I spent the afternoon gardening, so my back is, as ever, a bit trashed. I have also named one of the chickens - for the past year or so it's been labouring under than name of "One of the new ones/hybrids" aka Indistinguishable brown one and Indistinguishable brown two.
Anyway, I found one of them out and pecking about the main garden on Friday lunchtime - picked her up and put her back over the fence. Found her out again today - herded her back in via the chicken coop. Then got back to digging... 10 minutes later, Houdini Hen was pecking about at my feet decimating out earthworm population. (I gave up at that point at let her stay out with me.) To be fair, Houdini Hen isn't very Houdini-like. It's hardly difficult to get out of their run if you want to - a quick jump and a flap and then she's out. But I've yet to catch her in the act. And while 'Amelia' (after Earhart) is quite a cute chicken name, it doesn't have the same descriptive abilities of Houdini.

I need a bath... and a new back.

Evening. Got up at 7 to work, then took a nap. Then moved around some furniture and unpacked some boxes. Now watching an early ep of Midsomer Murders where the new DCI Barnaby plays a horny gardener.
