It's one of those nights. I'm awake. 😴

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 18/05/2017 05:00

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. 😁☕

SassynSane · 18/05/2017 07:00

Oh no EDBD....obvs with my own sleep issues entirely empathise! Passing back some of the Brew you shared with me yesterday! Wink I slept a bit better last night. Woke up early hours but did drop off again thankfully!

Yep had it with cucumber, some Wensleydale with cranberries and the requisite mayo...was lush to be fair...

Can't see the shawl pics on my phone so will look online later but what a lovely idea Malcolm, am sure your mum will be absolutely thrilled Flowers

Hope you both have a good day Smile

SassynSane · 19/05/2017 06:46

Morning all Brew Well that was frustrating! Clearly something up with the mobile site yesterday as was unable to post anything from the afternoon onwards...anyway...

Woke up a bit last night and tired this morning. Think am coming down with something too as feeling dodgy...joy! Running PTA stuff after school today too...arghhh...but at least it's Friday! Any nice weekend plans? We literally have a free weekend so looking forward to not doing too much other than chilling with DD Smile

Managed to see your pics on pc yesterday Malcolm, lovely bright colours, makes me think of a South America vibe. Am sure your DM will be thrilled Smile

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 19/05/2017 07:15

Morning! Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather, Sassy, are you able to take it easy today?

How are things with you, EDBD?

Any weekend plans, either of you? I've got a pedicure tomorrow afternoon which was a gift voucher from my birthday, then on Sunday we have a christening to go to. Not sure how I'm going to keep DD3 and DS2 from running amok in the church, I'm hoping they'll have some kind of children's area!

Have a good day!

Evening! Just eaten a pizza and drinking a beer, sod it, it's Friiiiidaaayyyyy Grin Day been long. Full on work wise and then straight to school to run event and didn't get home in the end til 6.30pm...hence treat food for DD & I as not got the energy or inclination to cook this eve!

Love a pedicure Malcolm, lucky you! I am booked in for another massage on Tues, bliss. Weekend quiet, lovely to have no firm plans. There's an inflatable park thing sprung up locally for kids so might take a look at that tomorrow but other than usual domestic stuff having a chilled one!

Hope you've both had a nice Friday Smile

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 19/05/2017 20:27

Evening! I spent a whole day with no toolbar at the bottom of the screen, and unable to tap to get it back, it was magically there this morning! Then I got sidetracked by a MIL thread. 😳

In bed now. 😴

SassynSane · 19/05/2017 20:35

Yep same this end EDBD and couldn't post either. Basically mobile site was down...frustrating! Tired also...but still got beer to drink Grin Hope you sleep well 😊

SassynSane · 20/05/2017 07:50

Morning Brew Late night / early morning for me. Watched the "What Would Beyoncé Do?" comedy thing on BBC1 by total chance, was just going to go to bed when it came on and then got slowly drawn in. It was really good! Luisa Omielan is def my kinda woman, haven't come across her before but she's brilliant. I laughed, I cried so much I had mascara down to my chin and at the end I was up and dancing in my lounge singing into my beer bottle Grin Would def recommend her!

Anyway didn't go to bed until gone 1am...yawn...but nice chilled day so can take it easy. Hope you enjoy your pedicure Malcolm. You up to much EDBD? Is EDsLad home yet?

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 20/05/2017 22:46

Pedicure was great, thanks Sassy!

I've been having problems with the mobile site as well, although I thought it was because not only is our wifi playing up but yesterday we had no 3G either!!! Angry

I'll check out that comedian, Sassy - sounds good!

DH just made me watch the Keith Lemon & Paddy McGuinness version of Dirty Dancing. I was in stitches! They nailed it 🤣. One of my all time favourite films, I must have watched it thousands of times and the soundtrack was on constantly in my bedroom as a teenager.

Hope you've both had a great day! I'm off to a Christening tomorrow, hoping that the two youngest behave themselves!

Went to DS2's friend's sister's birthday party, back home, all in bed. 🍻🍷🍹😴

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 21/05/2017 06:43

Morning! I'm the only one awake here! 😂

SassynSane · 21/05/2017 15:01

Afternoon! So I have the dubious claim of rising earlier than you today EDBD! DD came in at 4.45am Shock Unheard of! Did manage to doze a bit but ended up being v early start. Had some new garden furniture delivered early this morn so spent hour or so putting that together. Now at inflatable theme park that has sprung up in famer's field of all places at the end of my village. DD wearing herself out whilst I sit & MN in the sunshine! Win-win Grin

Hope you're both having a good day? Hope christening going ok Malcolm Smile

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 21/05/2017 22:34

We're all in bed. 😴

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 22/05/2017 17:13

Hi, everyone!

