's and Connie's wedding, such a spoiler.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2020 20:19

Sad LetUs Wine and Gin and Chocolate and for both of you

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2020 21:20

Mmmm cinnamon bun

Thanks Helen. He’s continued to be a little sod for most of the evening with glimpses of an actual pleasant child.

I’m having an early night with The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. This is in lieu of no HBFs in real life (Excellent word - harrumph)

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/10/2020 21:34

Lots of hugs Letus

LetUsPrey · 15/10/2020 07:08

Morning wenches.

Thanks Wicked.

Woke up in the night with sort of cramp pain in the front of my ankle. Bloody hurt. Seriously, it’s a wonder bits of me aren’t dropping off Grin

Not sure what the weather’s doing as the curtains are still closed. Oooo the mystery

Started The Thursday Murder Club last night. Only a few chapters in and I’m loving it.

I’d better get dressed and dry my hair, unless the HBFs have any better ideas?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2020 07:51

Morning. The HBFs have much better idea of how you can spend your time LetUs - though it does involve getting your hair messed up, so you might not want to bother.

It has been raining, but has stopped for now and there is a little bit of blue sky behind the clouds. Wildlife report: 1 deer (a sensible one that froze and crouched down a bit when it saw us, rather that bounding through the field, advertising its presence to anyone who'd missed it), 1 cormorant (or it might have been a shag - will ask HBFs to demonstrate the difference for us), sundry geese, flock of sheep (not technically wildlife but they were being noisy this morning on account of some escapees being herded back into the field. Clever things, sheep.)

I am feeling trashed this morning - slightly less so for having been outside, but still. Even the chickens were still on their perches when I went out this morning - apart from the newbies who are hardcore.

Fingers crossed for a good day all round. I shall be performing tree surgery with DF later Hmm Which will mostly involve holding the ladder for him and a sunning silent commentary for "Don't fall off!" on repeat. Will also try to do HBFs productive stuff around the house.

FancyFancy · 15/10/2020 14:09

OMG those are fabulous pictures ww, it looks wonderful

DD has chosen a stupidly busy week for me at work to start preparing university applications. So I get home, have dinner, do the barest minimum of chores & she takes up the rest of my time. It may calm down next week......

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/10/2020 15:37

Thanks wenches for all the nice comments Smile

ApricotCrush · 15/10/2020 16:46

Afternoon. We're at the caravan, emergency dash before we get banned. Shock. DS won't be able to come next week as we're draining it down and putting everything away for the winter. I feel bad for him, because they're Tier 1 and could have come, but he can't do all the plumbing stuff. Having said that, they'll probably be Tier 2 by this time next week. Hmm

Wildlife report: suicidal pheasants running around everywhere on the roads, never seen so many. Sadly some had succeeded. Sad

Hope MrHelenSnr is alright.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 15/10/2020 19:23

Evening wenches.

Not sure anyone would notice a difference either way with my hair Helen, not that I’d care obviously if there were HBFs involved.

Awwww at the deer and other wildlife. Hope the tree surgery went well.

Blimey Fancy, that time of year already?! Here’s hoping everything calms down soon.

That’s a shame re DS not being able to go to the caravan but you’re right that it’ll probably all change soon Apricot. Sad at the unfortunate pheasants.

Work was work. DS2 has started tonight’s homework stint about 15 minutes ago. He needs my iPad for a lot of it so that can’t be done before I get home. Then we have dinner. There’s no homework clubs on at the moment and it’s all getting a bit overwhelming for him again

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2020 21:07

Evening all.

MrHelenSenior is fine thank you Apricot Grin we survived the tree surgery intact Grin plus a side order of chopping up fallen branched for next year's firewood. SO that was good.

Good luck with the caravan shut-down Apricot - MrApricot will just have to teach DS to do the plumbing side of things himself.

again for DS2 LetUs - it's just a big bit shite Sad

Hope the University applications stuff is going ok Fancy. I gather they have to write 'personal statements' these days. Did we have to do those? I have no memory of such things any more. Sad
