Cheers EDBD WineGin🍸🍹🍻

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 26/05/2017 22:22

Evening! Your dinner sounds yum, as always, EDBD!

Sassy, what a shame your friend might cancel. I agree it would be lovely if we all lived near to each other, but sadly you'll have to make do with a virtual 🍺🍹🍸🍷🥃Gin from me!

Had quite a busy day, but DS2 is majorly spotty. Really don't think it's chickenpox as he was a bit spotty yesterday but I thought it was a reaction to suncream, even though it's a hypoallergenic one. Although the spots have multiplied dramatically, they're not fluid-filled like chickenpox spots are and I seem to remember that they usually get that way within hours of first noticing them. His temp is normal, but he has been very clingy and whingy, although that could be the heat. I've kept him indoors all day, as I didn't want to put more suncream on him and stripped him down to his nappy, so I don't think it's heat rash. I'm wondering if it could be a reaction to his MMR last week? I did ring the doctors and the lady said that it could be, but that it's nothing to worry about if it is. I said I'd keep an eye on him and ring 111 if I was at all concerned.

I'm hoping they'll be gone when he wakes up tomorrow! 🙏🏻

But in some really good luck, DH won a Dyson hot & cold fan in his work prize draw today! What flipping timing! So it's currently blowing away and will hopefully cool my room down, as it's currently 26 degrees in there! Although I did just manage to set it at maximum blowiness on the hottest setting about ten minutes ago and couldn't work out how to make it stop!!! Trust me!

Hope you both have a good night, catch you tomorrow.

Hope DS2 ok Malcolm and his spots have calmed down by the morning.

Very good luck in the raffle! V jealous...it was 32 degs upstairs earlier Hmm

Ditto, sleep well x

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 27/05/2017 06:16

32°! 😨😰🌞🌞🌞

Morning! I'm the only one awake! 😄

SassynSane · 27/05/2017 08:29

I know, ridiculous temperature. I have huge windows so it's like living in a greenhouse. Just checked temp in DDs room and it's 25 degs and currently the sun is on the back so her room is shaded & I drew the curtains last night even though she's not here 😲

Morning Brew V tired this morn. Didn't get to bed until 2am (watching inane film) and we had big thunderstorm in the night so that woke me and have been awake since 7am-ish....💤 😫

Gorgeous day though so will drag self up shortly for breakfast outside 😊

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 27/05/2017 22:21

Evening! DM and EDLad came for football and supper, they've just left. ⚽🍗🍸🍺🍻🍷🍹 I'm in bed now. 😴

SassynSane · 27/05/2017 23:57

Oh EDBD that's fabulous news. I am so thrilled for you! In fact I feel a bit teary.... Great he's out of hospital and well enough to visit Smile

Had relatively quiet day. Friend came over this eve for catch up and wine (she's had some upsetting news so wine was flowing). Was nice to see someone Smile

Right shattered and need sleep. Sleep well x

SassynSane · 28/05/2017 10:10

Morning Brew😎☀ How are you both this morn? I have just got up! Sunday lie-in, such a treat. Am about to get my breakfast and sit outside to enjoy it.

Any nice plans today? Malcolm hope DS2 is ok? Hope we all have peaceful Sundays x

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 28/05/2017 17:32

PJ day here today. Putting DS2 to bed now, DD will go at 6.10. 😴😄🍸🍺🍻🍷🍹

SassynSane · 28/05/2017 17:41

On the Wine this end! Enjoy EDBD Wink

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 28/05/2017 22:53

Hi all, bit of a mixed weekend so far.

DS2 was v spotty and v v whingey yesterday but temp was normal, so nothing to do other than TLC. Did get a bit wearing though, when he kept screaming (and I do mean screaming) every time I put him down, particularly when DH was in the other room watching the FA Cup Final! Then DH and I ended up having a stupid argument mainly because I was ticked off at having to deal with DS2...you get the idea! Anyway, all's well that ends well, as they say, and things are fine again now.

DS2 much less spotty today 🎉🎊🎉🎊 and slightly less whingey! Plus my parents came over for a BBQ, which was lovely as they've been in Scotland for the past couple of weeks. They stayed until the early evening, so we had lots of time together.