Still having intermittent wifi problems and there's a problem with the mast in our village so I either have no service or only 1 bar. It's so frustrating!

The christening yesterday was lovely, thanks Sassy, although it was a bit challenging keeping them from running riot in the church! Luckily there was a tucked-away corner which we used, although it was pretty dusty! DS2's knees on his navy trousers were white after just a minute or so. But hey ho, never mind, I just shoved them in the wash when we got home.

Today is absolutely glorious here. The washing's out on the line, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. It's a good day! DD2 has got a walk with the Brownies in the forest this evening, what luck with the weather. Imagine if it had been last week!

Hope you both had a good weekend too?

X

Weather is gorgeous isn't it? I am embracing the sunshine...I am wearing hot pink cropped jeans, bright pink t-shirt and shoes....it's a strong look! Grin

Weekend lovely. Spent a lot of time sorting out garden so that's looking lovely now and chilling with DD. Had a relaxing Monday too. Met up with friend for catch up lunch which was lovely. Forecast for rest of week is lovely. Lets hope it stays like this for half-term next week!

Glad the christening went well and you have had a good weekend 😊

SassynSane · 23/05/2017 02:21

So sad for everyone in Manchester Sad So grateful to all the people and emergency services doing everything they can to help. Despicable bastards! There are no words.....

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 23/05/2017 04:25

Morning! Have given up on sleep, will get up at 4.55. 😔

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 23/05/2017 06:57

Oh my goodness, I've just seen the news! How utterly, utterly terrible. Those poor people.

Agree with you, Sassy - utter bastards.

OP posts:
SassynSane · 23/05/2017 07:12

22 people dead / 59 injured. It's utterly heartbreaking. Was up til early hours as couldn't sleep once had heard the news. It's awful! I am due to go to Adele next month in London. I am not so sure now. I know that's what they want to happen, for it to impact on people's psyches as much as their physical bodies. But children? It's vile! Angry

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 23/05/2017 07:58

It's unbelievable, Sassy. Sometimes I despair at the evil there is in the world. But then I think of the people in the crowd who would have helped complete strangers there, and the emergency services who spend their lives helping others. And then I realise that the smallest bit of light breaks up the darkness. I truly believe that most people are inherently good and it's just a tiny, tiny minority who are this evil. It's just that their actions disproportionately affect us and I just can't comprehend how anyone can target children and teenagers, I just can't.

As for the Adele concert, I wouldn't make any decisions just yet. My gut instinct is that it's probably the safest time to go to a concert as security will be so tight, but obviously you need to decide for yourself.

DS1 was due to go to Paris a month or so after the attacks there and his school cancelled the trip. I absolutely understood where they were coming from, but I thought it was such a shame.

Thoughts with all those affected by last night's events. Sad

I have been virtually hugging my friends all morning. I am extending those hugs to you and EDBD too. We all need friends and hope Malcolm you're right. Have been posting gratitude on other threads about the sheer strength of humanity also on show last night. My neighbour (also a good friend) works in the industry. She knows most of the people who put the show on in the MEN last night. Thankfully all her friends and colleagues are safe. She also knew some of those killed at the Bataclan.

I do agree with you Malcolm. Humanity is inherently good. But the evil minority? Truly shocking Sad

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 23/05/2017 09:45

Oh, I just can't stop crying. These children are the same age as my children, doing things that my children would do.

I can't even begin to imagine the pain of the families of those killed and injured, I really just can't.

I just feel so, so sad.

So glad that your friends are okay, Sassy, how awful for them though.

Hugs to you both, Sassy and EDBD.

My friend has gone into work today and is busy planning summer festivals that people from all walks of life will attend. She wants to carry on doing this so folk can go to events that bring them joy. Today I applaud her 'fuck you' attitude!!

I am with you Malcolm. It is heartbreaking. In RL we're strangers but you're still my friend and I feel your pain xxx

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 23/05/2017 10:26

I actually first saw this on here, got to watch about 10 minutes on the news before DS2 came in and demanded Power Rangers, have been catching up on the Manchester thread and Facebook.

I have no words. 😱😢
