i was just wondering is it the eating of the sausage roll that is bad or the eating in the buggy that is bad? would it be ok to give ds organic carrot sticks in his buggy?

Oh my god, I would have had palpitations. Did you hide them behind a copy of Heat magazine so that no one could see???

RTKangaMummy · 14/03/2007 15:27

TESCO have got sausage rolls on special offer this week

nappyaddict · 14/03/2007 16:06

in my defence i hadn't eaten anything and it was the first thing i could find! go on shopping bags you know you want to join me in eating whilst standing at the bus stop. you can eat some nice organic strawberries if it will make you feel better?

Don't do organic stuff, seems like a rip off to me. I could join you if we could sit on the bench at the bus stop to eat our chips???

nappyaddict · 14/03/2007 17:29

oh ok is that allowed? so if i am sitting inside a bus shelter i can eat my chips in the peace that you won't find me utterly scummy, but standing is a no no! i think you should write me a list of rules

OP posts:
deaconblue · 15/03/2007 06:58

Sitting is good, standing or walking is bad. Does all this make me sound a little odd???

nappyaddict · 15/03/2007 14:28

ahhh but children are sitting when they are in their buggies.

right so next time i must remember to sit on the wall by the bus stop to eat my chips. duefully noted!

They may be sitting but the pram is moving. I never said my mum's rules were simple

maisym · 15/03/2007 14:59

what's wrong with sausage rolls?

deaconblue · 15/03/2007 15:04

Don't start it all off again maisy. This has kicked off lots of times because self confessed snobs like me don't like the idea of sausage rolls being eaten by babies in prams and others don't like my snobbery
I think that explains it, Nappy??

maisym · 15/03/2007 15:05

never realised it was such a shocker!!

deaconblue · 15/03/2007 15:06

indeed, mumsnet members can be divided into sausage rollers and non sausage rollers

squatchette · 15/03/2007 16:06

How long before someone mentions fruitshoots?Place your bets

deaconblue · 15/03/2007 16:22

tee hee, saw a woman buying about 40 fruit shoots today and must confess to a slight turning up of my nose

nappyaddict · 15/03/2007 22:01

ooooh now that's interesting. what about drinking a fruit shoot walking down the street? i must admit i quite like the blackcurrant ones!

OP posts:
deaconblue · 16/03/2007 08:18

better than a can of Tennants extra I suppose

Tortington · 16/03/2007 08:24

not necessarily

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 12:08

ok if not fruit shoots what about a nice bottle of that oasis stuff. but then again i suppose drinking out of a bottle is a big no no in itself

OP posts:
deaconblue · 16/03/2007 14:07

no, don't mind drinking out of a bottle as long as you sit down to do it. Always struggle a bit in crowded pubs as really should be sitting down to drink my drink

Hassled · 16/03/2007 14:11

Before I discovered MN I used to eat Baker's Oven sausage rolls walking down the street. Thank goodness I've seen the error of my ways now.

Lovecat · 16/03/2007 14:12

Damn you all - I've just gone and bought a Greggs sausage roll (no doubt under the subliminal influence of this thread) and dd wanted a bit - so I gave her some - and she adored it... so I was a scummy mummy all the way home!

And I've been so lentil-weavery (love that phrase!) until now... I'm obviously on the slipperly slope to chugging special brew out of the bottle holder in the buggy canopy...

deaconblue · 16/03/2007 14:48

Do you know what, perhaps I will join you. Kept trying to stop ds crawling on grass because he might get dirty, realised was becoming my mother and let him. Perhaps it's time to let go, live a little and try a cheeky sausage roll
