what an entertaining night

Third lot of washing in the machine since I braved opening DS2’s case last night.

Such exciting things planned today. DS2 gets his new glasses, then we’re off to get a new carpet for his room, and then - the pièce de résistance - a visit to Screwfix. Truly I am living the dream.

Oh LetUs - sounds thrilling! I only have one load of washing on, and no carpet buying. But I do have tiles to cut and yesterday I went to the local, hardware shop and bought 25 staples (of the sort you attach wire to fence posts). I love that shop - you can buy the exact number of screws and nails and all sorts - count them into a brown paper bag from a huge box where they're all loose. None of that pre-packed, plastic-packaged stuff. It's an utter delight.
I may need to get a life

Oh, and I completely forgot to say. Baddersezes favourite philiosopher has been tweeting again. Mr Charles says:

Errands done. Special painting on plaster paint and gloss bought, carpet ordered, glasses collected, hot optician sneakily glanced at. Just wish I looked less like I’d slept in a skip.

My mission for the rest of the day is to find something to wear for DH’s Christmas party.

There is a competition at SaturdaySportingActivity tonight. DS has decided to enter, DH had already volunteered to help with stuff. I am going to go along to watch DS play silly games with other SaturdaySportingActivity widows and orphans.

Have worked out hot o cut the tiles - no clever shortcuts appeared on YouTube, but the light is going, so I think it will have to wait until tomorrow...

Ordered it in two different sizes Helen. Tempted to get a felt tip out and change the label in the dress I have upstairs to a smaller size FFS why can’t sizes be the same across shops? Mind you, I’ve previously bought two different pairs of trousers from Next in the same size and found one fitted but I couldn’t even get the other pair on.

Hope you had gloves on when trying to cut the tiles. Wouldn’t want an injury and be unable to use your hands

After yesterday's fight with the computer, today it was the printer. It's just been into the shop because it was printing odd lines everywhere and I don't know what they did but it wouldn't print from the computer and DS wanted a job doing NOW (his printer has broken) and so I spent another 2 hours fighting technology. Life was so much less stressful when we had no computers or internet.

You need a very big Apricot. We had lines on the bottom on our printing at work. One of the bosses asked “what are these lines?” Told him they were free and he was welcome
