Morning. I've seen part of Blade Runner 2049 on a plane, but then I fell asleep and haven't quite managed to start, or even finish watching it again. DH says that we do have it somewhere.

Today I must doooooooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttt things, like plant stuff in the garden. But not just yet. Just now I need to slump in a heap contemplating important things in life. Like sleep and HBFs. And what we are going to do by way of a summer holiday. Those things are best done sitting down with my eyes shut. This is purely to aid concentration and so I don't get distracted by bloody Fortnite which DS is playing on the xbox. Nothing to do with a quick snooze.

Holidays. Have realised this morning DS1 has no swimming shorts as I suspect last year’s are too small. See also shorts (I think he has one pair), and short-sleeve shirts/polo shirts. Jeans, t shirts and hoodies are fine thankfully. It’s okay though because he loves shopping. That can be for another weekend.

Well, we've put all the plants in. Not really the best weather for it, but I'll have to keep on top of the watering. DH is in a panic over getting everything done because he won't be able to do anything after Wednesday for at least a fortnight and then not much for a further month, including driving.

We rewarded ourselves with a Magnum and a cuppa.

Now we're going to have a barbecue. Just us, can't be bothered with anyone else.

Nearly Poldark time. I’ve been watching something called Hidden. BBC4. I’ve watched the first episode and was very glad it’s summer and not dark nights.

Gardening done or at least, plants were planted and chicken wire put up round the veg to keep the rabbits out - or at least make it harder for them to get in. DH has been an idiot and been out inn the sun without and sun cream. He is predictably burnt and I'm very unsympathetic, because he's old enough to know better.

We didn't have a BBQ because it was easier to just re-heat yesterday's leftovers. That done, DS is in bed and I'm slumping on the sofa.

I was going to have a magnum today, but never quite got round to it. But we did have home made ice cream for pudding, so that's a gallon of double cream chugged down. I figure I'm not going to starve without the magnum.

Morning, had a frantic start to the day with emergency bake (because for some reason I thought that it would be a good idea to make some cakes for DS to take one in his packed lunch) and emergency shorts-creation - (hacking off the legs of school trousers and turning them into shorts.) All that on top of the usual livestock and child-wrangling, packed lunch making, and breakfast.

Nothing like creating pressure for myself, but it's so revoltingly hot I'd have felt really bad sending DS off in trousers (again)

No ice cream was made last night LetUs - I might pick some raspberries today and go for raspberry ice cream though. Ot that might have to wait for tomorrow - the ice cream bowl needs to be in the freezer for 24 hour beforehand.
