Morning wenches.

What a thing to see in the morning Fancy

How are the bites today Helen?

Rainy McRainyton here. Hoping it stops so I can go for exercisething after work.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2020 07:55

And that, sadly, remains the most likely way to get hold of the FAF Fancy Sad

I have my headache still. It can FTFO. and then fuck off some more.

Wildlife report - rain. Which isn't technically wildlife, but you know - it's outdoors. (Just under another cm overnight and gently raining again at the moment.) I shall decorate using the theme of 'things outside'... then head back to the hayloft and bury my head under Athos a pillow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2020 08:02

Oh bites. Still itchy.

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 24/09/2020 08:59

Ah Sister Helen that's where you need a holiday to a foreign country where you can buy proper, strong hydrocortisone cream over the counter instead of the shit they palm you off with in this country. It works - i am a mosquito magnet. They go down overnight. Places like Brazil or Thailand where laws are particularly relaxed are best. You can get it on tinternet for next time (pm me for dodgy but trustworthy online pharmacy).

Morning all. And thank you all for the FAF!!!! Enjoying TM very much too by the way. Still not sure about plots (pretty sure they are rubbish) but now I know they don't matter it's all great.

I've worked at home the last 2 days and now have to go in and do things. Ugh. Funny how wfh means doing hours more but feeling like you are skiving (Zulu's staff think you are).

Raining here except the two trees stop it from going on most of the plants I want it to. Expecting the mini river fox to be particularly disgusting after her walk today. Need a new dog walker I think. She's white snd fluffy and smells lovely but by 6pm will be dark brown and stink of pond. Welcome to winter!!! The season of mud!!!

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 24/09/2020 09:02

Ps Fancy that would be a brilliant little message to the ungrateful cow Emma Watson. 😁

ApricotCrush · 24/09/2020 18:07

Afternoon. Lots of rain here too but sadly no Marchal. They always let us down. Sad

I've done bugger all today.

Hope the headache's gone Helen.

LetUsPrey · 24/09/2020 19:24

Evening wenches.

They’re inconsiderate sods aren’t they Apricot?

How’s the headache Helen? Buggered off I hope.

Are dogs/mini river foxes just generally mud magnets? Friend’s dog is able to find the stinkiest thing in a whole field and roll around in it, usually about three minutes before he has to get in the car Envy

FancyFancy · 24/09/2020 21:13

More success tonight - topless Lucifer Grin - the episode where he visits a bathhouse. This was welcome after a bitty day at work trying to sort problems out. And having limited success. Pink is already in the fridge for tomorrow evening.

Also had to contend with fucking roadworks - got home from work, lobbed FancyCat in the carrier and had to rush to her appointment. Purse now somewhat lighter but meds administered so fingers crossed she'll heal up now.

Dogs are mud magnets in my experience - my old dog left me with a lifelong inability to throw out old towels. You just never know when you'll need one to clean up after the dog. Also useful for DC who are grubby creatures too.

Given hbf's towel wearing habits, they could cure me of this affliction. What's that Lucifer? Just out of the shower and can't find a towel? Nope can't find one either. You'll just have to stand there until you're dry. Naked.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2020 21:25

Evening. DH sent me back to bed (after I'd done all the chores and got DS off to school Hmm ) and I emerged again about midday, took more aspirin and all is fine again. (He also cooked me an omelette for lunch, so Star for DH.) Must remember to go to bed at a sensible hour tonight though.

What colour is the mini river fox now MrsG? One of my friends has a mud hound who launches herself into any muddy water - the more stagnant the better, and there's plenty of ditches round our way for that Confused She also then leaps out and shakes herself all over you, and she's not a small dog. Confused Said dog was helping with the field fencing and rolling in something dubious - "Chanel No.2" pour les chiens...

Fancy - I found the packed of lemon/line jaffa cakes this afternoon!!!!! OMG, I'd forgotten about them. Yum!

LetUs - you'll be needing the HBFs to sweep you off your feet and carry you wherever you wants to go. Feel free to choose your transport preferences from the options below...

'Stand Around' Fancy?! Surely you could think of better things to do that just make him 'stand around'?

FancyFancy · 24/09/2020 22:20

Yay for the unexpected biscuits Helen - as my DD would say, they are peng Grin

What can I say? I like a bit of delayed gratification.

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 25/09/2020 00:19

Nice pics ladies! Glad the head has cleared Helen they are bloody horrid when they don't go. And sounds like you got a bit of pampering as a bonus!

