Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Shock Apricot - mugged by your own shopping! That all sounds very stressful Sad

Evening wenches.

I flipping love Houdini Hen! I reckon you could do a series of children’s books about Houdini featuring InconvenientCat Grin

Did you get your gardening done Fancy? How’s the hot compost?

What a complete pain in the arse re the parcel Apricot Angry. Your shopping tipping and landing on you reminded me a bit about that part in Frasier where Niles is ironing his trousers, sets fires to them and faints because he cuts his finger Grin. Hope you’re okay and of course Athos and/or Jamie will be on hand to kiss your bruises better.

Must have just been hayfever as I feel much better now. Work was busy. DS1 is doing my sodding head in with his laidback attitude/laziness re his university stuff and making sure he complies with deadlines.

I’ve realised I haven’t returned any clothes for a while so I’ve ordered a dress today. I don’t particularly like shopping online for clothes but needs must.

FancyFancy · 18/05/2020 22:48

Yikes apricot that sounds painful, I hope it's not too bad tomorrow

I love hearing about HoudiniHen too

You're not lazy ww, you just need to find the right motivation - hbf-based rewards

I did get my gardening done - lawn mowed & a bin top up. I emptied it on Saturday, adjusted the mix & added some heat. Temperature was 45 degrees this evening, which I'm happy with. Bloody hell I need more excitement in my life Grin

Walk was lovely, if longer than planned. Fabulous bird calls - lots of pheasants & a few cuckoos. The sound really carried. Well, either that or the cuckoo was stalking us across the field as the call was as loud wherever in the field we were.

Morning wenches.

the compost isn’t the only thing with a higher temperature

Grin at cuckoo stalking Fancy

Quite dull this morning. Looks like it could tip it down. Perhaps if it does....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2020 09:49

Morning. I retired early to the hayloft with a stinking headache, which finally went after another dose of asprin at 4am Sad Still, it's gone now. Blue sky and high cloud here - the clouds are winning according to the window in this room, but it's not cold.

Bonker dreams alert - actually, just stressy one really. One involved trying to buy some plants at a local garden centre, but they were all sold out; the other one was renovating a kitchen and the hob was flooded with water (apparently this part was ok and to be expected Hmm ) But then I realised that water was dripping from the roof, and when I leaned on the worktop, the wall cracked and water came spraying out of the wall Shock FFS subconscious. HOWEVER... I completely forgot to report the dream with FAF a couple of nights ago - which was very boring actually, apart from the fact that there was FAF. I was in a large open plan canteen, or maybe a BBC studios reception area, and the FAF was there and I got to eavesdrop on conversations. But I have no idea what the conversations were, and I didn't actually take part in any. Pretty mediocre attempt really, but still - FAF.

Other than that, no news.

Morning
Back to work
Glad the headache finally went helen. A dream with faf is better than a dream without......

Sunny here & lots of birdsong. Think the blackbirds must have a brood to feed as they are being very bold.

ApricotCrush · 19/05/2020 17:32

Afternoon. Lovely day here, we've been out in the garden with Magnums, sudokus and a video call with DD and DGS. The birds do seem to be louder lately, lovely to hear.

My hip is a bit painful from the fall. DH says he was doing his best not to laugh. Hmm I think I was in competition with Del Boy falling through the bar or Peter Sellers falling off the globe in The Pink Panther. Grin

I would be happy with that dream Helen, I dreamed I was doing an essay for an English exam and I'd written something wrong but couldn't find it. Confused

LetUsPrey · 19/05/2020 19:49

Evening wenches.

Athos says to give him a shout Helen if you get another headache and he’ll massage your temples . Pleased it went. And yes, a dream with FAF in it is definitely a result. I had one the other night that some of my teeth were crumbling and falling out.

What a wonderful sounding day Apricot! There’ll be an HBF along soon to rub your hip better.

I hit a bit of a wall at work this afternoon, sort of anxiety about nothing at all and felt a bit weepy. No idea WTF that was about. Got home, did a few bits and bobs and then thought I’ll just have a sit down in the sun for a few minutes, just quiet. About 30 seconds later DH came outside “what are you doing?” (in a nice way). Just having a minute. So he sat next to me and talked and talked and talked. Love him to bits but aaarrrrrggghhhhh

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2020 20:09

Evening. On the subject of birds, we have a clutch of wagtails hatched in the greenhouse, and some hulking (by comparison) doves that have just fledged.

I made a trifle for pudding yesterday, and DS didn't like it Shock Shock Shock Wierd, freakish child Shock Maybe that's what brought my headache on!

re anxiety LetUs - and re. DH chattering on. I think we should all go round Apricot's for magnums and sudoku - and to experience the medicinal skills of the FAF. Grin

Hugs and Wine to all wenches in need.

