Do people like to Flirt?

I didn't ask for one, just suggested it. I think it gives everyone a boost if they are flirted with even if there is absolutely nothing in it. Sometimes I feel like the unpaid slave at home and its wonderful to receive some attention from someone else, especially someone of the opposite sex. I don't want anything else, I'm happily married, but it makes me feel good.

PS. If my name disappears, I might have changed it in case DH starts taking an interest!

Just had a thought. Kylie does it with her eyes. However, a) I look nothing like Kylie(unfortunately) and b) the eye thing is v. difficult to do 'virtually'. Nigella also has a knack but is a bit too 'marketed' for my liking.
(Eyebrows raised slightly to camera in a bedroom eyes come I could be your friend sort of way. Any suggestions girls ??

When we were 15 my friend used to be able to get men to blow their car horn at her which always amazed me. She'd say 'right watch this' and "beep beep". She didn't flash or anything but she just had a knack.

I'm always flattered when I get a wolf whistle, I know a lot of people don't like it, but I do - as long as it isn't followed by a load of sarky comments (you know the sort - nice bum shame about the face). Its nice just to know that someone is interested enough to look at you (eyes meet across a crowded dance floor and all that). Its such a shame that my young, free and single days were all filled with the desperate desire to settle down and have a family, I could have had such fun. These days I get a bit naughty when I'm really drunk (extremely rare occasions) and have been known to nip the odd bum in a nightclub but generally I am a very restrained (boring) 30-something going on 60. Sorry to spoil any illusions SimonHoward - or is a winky too flirty?

I like to do it given the option but...I'm 21, single and an sahm, so everywhere i go, i go with 2 kids in tow. You become invisible when you're pushing a buggy. So i don't get to flirt.

So theres me...

One small point...isn't simonhoward the only male among ?how many? women. does that mean he has to flirt with all of us??? not that i mind either way but...?

I get more members of the opposite sex interested in chatting to me while I push a baby around then ever before. I was introduced to this by a friend that used to take his baby brother out at lunchtime where all the office girls and students went for lunch and his chatup rate was amazing. Even DW refers to me taking DD out for a walk as bird pulling time now.

Yes Simon Howard, but it only works for men. Men push a baby round and become magnets for women, women push babies round and become invisible. Theres just something very attractive about a man with a baby - guess its something about showing their sensitive side...it does it for me...

Actually, I got whistled at walking down the High Street pushing DD in stroller the other day. I looked up and made eye-contact so I know he meant me and no one waiting at the bus stop. I'm just old enough (34) to be more flattered than offended, nowadays.

I truly hope this doesn't sound racist, as it's actually the opposite - but when I was pregnant the only attention I got was from black men. White Englishmen seemed incredibly embarassed by my big tummy (eek, she's had sex! eek, she's going to have a baby! Don't mention the war!) and practically fell over themselves trying not to make eye contact, look at the bump etc. Some would even blush asking me how I was. Black guys seemed much more relaxed, would ask after the baby, tell me I looked nice etc. I even got a few wolf whistles and lots of big smiles and 'hi's' in the street. It was really noticeable. It's obviously a cultural thing and I wonder if anyone else has experienced this? I was so surprised.

When I was pushing my daughter in her pushchair, a gang of teenage boys playing football stopped and starting calling over "Sexy momma" It was great!!

It isn't just you. My DW also seems to be invisible when out with DD.

As for the cultural thing about not asking about or talking to pregnant mothers, I can't say I have ever ignored them but I would not have made a point of asking about the bump. I thik most men just don't worry about it or as was said earlier get embaressed.

It could be the fact that a lot of African cultures look on larger women as a sign of sexiness and fertility whereas in the UK a large woman probably is not usualy viewed as sexy, I have no idea why not, a woman with curves is way more attractive than a stick insect.

I do know that at one of my jobs a fair number of women are refered to as Yummy Mummy's due to them having kids but still looking very sexy.

Maybe more British men should loosen up and find larger women attractive?

I'm going to start getting really jealous now, this thread was my idea and I want some of the action! I'm a true Scorpio, hot headed, jealous, stubborn, possesive, and passionate about the things I believe in. I bet you all feel really sorry for my DH don't you - especially as the PMT is kicking in too now.

I don't have the energy to be a psycho and in real life I'm actually quite shy. Wouldn't dare flirt with anybody in the flesh unless I knew them really well.
