Well hoo-bloody-rah for a fun evening.

Ds went upstairs complaining that he'd popped his ear and now it hurt. Dosed him with bit of calpol and came downstairs to help with tea. DH proceeded to slice the cabbage tip of his thumb off and went very pale. So now I'm trying to patch him up and go upstairs to get medical supplies, to find that DS who is sobbing that his ear hurts... top-up DS to full dose of calpol, patch up DH, try to cook tea while DH has little sit down. DH announces that his thumbs has bled through the gauze and DS is wailing again. Ended up phoning GP friend to convince DH that no, we do not want to put the sliced bit of thumb back on (not after 15 minutes and sitting with the chopped cabbage) and just keep putting pressure on it; get DS into our bed for a cuddle and read book to him to distract him; Get joined by DH whose plaster has fallen off, plus inconvenient cat who is being a distraction and cheering up DS something grand. Also try to eat some tea without spilling it on the bed, whilst still reading...

DS is finally asleep (in our bed) and I need to finish tea, be a cat bed for Stupid cat, and bandage DH up so he has a comedy thumb. FMAL.

If I actually liked the stuff, I would now be mainlining