Watching The Pale Horse. Hope it's good. I really liked And Then There Were None but some of the other Agatha Christie remakes have been a bit meh.

I only have bonkers dreams at the moment, and they're so detailed Confused

LetUsPrey · 19/05/2020 21:04

Is that the one with Rufus Sewell in it Wicked? I found it a bit hit and miss, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it. Thanks for the Wine

There’s loads of birds sit on the roof, chirruping away, watching as I peg the washing out. I think they’re chatting away with each other to decide whether they’re going to crap on the washing.

I’ll send DH down to yours Helen. There will be zero trifle left. And whilst he’s there, as you said we’ll all go to Apricot’s.

I think what I need is an early night.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/05/2020 21:23

Yep, that's the one Letus. It's ok so far, a bit gloomy though. His wife is so perfect it's creeping me out Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2020 21:57

What oyu need LetUs, what you really need (and that makes no sense if you never read any Mrs Armitage books ) is a selection of HBFs to cater to your every need.

Here are some with a range of catering options...

IIR, Pale Horse didn't get the best reviews? It's relatively recent isn't it? But it has Rufus Sewell, and who needs plot if he's on your list? Grin

Hayloft...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/05/2020 08:39

Morning all. It's right and sunny here. Chickens fed, cats fed, bins out... now I can relax and look forward to BoringSpareRoomJob whilst supervising/helping with school work. Which is always lovely and relaxing and never stressful. Hmm

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 20/05/2020 08:42

Morning wenches.

You mean you’re not like the wife character Wicked? Grin (not the creeping people out bit obviously)

That’s the one Helen.

Just assessing my catering options. Hmmm, I’ll have.... all of them thank you. And I love that Red’s done Armie

Right the sun is shining, I’ve put a wash out, just need to finish my Brew and then it’s off to work, leaving both DC together with DS2 doubtless not doing any schoolwork until I get home. Never mind. Sunshine. Positivity.

FancyFancy · 20/05/2020 14:44

Afternoon
Lovely day here - washing on line etc etc
Also mercifully quieter - yesterday the cats were winding up the magpies a lot - they were furiously chattering at ScaredyCat's faux-innocent back for aaaages.

Oh I spoke too soon - some knobber is in a nearby car with the volume up. Why is always shit music in those situations? Never a blast of say erm, Muse?

ApricotCrush · 20/05/2020 16:59

Afternoon. Another beautiful day, lots of washing done.

Hope you're feeling better today LetUs. ...some of my teeth were crumbling and falling out... That's my reality. Shock Dentist fetched one out before lockdown and there are at least 3 more that are loose and I keep fiddling with them.

We watched The Pale Horse and enjoyed Rufus Sewell it, but I think it was a bit confusing.

Yes, why do people think everyone wants to listen to their music, it's so rude.

FancyFancy · 20/05/2020 17:39

I definitely spoke too soon - seems ScaredyCat was bothering the magpies again & they bear grudges. One followed her & spent a good 10 minutes chattering loudly from the back of one patio chair at a nonchalant ScaredyCat who was sprawled on the next chair. Don't the noisy buggers know I'm trying to work? Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/05/2020 18:08

Evening. Lovely and sunny and I've been in pretty much all day apart from moving the bins. FML. Also went demented at DS asking for help and then refusing to follow suggestions. FMAL, he is bloody hard work sometimes. Spent ages converting PDFs to Word for him (which never goes well anyway if there's any embedded images or other formatting in the PDF) so he could write his answer on the laptop. then he decided that the format was too much trouble once it was in word and he just wanted the PDFs printing. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh I have some very posh chocolates which I got for Xmas and eke out to 1 per day. I've eaten about 6 so far in desperation to try and stay sane.

Now I'm going out on my bike to work off the copious chocolate binge. FML, yet again.

Maybe I could take a ghetto blaster with me on my bike and infuriate the local population... Grin

Also, I hear you re the magpies Fancy. They are, as Malc would phrase it, twats.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/05/2020 18:44

She makes me break out in hives Confused One just knows she's a lunatic.

Day off tomorrow, something to do with Jesus.

WineWineWineWine all around

LetUsPrey · 20/05/2020 20:02

Evening wenches.

Grin something to do with Jesus, Wicked.

Ah yes, the twats with the everyone wants to listen to my “music”. No, we really really don’t. Fuck off.

It’s do difficult isn’t it Apricot not to keep prodding a tooth with your tongue when you know you shouldn’t.

Loads of magpies here too. Was trying to have a peaceful few minutes outside and they were going for it. Grin at ScaredyCat ignoring them.

You could have speakers in saddlebags Helen

Work happened and then I was home —and DH was a dick for a bit—

Sewing Bee tonight.