Is this a new season of Lucifer Fancy? I don't remember a bath house? Think it's time to catch up with the ones I've clearly missed. Hood to get to the vet too.. while you still can.

Secretly hoping for a lockdown so I can lie on the sofa and watch the musketeers though. So there's that to enjoy before lucifer in a towel. A bit fully clothed but Aramis's handsomeness makes up for it.

I'm sure you have all seen poldark, is it worth it? Did you swoon over Aiden what's his name?

And the dog is clean. I can barely believe it. Obviously now we are in the season of mud that won't last but I'll enjoy it for now. Serge (dog walker, French, gay, sounds better than it is) probably just drove her around for a bit with his other dogs. 😁

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2020 07:47

Morning wenches. Friiiiiiiddddaaaayyyyyyyy!

I couldn’t decide which method to use Helen, so I rode them all

Glad the headache went.

Was that from an older series Fancy? If so, I’ve seen that one when they were on Amazon.

Poldark definitely worth it in my opinion. I swooned (again) like a swoony thing at Aidan Turner. Doctor Enys also lovely.

at dog walker description. Also love the image of various dogs riding around in a car all day before being returned in pristine condition.

Breakfast and work beckon.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2020 07:58

Morning! It's raining, it's pouring... 4cm overnight and it's still hammering down.

at gay French dogwalker sounding better than the actual reality. There was much swooning over Poldark. So much that I even tuned in occasionally to see what the fuss was about Shock There is much moody staring and frankly you'd want to give him a slap in real life. But since we're not talking about real life, and he was FAF, he got away with it. (Plus horses and swords and uniforms were involved, so really, what's not to like?) The very first, original AIBU Musketeers thread had various opinions and listings for the cast (in a similar vein re. real life assessments) My favourite summary was along the lines of:
Athos - far too moody and alcoholic - can't be bothered.
Aramis - constant flirting with other women would rule him out
Dog* - probably spends more time on his hair than me - can't be doing with that
Porthos - seems actually quite good fun - worth a try.

  • as in Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds

Today I have to do the work thing - I think hot chocolate and hot-water-cats will be required to keep me sane. Though I have left spreadsheet hell for a week, so that's a Good Thing.

Where was that picture of Poldark in his rowing boat...? He may be needed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2020 08:14

Oh - morning LetUs Grin Cross post there and at dog walking reaction.

(Still raining.)

FancyFancy · 25/09/2020 12:45

It's season 2 of Lucifer I think - I am well behind!

Poldark is mostly worth it. But only for the faf. Oh, and the old aunt Grin it's all a bit melodramatic but AT is very fine to look at and the stocking scene alone is worth hours of watching people galloping moodily/frantically/wistfully over the same piece of Cornish coastline.

ApricotCrush · 25/09/2020 17:24

Afternoon. I've been packing all summer stuff away today as it's turned very cold, and I think the central heating will be on soon. Sad The mask factory/sewing room has also been dismantled and has turned back into the dining room.

Also why do things just disappear? I've lost a pair of glasses which have to be in the house as I haven't been anywhere in them. I have others but these are the best for all uses.

AT does nothing for me as Poldark, but I loved him as Rossetti in Desperate Romantics. Strange because he looked more or less the same. Confused Dr Enys was lovely though.

I know nothing about dogs or mini river foxes, having never had either. Grin

Enjoy the pink stuff Fancy and Lucifer. Have a good evening everyone. Wine

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 25/09/2020 17:45

Happy Friday Wenches! Another week of doing lots and getting nothing done! Hope your weeks have been slightly more more productive.

So reading between the lines poldark could go either way and I can't say I fancy him madly at first look. But will give it a go if I ever get sick of/run out of Aramis. So many women can't be wrong.

Speaking if which gave you seen that thread in telly where you are supposed to say who your hot male crush is? Jesus wept. I haven't dared mention lucifer or the musketeers any of who would wipe the floor with pretty much all of them.

So It is chilly and very windy in London but I have to take my about to go to uni niece out for cocktails. Our first ever grown up drink together so will be braving st Pancras which tbf is very nice these days. Starting at the German gymnasium I think which is neither German nor a gym as far as I know.

And walking the dog today myself. So far the long journey (5 min) from car to office. Then office to Tesco and back. And back to car. Fortunately she's 13 with little legs.

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2020 18:51

Evening wenches.

Spot on Poldark assessment there Helen and Fancy.

Ah yes, Desperate Romantics. I’ve still never finished watching that. I may get the DVD out on Monday when I’m off.

