Evening. Long commute again today and tomorrow, so sadly not able to make the most of the peace & quiet yet.

Am most at your thunder apricot - felt like there should have been some here but, no The garden seems to be in turbo growth mode, so I can see that my weekend will be busy. Well Saturday will be, on Sunday I am away for the night with FancyMan.

More weird dreams which managed to be both boring and bonkers at the same time. No HBFs.

MiniHelen much improved since 4am when he was 103+ But still off school, and having revolting medicine shoved into him. On the plus side, he slept in until 8am, when DH woke me to tell me it was 8am. Bastard. "But you need to go to the dentist!" he says. Yes - but not for another hour and a half, FFS.

Anyway, have been to dentist and am a bit numb/lopsided (probably not lopsided but it always feels that way when half my face is numb.)

Oh, DH has had his credit card cloned or whatever they do. He went buy some stuff for the work he's doing in DS's bathroom and it was declined. He phoned the bank and apparently someone in Nebraska is having fun with it. Well done to the bank for spotting it.

HBF alert at the college

Evening. I've just had (too much) tea and I'm stuffed. DS has had a little bit but still has no appetite to speak of. Looks like he'll be off school tomorrow as well. Been cloudy and grey all day here so at least it doesn't feel like we're missing out on nice weather while he's languishing on the sofa. The new filling makes my tooth feel like there's something stuck in it, which is very irritating. I shall ask the HBFs for a thorough examination to get their opinion.

Not to worry apricot - I'm keeping an eye out for those bullseye bruises. It would be sod's law though, on top of DS being ill if i then keel over with something different. FFS at MrA's card being closed, but hurrah for the bank spotting it.

HBF LetUs? At DS1's college? Are we talking lecturer or another parent? (quelle excitement!)

Morning. The advantage of DS being Not very well is that he does sleep in... and thus so do we The cats and chickens aren't quite so impressed about their delayed breakfast though. DS is improving though - temperature is nearly down to normal, so fingers crossed, he'll be back to school tomorrow.

More for LetUs (and anyone else in need) You'll need to have a word with the HBFs about tiring you out properly tonight so you get to sleep - whirring brain or not.

Weather has been a bit meh here - warm enough but nothing approaching hot. Apparently we're going to all fry a the weekend though when the continent's heatwave comes for a visit.

In todays technological fuckwittery, I bought a new phone, unlocked. Finally got a new/replacement SIM card to fit it. The bloody phone won't recognise the SIM and I strongly suspect that it's not unlocked. And it's past the 14-day no quibbles return period. AND they've all gone home for the day, so all I cuold do was fire off a grouchy polite email asking WFT?? how I should return the piece of usless junk. FFAS

Hope that LetUs has managed to stay awake and isn't utterly wired on caffiene, and that Fancy has enjoyed her normal commute. Assume wicked is still buried under work Kylos cloak?

Have managed to stay awake, but am fading fast. Shall perk up for the HBFs if they do the same for me.

Hurrah for no cooking Apricot! Don’t think I’ve had extra rooms in the house dreams. I’ve had the going through room after room whilst trying to get out of a house dream.

Also hurrah for no more long commute and for improving MiniHelen —although it means less sleep—

I’m away tomorrow so I suppose I’d better pack.

Kitchen Wildlife #2
In Kitchen (obvs) making tea... small, well-fed little mouse meanders across the floor, utterly unconcerned in its own little world. We're just watching and spluttering at it's obliviousness. So I follow it into the ulitity room and block the door off so it doesn't have run of the house. And re-set the trap. And fetch a cat.
Inconvenient Cat looks bemused. The mouse bumbles up to him (he doesn't notice.)
The mouse walks past him twice (he doesn't notice)
The mouse walks underneath him (he finally notices and cogs turn slowly, so he bats at it.)
The mouse looks rather surprised and retreats. (he follows and sits down to stare at wherever the mouse went.)
At this point I left him to it.
After tea I came back. Stupid Cat was outside stalking something in the flower bed. The Mouse was bumbling about the utility room still.
