We've done playdoh, messy play, treasure hunts, videos, dressing up, etc etc etc til the cows come home. Kids have cabin fever and so have I.

I just want to go outside!!!!!!

I am loving the way it is making my garden grow without me having to water it

I am not loving the way it starts in torrents every time I have to go somewhere on the bike

MamaG · 25/06/2007 12:14

I was peed off as I travlled to work, knowing I had washing on the line and DH wouldn't bring it in.

Got into work to an email from DH saying he's brought the washing in

I will be providing the medal at approx 18:00 hours

laneydaye · 25/06/2007 12:15

Well the kids were sent home from school!!! They loved it in the flooded streets coming back home... I dont mind the rain unless i have to go out!!!!

WigWamBam · 25/06/2007 12:16

I'm sick of trailing backwards and forwards to school in the pouring rain, and getting dripping wet every time I have to venture out.

I'm also sick of drivers who think it's fun to find the biggest puddles they can and hit them at top speed in an effort to drown pedestrians.

I would love to be inside with dd doing playdoh, messy play, treasure hunts and dressing up

Get your wellies and waterproofs on, Pennies, and get out there for some puddle-jumping!

expatinscotland · 25/06/2007 12:16

It's time for them to learn the most important lesson my parents ever taught me: the art of amusing oneself.

Leave 'em to it!

puddle · 25/06/2007 12:18

I finally invested in a fiendishly expensive waterproof coat with hood a couple of months ago so I am actually quite enjoying the rain!

LadyTophamHatt · 25/06/2007 12:19

seriously??

It only rain.....go outside if thats what you want to do, its not sulphic acid

snowleopard · 25/06/2007 12:19

I've had enough of it - yes indoor play is fun, puddles are fun, thunderstorms are fun. But I want to take DS to the beach and have picnics in the park and barbies in the garden, and I want to waft around in my summer tops, not my hideous enormous men's waterproof (MUST get myself one of them flashy Boden ones!)

nannyogg · 25/06/2007 12:20

yes I am at the end of my tether. My frigging conservatory's leaking.

arse.

rosealbie · 25/06/2007 12:20

well i am because it's coming through my celing, through my light fittings and through my new conservatory

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 12:20

Franny our garden is thriving too, however the grass is in dire need of cutting, and the rain has revealed a bdl leakin guter. Ds has twice in the last few days jumped in a puddle, slipped nd landed on his bum, so soaked through and big bruise. Also getting behind on the laundry as it takes an age to ry in our house for some reason. Expat, if I leave ds to it he general locates a writting implement for somewhere and decorates the wall/caroet/furntiure/tv screen etc

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 12:21

badly leaking gutter (I think my keyboard is on it's way out)

laneydaye · 25/06/2007 12:22

Well we cant see the grass anymore its disappeared under a puddle!! My neighbours is even worse ! lol

expatinscotland · 25/06/2007 12:23

Sounds like some of you need to move to Australia.

Seriously, after having lived in a semi-arid climate, I'll take this any day!

expatinscotland · 25/06/2007 12:23

Washable crayons, COV!

I'm a firm believer in leaving them to it.

snowleopard · 25/06/2007 12:27

Although it's not that cold, we have to put the heating on to get the washing dry.

It's not that I don't like rain, it's that I have my expectations of the seasons and I look forward to them. October is for puddles and storms, June is for picnics and wafty tops - and yes dealing with the garden. Our hedge is so overgrown you can hardly get through the garden gate, and you get soaked by dripping leaves - but we can't trim it because it's too wet. No hanging baskets this year because I can't get out to do them and put them up. It's just so monotonously soggy.

my conservatory has leaked since we moved here, 18 month ago.

and the windows don't fits in their frames properly.

I still don't mind the rain.

Nbg · 25/06/2007 12:35

Love it.

Am pregnant and I have been dreading the hot weather, so this is very very welcome

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 25/06/2007 12:37

P'd off. Just got my first garden, decking, BBQ and garden furniture and I can't use any of it!

slowreader · 25/06/2007 12:38

Road out of village at least 6" under water, people down the hill sandbagging their front door.

Aloveheart · 25/06/2007 12:40

i have got wet feet today

speedymama · 25/06/2007 12:44

Last week I watched the weather forecast hawkishly and I did two hours of gardening when there was a break in the weather plus I hung out two loads of clothes to dry.

Garden looks beautiful and green with all this rain whereas last year it was brown and parched.

I also put on the waterproofs and went searching for puddles with DTS in the park - great fun!

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 12:46

Can't move to Aus expat, morbid fear of snakes and spiders. Don't really mind the rain, but have just had our garden relandscaped and was looking forward to spending time in it with ds, rather than inside where he makes so much mess. On days we spend the majority of the time in the garden the house is so clean and tidy at bedtime.

lou33 · 25/06/2007 12:48

i have to take ds2 horseriding this afternoon, shall i cancel it?