It has turned rather chilly hasn’t it? Fair breezy here too. Might even have to get my gloves out next week —because I’m a bit of a wimp—

Bit late for you Helen but here’s a [hot chocolate]

Not seen that thread MrsG. I won’t post, I don’t have enough time Grin Enjoy your evening out with your niece. 🍸 🍸 Your dog sounds like my older sister’s dog, but she’s a year younger.

Slowly getting used to DS1 not being here. It’s really really quiet. And —DH has to— I have to empty the dishwasher instead of DS1 doing it.

I might have a bath later but not sure about reading Troubled Blood in the bath because it’s so flipping heavy. I got Women Can’t Climb Ladders for my birthday so I might start that. Or Confessions of a Bookseller. Wild Friday nights round these parts.

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 25/09/2020 19:19

Sounds like a lovely Friday Letus! It's gale force a million winds and definitely coat and glove weather! Not sitting outdoors drink cocktails weather.

Tomorrow's daytime entertainment will consist of trying to swap winter for summer and trying things on realising 5% fits. And that the rest has shrunk.

At least the gloves will fit! Hurrah!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2020 19:31

Evening all.

Bonkers windy here, and lots of rain (7.5 cm in the past 24 hours). One of the apple trees (another one) is trying to lie down now. It's been propped back up twice, but keeps bouncing off them in the wind. I suspect it's going to lie down, then get it's top half lopped before we try to get it back upright and stabilised over winter. What we really need is a posse of HBFs to help out with that.

Work was work-ish and I had a last minute spreadsheet dumped on me, plus idiots overspending on projects and expecting me to sort out funding for them. FTFO idiots - it's not my job to dig you out of holes. #SisterHelenIsAnUnsympatheticAndFranklyIrritatedBitch.
(Obviously my replies to them were more diplomatic than that, because I'm a professional, innit.)

LOL at the various Poldark descriptions - esp the galloping up and down the same stretch of Cornish coastline Grin

Apricot - I once asked DH where the cheese slicer was; it wasn't in the drawer or the drainer. Turned out it was on the side wiht the choppingboard, because less than a minute ago I had taken it out of the drawer and put it there. Are your glasses on your head? Mine usually are. Sometimes I'll have one pair on my head and be wearing another pair on my nose. Just as well that DS is fairly self-sufficient these days, I wouldn't fancy my chances of keeping a baby alive these days - it would be left behind all over the place!

Oh RTFT - is that a tav acronym? (Read The Fucking Thread) RTFT should be easy these days, but I find I can't hold any information in my brain for any time and keep having to scroll back up to see what everyone's talking about. Oh well. I hope everyone has a fun evening of drinking/wallowing in the bath/perving etc etc...

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2020 21:11

Lots of my stuff has shrunk in the wardrobe over the last couple of years. What a coincidence!

Helen I’m fairly sure that if any HBFs appeared, you’d not be asking them to help with holding up a tree Grin

I spent ages after moving into a new (to me) office with cables trailing across the desk and using an extension lead for other plugs as there were no sockets near me. About three weeks later I spotted the two double sockets which had been —staring me in the face— obviously hidden from view.

Just been watching a TOTP 1981 show. I had a huge crush on Shakin’ Stevens back in the day. I looked him up - he’s 72. My main thought when I was watching Soft Cell and OMD and the rest was how much they looked and sounded like university students would have loved them at that time IYSWIM. Also The Specials were playing Ghost Town and all I could think of was Father Ted Grin

No bath yet. Realised I’d not put a wash on and my exercise stuff is in it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2020 21:28

Been watching Buffy - the halloween one where most of them turn into the costumes they hired from the dodgy costume shop. Grin

We seem to have football now, so I've requested another episode of Mandy instead.

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 25/09/2020 22:56

Reading this and having many lol moments.

Ghost town = father ted
Plug sockets mysteriously appearing when glasses are on. Along with everything under 3 inches (and no that's not a risqué joke)
Thinking HBFs are good for propping up trees. They are of course... but....
Cheese slicers moving of their own accord. It's a thing

Watching men behaving badly (back from cocktails.) around the Bridget Jones books era. Happy days 😁

Mandy ... fabulously brilliant.

FTFO .. an acronym I instantly recognise. 😮
RTFT I too thought it was fucking. Apparently it's full. I prefer fucking.

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 25/09/2020 22:58

But shaking Stevens? Just no. Sorry Letus. 😉
