yes it's fine by me franca. would love to meet up as well.
any sat except for the week from the 18th to the 25th of nov when we are in italy.
you decide where you want to meet and what you want to do as you are the visitor in london and I bet there must be millions of places where you might want to go.

would you be coming on your own? if you do!

Rosa · 23/09/2007 13:27

Yes Franca my sister is in the Uk . She lives about an hour from my parents .
SO you are coming to start the giro di carte, uffici, marca di bollo , and queuing .... Good Luck and bring some fiori di Bach to keep you calm !!

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2007 13:52

at fiori di bach. I tend to make them (grupy people working in the uffici pubblici) go all confused by being sickingly and overtly kind...

Ok, that's good, so we can start writing off that week (25 is my birthday ). Not sure whether I'll be alone or en famille. We'd like to take the children to the museo of storia naturale etc before going. Basically, if a friend of dh ci presta il suo appartamento it might be the 4 of us (but can still meet on my own). Otherwise I'll come on my own and sleep on the couch of other friends.

oh, os the same, if you are with the dc and want to meet with them we can even do that. I'm flexible.

what's fiori di bach ?

hotmed · 23/09/2007 19:27

i fiori di bach non sono quelle gocce che si prendono contro l'ansieta? penso di avere un paio di birthday parties in Nov, altrimenti libera, con o senza ds.

Rosa · 23/09/2007 19:31

I think you will just have to take pics of all of you and then e mail them to me ..I will be with you mentally if not physically.
Fiori di Bach are like calming effect herbal drops my BIL nearly drank a bottle before flying. I used them once before a huge presentation but I am not sure if it was the drops or the thought that I had taken them made me calmer !!

PippiLangstrump · 23/09/2007 20:13

I'm surprised no one ever suggested I take some!

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2007 20:35

Oh Rosa . I suppose we could organize another meet up in Italy, when Pippi is in Udine... .
Fiori di Bach, my former boss claimed she took them. But waht actually made her mellower were litres of G&T.

OP posts:
PippiLangstrump · 23/09/2007 20:55

yes we are all there at the same time aren't we. It'll make us so international to have a meet up in Venice, won't it?

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2007 21:00

how posh would that be? We could go to pellestrina to eat spaghetti alle vongole...

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2007 21:01

OP posts:
hotmed · 23/09/2007 21:17

I'll go sit with Dh as well. night night.

Crash is great!! enjoy!! (have I ever told you in my youth I spent a few days with that famous actor who plays the cop? and with that i leave you. )

hotmed · 24/09/2007 10:04

has pippi disappeared then?

francagoestohollywood · 24/09/2007 12:54

I think she's pretending to be very busy at work...

OP posts:
PippiLangstrump · 24/09/2007 13:57

lol a pretending to be busy. I was very busy but I've only been in one hour before childminder asked me to collect DD as she's not well. Again. had a big cry in the bathrooms (pg induced probably) della serie: it's too much, can't do it etc.
better now.

re MD. no hotmed no xxxx! (unfortunately I haste to add now!!) I was a bit of a 'goody goody' at the time and in love with someone else (an idiot as well, would you believe the waste?). still had lovely two days around umbria driving around in my old banger volvo. to make things worse I could have gone to NY to see him that summer and instead I decided to come to London. I was only 18, an ingenue' (sp). (mind you i wouldn't have met Dh so I guess it all worked out very well in the end - see still a bit naive.) he was my idol when teeanager!

hotmed · 24/09/2007 14:23

he was my idol too!!! i htought he was so rough...... how old was he then? i must say i saw him being interviewed a few years ago and he seemed a bit dim, so diappointing, still you wouldn't spend time with MD for his intelligent and witty conversation. Still give me 5 mins with MD any day or night....at 18 i must say i would have gone for it .

hotmed · 24/09/2007 14:24

how did you meet him?
hope your dd is better with some tlc and some telly.

PippiLangstrump · 24/09/2007 14:34

he was 32 at the time and was just after 'singles' came out (which i must have watched a million times back then)! my english was not as good as it is now so forgive me if I thought he sounded and looked the coolest thing alive (having said that he really was down to earth - no show off at all, he was travelling around italy on his own!).

I did watch him on a interview recently and I must admit he did not sound that 'sparkling' to me either. still, in honour of those days when his pictures where on my bedroom walls and nel diario di scuola in my heart MD will always be MD!!

remember 'the outsiders'?

PippiLangstrump · 24/09/2007 14:40

he was just sitting at one of the tables outside the bar my friends an I used to meet. I had a fit when I saw him. when he got up I followed him and he turned and said hello (pippi though he was going to knock her down!). he then invited my friend and I for dinner and we said... wait for it... 'no thanks we are going with our friends!! [idiot emoticon]] but you can meet us later at the same place'. when he left I wanted to kick myself forever. but he came back and was happy to be shouffered around and shown assisi and perugia and outdoors discos where people hid in bushes to smoke grass. he seems a very simple guy tbh. i've got lots of pics as well. I look so young and in awe though!! I def was starstruck!
