Have got this Bank Holiday weekend off to a cracking start. DS1 is refusing to go to sportingactivity this evening. DH said he would take DS2 to his sports lesson earlier so when I got in I told him that the traffic on the way to venue was manic and would get worse when the school traffic started. So off he set and then phoned quite a while later to say he was stuck in traffic and why did I not tell him to leave earlier? Then DS2 has just had a bloody tantrum for want of a better word because I told him off for being rude and using bad language. Still, I’ve got the second part of a root canal to look forward to on Monday

TBH I think Vinnie would have admitted defeat with this lot here tonight, especially DS2. The HBFs will have no such problem with me though, although obviously they should keep going.

It’s a beautiful day here. I am determined to have a good weekend, although I do need to take DS2 shopping for proper trousers that aren’t school trousers that he’ll probably only wear once.

Afternoon all. I have had a mego lie-in - hurrah!! except now I have to do lots of things in less time Being a cat-bed is not one of the things I have to do, except they think it is. Le sigh...

Afternoon - mega lie in here too. I have a stinking cold & feel rotten, so don't plan on doing much today - maybe a bit of pottering in teh garden to make the most of the nice weather & fresh air.

Spent much of yesterday evening looking online for prom dresses with DD, have ordered one, so fingers crossed it fits ok.

Not so much luck with shopping with DS2. Made a trip to NearbyBigTown to a specific shop. Tried on three different sizes in a pair of trousers that weren’t really right but would do - nope. Asked an assistant about the trousers we’d actually come for. They only have them online. Doesn’t say that anywhere on the website and his size(s) are sold out. Aaarrrrggghhhh. Went to Tesco - they only have jeans or joggers.

I’m now home watching an episode of Lewis that has lovely Douglas Henshall (Jimmy Perez) in it. DH is making fish and chips and I’m wondering if it’s too early for a drink.

Oooooh, last night I was in bed and DH was faffing around, and a spider came down from the ceiling on a thread thing right above my face. I jumped out of bed and think I head-butted it. I did that thing where you leap around and hit yourself in case it's on you. DH checked my hair and the bed but we never found it. It was one of those spindly ones which I don't mind, but I didn't want it on me.

I did a bit of gardening and housework this morning and then sat outside reading this afternoon. No sun, but it was quite pleasant. DH is working at DS's. All very boring really....

Sorry about the trouser shopping LetUs. Not too early at all.

Urgh re. unsuccessful shopping LetUs and Eeeee! Re spider Apricot - I don't mind the spindly ones either, but still, not on me thanks. I've been in the garden too Fancy - mowing, planting, weeding etc. Also, the baby blue-tits have gone, which is good because I may have a new swarm moved into that hive.

In other news, much drama chez ChateauSisterHelen - was mowing away round the flower beds and DH comes trotting out: "The bird box has gone!!" Cue much flailing while we tried to fix the box (with chick), back onto the tree (the fixing had pulled out of the box). Fortunately the parent(s) is/are still coming and going with food, so hopefully all is well.

My evening has so far consisted of running a service wash on the washing machine. However shall I contain myself.

We have spiders (spindly variety) dueling in our shower sometimes. They're up on the ceiling above the steam having a face-off while I keep a wary eye on them...

Bit of a bonus not being able to see much when I’m in the shower. The only thing I’d be happy to see in the shower with me is an HBF.

DH is watching rugby. I am knitting. Just building the excitement gradually.

I’m watching Thor. DH is upstairs with DS2 who is apparently not keen on going to bed. I’ve just heard him call DH a bastard. His vocabulary is really expanding.
