DS2 slept through! Perhaps he heard me discussing my Cunning Plan and realised he simply couldn't compete with such a Master Genius!

But why do I feel more tired today than I have on any of the mornings where I've been up for half the night?!!! Confused

Hope you both managed a good night's sleep too.

Have a good day!

Morning! I had a big breakfast today. Easter Grin

Woke up in the early hours but just kept my eyes shut, got up at 4.30. DS2 woke up at 5.10, because it was getting light. Easter Hmm

SassynSane · 26/04/2017 19:11

Hi both. Manic day this end. Spent all day catching up on emails & don't feel like I achieved anything Hmm

Glad DS2 slept through Malcolm 👏 Hope DD3 was less grumpy today. We had snow too yesterday! Maybe our snow dance had a delayed reaction? Grin So cold at mo! But DDs hay fever beginning to kick in poor thing Sad And it was games morn at school so she was out in the cold breathing in the pollen. Not a good combo!

How's your day been EDBD?

Am currently multitasking and MNting whilst watering my neighbours garden....am freezing & cos not entirely concentrating have got wet feet....joy Confused

Anyway hope you've both had a good day 😊

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 26/04/2017 22:59

Evening!

Manic day here too, Sassy, although DM and DF did pop round for a bit this morning as they got back from visiting my brother and his family in the States yesterday.

Typically, the builder who was meant to be coming at 4.30 to quote for a (small!) extension knocked on the door a few minutes before they arrived, as he found himself in my street for another job and so wanted to kill two birds with one stone, as it were. Which was fine, and I was happy to do it, but it did mean that the reunion with my parents was a bit more chaotic than I had intended! Oh well.

It's just been one of those days where everything I had planned happened in completely the wrong order, because of other people and not something I could change. Which meant that I had people who were meant to come in the morning coming in the afternoon and interrupting nap time, and jobs that I had planned to do in the afternoon then didn't get done. You should see the state of my washing pile and it's only been a day!!!

Hopefully tomorrow will be calmer for all of us and a bit more productive. Have a good night!

Morning Brew

Nice to have your parents home Malcolm Smile

Sleep disturbed a bit last night and woken with awful period pain Sad but gotta get up and get on as at work today (would much rather be curled up under a blanket on my sofa but can't sadly). Hope you both had a good sleep and have good days!

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 27/04/2017 09:58

Sorry to hear you're in pain Sassy. There's a lot to be said for implants. I haven't had periods since I got pregnant with DS2.

I had my usual sleep, woke up in the middle of the night, got up at 4.40. DS2 seems to wake up with the dawn, 5.20 today. Easter Sad

I'm having a cheese and ham omelette today. Easter Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 27/04/2017 10:45

Have just turned around from sorting washing to find DD3 with an open Sudocrem pot and it smeared all over her face, clothes, the sofa and the carpet...😫 It's going to be one of those days!

Sorry you're not feeling good, Sassy. It's awful when you've got to get up and carry on regardless. Really hope you feel better soon. Can you put a hot water bottle on your tummy while you're sat at your desk?

How's EDBD'sLad doing, EDBD? Been thinking of him and hoping he's out of hospital.

See you later!

OP posts:
SassynSane · 27/04/2017 11:16

Thanks both. Sitting at desk drinking tea, ignoring the dragging feeling. It'll pass. Joys of being female hey?

Mushroom omelette for us for supper this eve EDBD Smile

Have to say the Sudocrem image raised a smile from me Malcolm....hope you're de-glooped now!

Right...back to work, catch up layer x

SassynSane · 27/04/2017 11:17

Er....later....Confused

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 27/04/2017 20:49

Just about to tuck into jacket potato with cheese and beans, Sassy - been thinking about it ever since your post yesterday!

Hope you're feeling better?

EBDB - hope you've had a good day?

OP posts:
SassynSane · 27/04/2017 20:53

Evening. Hope you've both had a good day? Mushroom omelette was off the menu this eve, DD had cooking club afterschool and came back with pizza and wanted that instead. Not enough for two so I had some stir-fried veg. Just sat down after her bedtime. Watching a bit of Masterchef. Want to go to bed as still feeling rough but gotta get motivated as need to bake a carrot cake for work tomorrow (colleagues birthday). Hoping Masterchef will motivate me GrinCake

SassynSane · 27/04/2017 20:54

X post Malcolm.....baked potato, cheese & beans....buttery, cheesy, beany plate of heaven! 😋 Enjoy x

SassynSane · 27/04/2017 23:54

Morning Brew Just about to get up and get the cake finished off. Shattered. Already focusing on tomorrow's lie-in....Cake & Brewx6 at work later Grin but it's Friday (yay) & am picking up my new glasses / sunglasses after work & school today...quite excited as been wearing same glasses for over 4yrs so nice to have a change and a new pair & looking forward to having some decent prescription sunglasses too! Right this frosting isn't going to do itself so best get up....hope you both have a fabulous Friday!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 28/04/2017 08:47

Morning! Carrot cake sounds delicious, Sassy! I'm very impressed by your baking dedication.

Totally get what you mean about the new glasses, I've had the same pair for 5-6 years too and feel like I could do with a change! I was putting it off in the hope that I would somehow be able to afford laser eye surgery, but I think I need to accept that's just not going to happen unless I win the lottery!

Enjoy picking up your new glasses, I'm sure they'll look fab.