Then DD1 decided to kick off again Sad this time with DH over something or other, I wasn't in the room at the time, I just heard the fall out. I knew it wouldn't be an easy road, but I just wish it wasn't over such silly, petty things all the time. It's so futile!

Also we had Sky Q fitted yesterday, which is pretty good. DH has been after it for ages, but I was resisting because I had so much stuff to watch on the planner! Anyway, after the sky box died a few weeks ago, I lost all of my recordings, so he could go ahead, much to his delight. And the crazy thing is, it's actually cheaper than our old plan, which is always a flipping bonus as it's just one thing after another at the moment, money-wise.

Sorry to hear your friend's had some bad news, Sassy, I hope she's okay? I'm sure an evening of wine and setting the world to rights will have helped no end!

And 32 degrees in your room?!!!!!!! 🔥☄️💥🌞 Crikey, you win! Agree keeping the curtains drawn is a good bet. We get full-on sun in our bedroom from about 4pm onwards, so I tend to try and keep the windows open but the blinds shut when I remember.

EDBD, I echo Sassy in that it's amazing news that ED'sLad was able to come over for dinner! What a lovely, normal, thing to be able to do, as I know that normal for him has been the hospital for a lot of this year. I'm so pleased for you both. Do you mind if I ask whether he has any other treatment scheduled, or now that he's had the op, is that it now?

Wishing you both a very lovely, relaxing, Bank Holiday tomorrow!

Hmmm...def a mixed weekend Malcolm. Pleased to hear DS2 is ok though as was bit worried you hadn't posted! BBQ sounds lovely Smile Sorry DD1 has kicked off, hopefully isolated incident and rest of weekend / half-term will be ok.

Sadly my friend found out her DM is poorly and won't be getting better, so whilst I made sure she left with a smile last night, it's going to be a hard road for her Sad

Yep was scorchio here! Cooler tonight thankfully.

Same to you too lovely 😎

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 29/05/2017 05:42

Morning! Waiting for the DC to wake up. 😄

SassynSane · 29/05/2017 08:15

Morning lovely Brew

Grey and miserable here this morn. Boo! Cleaning it is then....

Hope you both have a fab Bank Hol Mon Smile

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 29/05/2017 20:52

Had lunch in the Sainsbury's café, DS2 had chicken nuggets, chips and peas, strawberry Pavlova tart for pudding, DD had macaroni cheese, a chocolate éclair for pudding, I had a ham, cheese and pickle sandwich, strawberry tart for pudding, had steak au poivre with Jersey butter mash for supper, DS2 was in bed by 6, DD's in bed now, so am I! 😴🍗🍟🍓😆

SassynSane · 29/05/2017 21:49

Today's menu sounds lovely EDBD! Much more boring this end. Couple slices of toast mid-morning and salad with some foccacia for supper followed by a bit of mango. Had v quiet day. Went back to bed this aft though didn't sleep, just chilled out a bit. Working tomorrow and Weds then off with DD for rest of the week. So looking forward to her coming home 😊 Hope your day been ok Malcolm?

Sleep well EDBD!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/05/2017 23:51

Evening!

Weather was pretty pants here too, overcast and grey in the morning, then rain in the afternoon. Didn't stop DD3 from wanting to go outside to play with her water tray (which isn't even outside anymore, it got put in the shed yesterday evening and her toys brought inside because we knew it was going to rain) and then throwing a MASSIVE strop when I said no! However she was soon back to her usual sunny self again and I let her watch her current favourite-always-on-repeat TV programme, Stick Man. So she was happy! Happy toddler, happy Mum!

I can't remember if I mentioned that DH and DS1 are going to some university open days shortly. The first one is this weekend, at Exeter, and they're travelling down on Friday afternoon as it's just over 3 1/2 hours from here.

And DD1 is going to my parents overnight so that means that once the younger three are put to bed, I have the whole house to myself for the night!!! That NEVER happens, in fact, I don't think it ever has. Although DH has had the odd night away, DS1 has always been here too (not that I mind, I actually really enjoy his company) - but still, an evening of freedom! Sort of. So I'm going to stay up really late watching my box sets (currently on Billions, rewatching Series 1 before I go on to Series 2 as I found it so confusing first time round!) and work on my latest crochet project. Rock n' Roll, people - Rock n' Roll!!!!!!!

