I really should head to the hayloft.

Urgh. The Early Night didn't really happen - not by the time I finished tidying the kitchen and making sandwiches. Then DS appeared in bed at some point and was adamant that he didn't want to go back to his bed, and that he could hear people talking (3am, no-one was talking) and then I spent the night overheating and had stressy dreams that I was about to miss flights. FFS and all that.

I didn't do the washing hokey cokey and so it all got an extra rinse. Or two.

Need to crack on with some jobs, so that I can spend the evenings this week catching up on Poldark (sadly nae)

Evening. I have been productive today and booked theatre tickets And I went back on the stepper for the first time in weeks, for all of 15 minutes which is not nearly enough, but better than nothing, and obviously I should be nice to myself after last night's lack of sleep.

Work was ok, a bit tedious and I had to get my head round spreadsheets that I hadn't looked at for several months. One of those sessions where you look blankly at a screen and wonder: HowTAF did I come up with that figure, and what does that comment mean, and why are those cell shaded blue?!

We have started watching a new programme - because obviously we don’t have anything else to catch up on. It’s on Alibi and stars Chris Pine. I Am The Night. We’ve only done the first episode but very good so far.

I should head to the hayloft.

I have done the packed lunch thing. Now I'm going to grab handfuls of HBFs and chocolate and heading for the hayloft....

Top tip: don’t watch The Handmaid’s Tale just before bed. Had some very weird dreams along similar lines. How come it only usually works in a negative way? Why does watching HBF stuff before bed not prompt exciting HBF dreams?

FancyCat has to have another tooth removed today , taking her to the vets on my way to work. She has an abscess, so I hope this sorts her out - she is off her food as it hurts to eat.

Weather has also been lovely here, so I've been stuck in the office and tomorrow, when I'm meant ot be out and about, is forecast to be miserable. FFS.

In today's my colleagues are oblivious self-absorbed idiots with no social skills news, apparently I'm not worth introducing to new colleagues, or getting a drink for when you get one for everyone else. I then sat in the adjacent office and listened to hours of gossiping while also having been told that not-new-colleague was too busy to call people back.
Whatever.

I shall decorate with prompts for HBF dreams... I'm thinking we try to focus attention to get a result, rather than provide too much choice for the collective subconscious to flail over.

Thank you wenches, FancyCat is home & looking bloody ravenous quite sprightly. She charmed a few of the vets & vet nurses today with her floofiness and terrified demeanour, but then they don't get to see her food stealing ways and total hatred of all cats in the vicinity of her garden

No add to my woes today, a planned meet-up with friends has collapsed under the weight of double-bookings and bad weather. And my current freelance project is tedious beyond belief.

I would just slouch in front of the TV and stuff my face with chocolate, but then I would be full of guilt and self loathing too so I'm just not going to win tonight...

Sigrid was always extremely well mannered at the vet, not so much when we got home and I tried giving her medicine etc

I’m knackered, my knee hurts, I’ve got a headache, and I’ve been ironing for hours this evening.

Ah yes, the “I’m sweetness and light —more or less— for the vet but I’m giving you the cold shoulder when we get home and I will rip your hand off if you try to give me medication”

FancyCat is usually quite cuddly after being at the vet. Fortunately the meds can be added to food, so I should remain unscathed......

I have, much to my astonishment, finished my incredibly tedious project. Way ahead of schedule. Gosh. That leaves the rest of the night free for the HBFs then. Result

Morning. It's knuckle-dragger today. I stayed up a bit late to try and see meteors, but I didn't see any. But watched bats instead, which was fun. And Inconvenient Cat yowled his way down the garden to join me and was the happiest cat in happy-land to find me sitting outside in the dark just waiting for him to jump on me and practise catupuncture on me. So that was nice too. But now it is morning again and I'd rather be asleep in bed with HBFs.
