I am so stunned that she thinks she can make comparisons with her life and yours My friend has 3 small children (recently widowed) and I have 3 small children and a partner who works away all week. There is no comparison. I have someone at home 2 days a week. I have someone to phone and complain to when I have a dodgy moment. I have someone to wipe my nose and tell me it will be ok.

When my friend was widowed she used to wonder if it was better than divorce, worse than divorce, better than an amicable divorce, better than being 'abandoned' for hours on end. She also had a bad time in the evenings waiting for her dh to open the door and come in. YG, it's hard to know what to say when you are gobsmacked!
