It's dark. The sky is watery grey, the clouds are darker grey and it's misty. Everything is monochrome.

I think there's a frost but it's a bit too dark to see. My car got very excited about potential ice on the road at 7pm last night, and it's unlikely to have got warmer since then!

DH is off to physio and I have got BoringSpareRoomJob. And Stupid Cat, which is kneading at my dressing gown.

Following the news that bears shit in the woods comes news that the leak that's been there for weeks on my commute freezes in the cold weather. Who'd thought? Result : closed road. As if all the roadworks due to unpopularbigengineeringproject weren't enough.

Moring. I was about to go to LocalCity to pick up a new printer, then notice that my text was a confirmation of order, and a 'we'll text you when it's ready for pick-up'. So now I'm swithering, and probably won't go until they say it's actually ready, in case there's a problem with it not being there yet. Even though it was ordered for pickup today. 1st world problems and all that.

Honestly Fancy YABVVU - how could anyone have anticipated that water on the road would freeze in cold weather? It's not like there's any scientific proof or evidence for that sort of thing. And everyone knows that climate change means that glaciers are melting, so obviously, no-one could have expected that water on the road would ever freeze any more. Idiots. FFS and all that.

Well, what an enjoyable bath that was!

Water from a leak? Freezing on the road? When it’s really cold? This is obviously a brand new development and therefore completely unforeseen. A variation in the commute from quite shit to a bit more shit.

I usually get the text to pick stuff up about 10 minutes after I’ve driven past the shop on my way to work. Hope the text comes through soon.

There's a car transporter in the road with 8 vehicles on it. They're juggling them around and the road's full. I think it's car number six for a family over the road. God knows where they're going to put it, the five they already have fill the drive.

I'm bereft, we've finished season 3 of Lucifer and although season 4 is on Prime Video you have to pay for it.

Glad to say that it's been dry here today, especially since I've been doing garden stuff all day - dealing with fallen trees and carting logs and stuff. Finally got a text to say that the printer was ready for pick-up at about 2pm, so I've turned the day on its head and did that last thing. I'm now installing said printer with Stupid Cat on my lap. It's asking what software to install, and I have no idea. I think I may need DH at this point...

Today’s plans include washing, —nagging— gently reminding DS2 to do his homework, jigsaw, perhaps some knitting, fighting the urge to tell DH to shut the fuck up. Will also phone mother shortly for our traditional Sunday morning Strictly discussion.

Morning. Today's plans involve more tree clearance and log shifting. What I really need is an assortment of HBFs who can get hot and grubby doing the work for me while I admire their skills... Meanwhile in reality, there won't be any.

Weather is also dreary here, but hopefully the rain will hold off.

Oops, I was wrong. The car wasn't for the family who already have five. (They have four DC and as they reach 17 they get a car, so I assumed it was for the fourth one, particularly as one of the cars on the transporter was a pale blue Mini.) But no, it was for the MerryWidow on our side of the road. Curious, as it's a big black SUV and her car is still on the drive. I do wish people would tell us what's going on. Not that I'm nosy or anything.

Yay for printer and chat with mother. DD and I don't seem to have any programmes we both watch, but we do have regular chats.

Evening all. I'm bloody knackered - have been carting logs again all day, with a side order of burning twiggy bits for fun/break from carting. I'm not sure if I will be able to move tomorrow, my arms are really achey from the weight of the wheelbarrow/logs. Athos can provide tlc and recuperative massages. Or just hot sex. Or both. I'm easy.

Got the rest of my work done yesterday so have spent today sleeping, lounging around & doing a few jobs.
To be fair to the council helen, they had gritted the roads very thoroughly, but I imaging the leak had washed it all away by the time by the temperature dropped!