On a completely different note, tonight I had jacket potato with cheese and beans for my dinner and I thought of you, Sassy! Everyone else had leftover BBQ stuff, but I just couldn't face it two days in a row.

EDBD, your food choices are delicious, as always!

Is everyone off for half-term now? Or are you working tomorrow, Sassy, seeing as how DD comes back on Wednesday? Have you heard from her at all? I'm hoping she's not as emotional when she gets back as she was previously, for both your sakes. And I'm so sorry about your friend. I can't even begin to imagine. I love my mum so much, I just can't bear the thought of losing her.

If you wanted to, and if it's cancer-related, you could always nominate your friend's Mum for a Candy's Hug if you thought it would be appreciated? She doesn't have to be a MNetter.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Been sleeping rubbishly (I know that's not even a word, but it sums it up perfectly!) recently, this morning the birds woke me up at 4.22, then I woke up again at 5 convinced it was around 8ish and was really confused when I saw the time! Didn't really get back to sleep much after that, just a bit of light dozing. So I should have gone to bed earlier, but now I don't feel tired!!! Angry

Hope you both manage a good night's sleep!

Oops, sorry Sassy, just seen the bit in your post where you said you were working tomorrow...😳😳😳 Don't know how I missed that one!

Morning Brew Well I hope you slept better than me last night Malcolm, tossed and turned a lot and woke up early. Rubbish! No, not heard from DD but then he doesn't tend to get in contact when he has her. They haven't gone away so she's literally down the road. Yes hoping she comes back happy. She finds the transition tricky sometimes so we'll see...

That's a lovely idea re my friend's mum, it is cancer sadly but she also has other stuff going on which has impacted her memory and understanding so not entirely sure she'd be able to appreciate it or enjoy it. So sad. First of my peer group to face losing a parent (friend is 40).

Ooh, Friday night party chez Malcolm Grin Hope the Uni visits go well! Exciting stuff.

Jacket potato, cheese and beans....yum! Although BBQ stuff sounds lovely too!

Right. Best crack on with my day. Hope you both have good ones and catch up later x

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 30/05/2017 14:39

Hi Sassy - no, sadly I didn't sleep better than you! Didn't get to sleep until gone 2 and then was awake at 5! 😴

Still, I'm having a few rare minutes of peace and quiet right now (hence the posting! 😂). DD1 has voluntarily stayed up in her room reading and listening to music 😱 and is in a really lovely mood!!! The aliens have clearly taken the original DD1 away and have replaced her with this one. It's lulling me into a false sense of security!

Have just painted DD2's toenails in various lurid shades which she picked out, so now she's sitting at the dining room table (tile floor as she is such a fidget bottom and I don't want nail varnish on my carpets!) with the iPad until they're dry.

DS1 is up in his room and the two youngest are asleep. 🤗 And....relax!!!!

I'm sure it'll only last minutes before someone needs me for something or other but honestly, just this small amount of quiet is lovely. DS2 has been screeching and screaming all morning, he's been hideous!

Hope you're both having a good day!

Just walked in from work this end...sooooo tired 😫....hope your peaceful moment lasted longer than you anticipated and all is still calm and relaxed your end Smile

I am def having early night tonight. I could fall asleep now tbh!

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 30/05/2017 18:38

DD's on the Isle of Wight, DS2 and I had steak and ale pie for lunch and king prawn and scallop risotto for supper, putting him to bed now. 😴😆🍤

SassynSane · 30/05/2017 19:05

I feel like you might need to put me to bed soon too EDBD! GrinGrin💤😫

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 30/05/2017 19:52

It lasted about 15 minutes, Sassy!!! Then DD2 got bored of waiting for her nails to dry and started calling for me!

Sorry you're so tired - definitely have an early night!

EDBD - prawn and scallop Risotto?!!! 🤤 Yum, yum! Hope your DD is having fun in the Isle of Wight, it sounds like fun!

Hoping we all get a good night's sleep for once!