Got DD2 off school today - she went swimming with school yesterday and cake home crying and saying her ear hurt. She's had/has grommets from a couple of years ago, they usually fall out after a year or so but can stay put. Anyway, I gave her Calpol and thought no more of it but this morning she came into me crying because of the pain. As it's a Bank Holiday weekend (why do these things always happen then?!) I've made an appointment with our GP. I'm a bit worried water could somehow have got into her inner ear and could cause a nasty infection if it's left. Don't really fancy a trip to A&E this weekend!

Hoping it'll get sorted without her being in too much pain.

Hope you both have a lovely day!

SassynSane · 28/04/2017 09:52

Morning Malcolm sorry to hear about DD2. Poor girl, earache is horrid. Hope she feels better soon. My DD is suffering with hay fever / a cold and is bunged up with a bit of a temp but is in school today. She's with the ex from tonight until Sun so hoping he lets her have some downtime.

Cake itself looks ok but frosting was so runny this morning and didn't have time to redo so instead of iced cake, it's more like cake with sauce! Shoved it in the fridge at work and hoping for the best!

Yes looking forward to my new glasses later 😊

Catch up later with the verdict on my cake! Confused

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 28/04/2017 10:20

I'm having scrambled eggs and bacon today. Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 28/04/2017 22:48

Hope the cake was okay in the end, Sassy - a bit like Bake Off when they have to bung it in the freezer and hope for the best! I'm sure it was utterly delicious, though - lucky colleagues!

Hope your DD is better when she comes back to you on Sunday. Was she okay about going over after the emotional fallout when she got back last time?

DD2 has got an infection in her ear canal. She's got some antibiotic spray to try and stop it before it gets to the inner ear. She's most upset about the fact that she's been told she can't go swimming with school next week!

I'm slightly worried that her eardrum still has a hole in it from where she had grommets a couple of years ago. The grommet fell out ages ago, over six months, but the hole still hasn't healed up. The GP didn't seem concerned but it just doesn't sit right with me. DD2 never hears us first time, we're always having to shout or repeat ourselves. I did take her back for a hearing test in September, which was okay - it makes it more difficult that 9 times out of 10 she's in a world of her own! I think I'll just have to keep a really close eye on things.

Anyone doing anything nice over the Bank Holiday? We're going over to my parents for Sunday Lunch but apart from that, we've nothing else planned.

Hope you both have a good night and see you tomorrow!

OP posts:
SassynSane · 28/04/2017 23:44

Hmmm...the fridge didn't change the consistency...it was still like sauce or sweet gravy! People were cutting themselves a slice and then spooning said sauce over it Grin but despite that it was very tasty 😋

Poor DD2 Malcolm, good job you got her to the docs for antibiotics. Hope she improves soon bless her! DD was happy to go this eve (first thing she said when she woke up this morning was 'I can't wait to see my dad tonight!' Hmm) but I do worry about the consequences of some of the stuff he says to her longer term. I am going to revisit it with her & make sure she's ok with it all.

Had friend over this eve for curry, drink and catch up (she's just left) & catching up with another friend tomorrow eve. Domestic stuff tomorrow and Sunday. Weather depending on Monday might take DD to local county show Smile Nice to have relaxing weekend Malcolm.

Hope you've had a good day EDBD?

Night both x

SassynSane · 29/04/2017 08:42

Morning Brew Urgh, curry breath from hell this, good job we're not catching up for a real life Brew I'd gas you both out with the fumes!

Forgot to say yesterday, picked up my new glasses (they're fab and v pleased but will take a bit of getting used to as have been used to seeing myself in my old pair for over 4yrs & these make me look different) but my prescription sunglasses arrived without a tint on them....who wears clear sunglasses FFS? Confused So they have had to be sent back which means at least a week's wait if not longer, plus another trip to go and pick them up...sigh....

Anyway hope you both have a good Saturday Smile

SassynSane · 29/04/2017 08:44

*from hell this morning Wink

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/04/2017 09:06

Aaargh, that's SO annoying about the sunglasses, Sassy! I bet your new glasses look amazing, though!

DH always moans about curry breath the next morning! 😷🔥 I've got a lovely slow cooker recipe for a chicken curry that honestly tastes just as nice as the ones at our local curry house, but he rarely wants me to make it because of work the next day! Might do it one weekend instead, although then he moans that the house smells!!! I just light a load of smelly candles and use mouthwash, but DH is obviously of a more delicate constitution than I!

Glad you had a lovely evening with your friend, it sounds so nice. I love doing stuff like that, although it always means we have to go out, as my house is such a madhouse plus DH, lovely as he is, gets in the way!

Had such an awful night last night. DS2 woke up around 1.15 and just wouldn't settle. All he wanted was to be in bed with us, but then when he was, he wanted to play. After he woke DH up by slapping him round the face(!) 😂 he put him back in his cot, but he was still screaming. I gave him a bottle, changed his nappy, still wouldn't go to sleep. It was nearly 4am before he eventually went to sleep in our bed, but then I kept waking up worrying he'd suffocate, even though he's 1 the week after next and practically walking! At around 4.30 I managed to successfully transfer him back to his cot but I feel like death this morning.

I just don't know what to do. He doesn't give up, he'll just keep screaming until I pick him up. I did try leaving him last night, but after nearly 30 mins I just couldn't take it anymore, I was nearly in tears myself.

Then DD1 threw an almighty strop when I went to wake her for ballet this morning, she's now refusing to go and I just don't have it in me to argue, so I've just left her and told her that she can stay in her room today if she's going to behave like that.

So I'm up and dressed for no point now - although the babies are up and needed their milk and breakfast, I could've done that in my PJ's! 😩😡

Right, I'm off for another Brew!

Have a good day x
