I went to the post office today to pick up some parcels and they have all been lost andthe guy behind the counter shrugged and said that because of the strike they were not sorting mail and that lots of it had gone missing. He then turned his back on me and carried on chatting to his colleagues. There was a queue and all of us were told that our parcels had done missing.

As a public sector worker who would never go on strike over pay and is seeing cuts that really hurt society I am shocked by their complete disdain for the general public.

I do feel less part of 'it' now truth be told, at home everyone knew me- through the church rainbows (as does Ormirian on here), school, or one of my dad;s 16 siblings! Or the carnivals, of course- they were huge. here its the opposite. Dha nd I would head back somerset way when and if we can (DH wants to do a degree and the best one is cardiff, though yhe's keeping an eye to see what's on offer elsewhere). We wouldn't go backl to bridgwater- its not what we want for the kids tbh- but could go closer to home, say Street, where we're still known to poeple.

Not having lots of peopel saying hi all the time is a bit of a and was quite hard, Dh found it really difficult.
