Who was the very first poster on MUMSNET?

Just been browsing, as you do, and realised that so many people I "knew" aren't here any more. Can't even remember a lot of the names but whenever you logged on, there they were. I do remember people like Rhubarb and Custy, Twinkie, Aloha and a few others. Are we all old Mumsnetters, how long has it been going, "cos I reckon at least two/three years now and if you're an original, like me, are you still posting or have you just changed your name?!The site has changed so much (for the better), I think) but when I started logging on, there were only about ten or so threads, none of this category stuff. Ah well, feeling old and signing off. Welcome to any new people signing on tonight-this site really can help you, it makes you laugh/cry, it gives brilliant SN advice and sometimes it's just >>>>>> silly!!

No idea, but whenever I found Mumsnet I managed to read everysingle post there was over 2 evenings, now i think it would take 2 evenings just to work throught one evenings threads!
If you look at the othersubjects archive and scroll right to the bottom maybe youll rfind the first thread, ill leave it to you as its your mission to find out!

Eulalia is an old-timer... I went to bottom of other subjects (and OS archive), but the date stamps are all messed up, and I can't get search to work any more... so come on, you clever sparks, where is the first thread ever?! Justine, Carrie...?

I'd love to know the answer to this too. Who was the first person ever to post other than Carrie, Justine and Rachel? And are they still here? I've been here about 2.5 years so not even remotely since the beginning.

I always thought that C, J & R. must post with the rest of us, but surreptitiously under other names so they don't get picked out. I would, anyway.

Or maybe they have real lives??...LOL!

For some reason (did I hear it at the book launch last year?), I think J,C & R had a few different names each and yoused to speak to themselves and also roped in friends to pad out the membership.

I would love to see some of the first threads too. I've been here since early 2002 and can remember being able to read all the active conversations and keep up with them, those were the days! Now I can barely keep up with the ones that interest me!

my first post was in early 2001, it was a life saver for me. It used to be a serious addiction for me, I'm a bit more in control now though.
I smile now when I see poeple asking the same questions I asked when I first joined. Parenting never changes.
I miss Lizzer too and Croppy and tigger. there are a few others who used to post a lot but seem to be a bit quieter these days.

I go in waves. Whenever you see me posting a lot, I'm probably not the happiest camper there is.

My first post was 29 May 2000. I remember it as it was the in the first of living in London (having moved from Chicago) and I'd already found a friend and nannyshare through the noticeboard.

I was nervous of posting for the first 3 years or so....
