JanH · 07/09/2004 12:46

inside the boot?

tammybear · 07/09/2004 12:47

me too, my dd is always after mine or my mums keys. have you checked your kids toys?

NomDePlume · 07/09/2004 12:48

Me too. Hope you find it.

I suspect I'll be on here with a similar plea in the not too distant future, as I've only got one key to my car. No spare and a replacement/2nd key will cost us £100+ due to some chip inside the key....

lydialemon · 07/09/2004 12:49

Have you checked everywhere - even all the stupid places? What were you doing the last time you remember having them?

I am the world champion at losing keys!

Try: fridge, bins, toy boxes, laundry basket, ironing pile, under beds, sofas etc bread bin????

please help jenny find her keys
please help jenny find her keys
PLEASE HELP JENNY FIND HER KEYS!!!!!

Hope he's listening

Branster · 07/09/2004 12:51

handbag, purse, inside the car, underneath the car, behind a cupboard wher you might have put it on?.....

Lonelymum · 07/09/2004 12:51

Have you got a little one who might have taken it? My 18 month old is constantly taking things and putting them in the most obscure places. Once was looking for ds1's game boy in the kitchen bin and found my house keys at the bottom. At the time, I had no idea they were missing. Phew that was close!
Have prayed the prayer. Hope it helps.

Lonelymum · 07/09/2004 12:52

No no Lydialemon, that particular achievement goes to me: World Champion key mislayer for at least 10 years running!

earlygirl · 07/09/2004 13:47

CountessDracula · 07/09/2004 14:29

You may have done what I did - I went out to the car, opened it up and put bags in and put keys on roof (I know what a twat).

Went inside to get dd and dh. Came out, grabbed dh's keys off him and drove off with keys on roof. They fell off somewhere and never found them.

Angeliz · 07/09/2004 14:31

I've done it.

Twice i've left my carkeys IN THE DOOR of my car
God knows how it hasn't been nicked.
The other day i looked everywhere and when we asked dd (3.6) if she knew where the carkeys were she said "Of course " and got them out of her toy oven!!!

earlygirl · 07/09/2004 15:13

some good news found lost door key
not on roof of car(its not been nicked)
not in usual places
not in pockets-last time i used it i had pjs on
not in boot /car
must have fallen down somewhere currently searching the computer table area between wires junk etc
thanks im SURE ill find it soon

sis · 07/09/2004 18:41

The fridge? in with the post?

jampot · 07/09/2004 18:44

Said your prayer earlygirl - have you looked inside shoes? washing basket? Washing machine? think about what you did after you had the key. Does your car lock itself and therefore could the key be inside the car? What sort of car is it

JanH · 07/09/2004 18:48

I don't suppose you have a piano? Something we lost turned up behind the open lid which had been closed when whatever-it-was was put down...

Last time you used the car you had pyjamas on? How about under your pillow? Under the bed? In the laundry basket?

Branster · 07/09/2004 18:50

in your pyjamas pockets? if it has been washed since, could it be in the washing machine?
i'd like to know where exactly where you going driving in your pyjamas?!!!

earlygirl · 07/09/2004 18:53

no piano janh
jampot its a laguna the key is like a credit card which makes it more difficult to find and it has no key ring on it
the cars outside open
my mums coming round to help me search tomorrow i really dont want to have to pay for one
i last had it on friday morning i went out to car to get bag in my pjs i was going to a wedding and was hassled cause i hadnt had much sleep
i KNOW its here somewhere........
im going ti find it
im sure if it was outside and someone had found it the car would be gone by now

SoupDragon · 07/09/2004 18:55

Do you know who used it last?
Where does that person usually put it?
Was there anything like a bag underneath where that person puts it...?

I've found ours in DHs sports bag after several hours of searching. It had got knocked off the shelf into the bag on the floor and then put away with the bag.

Other obvious places are pockets etc because the damn thing is so thin isn't it?! Looks cool but is a PITA. Also think enough to slip down the back of places. Although it is. at least, nigh on impossible to lock them in the car or leave them in the car door.

SoupDragon · 07/09/2004 18:57

OK. PJs, no pockets... I usually hold the key in my teeth whilst rummaging around or throw it on the driver's seat. Or I leave it by the front door having unlocked the car from there (car on drive).

JanH · 07/09/2004 19:13

earlygirl, are you absolutely sure that was the last time you had it? I have done this with my purse and been in a mad panic because it wasn't where I was sure I'd had it last, and it turned out I had used it again later and left it somewhere else. Could you possibly have gone to car again after you were dressed and then put key somewhere else?

earlygirl · 07/09/2004 19:42

no jan cause the panic started before i was dressed
i couldnt think too clearly at time but this was def. the last time i used it(that morning )
begining to think ds has probably had it
have looked in toy boxes
need to find a torch to look in all those dark places
im still sure i will find it i know all the places it isnt unless ive missed it and youd think the morei look and dont find =less places left to look=more likely to find it iygwim
but the more i look the more i panic and think im not gonna find it but im determined i am

How long between using it and not being able to find it?
