Oh wenches, I have had a morning of utter stupidity. Decided to go to supermarket after dropping DS at school. So bundled him into the car, and then drove straight off to the Supermarket with DS in car with me... One quick diversion later and I dropped him at school - all good. Then I got back in the car and realised that I didn't actually have my bag, or even my purse to do any shopping with. I have come home and will try again later (when I've picked DS up from school) as I am clearly not competent to be let out into the big wide world by myself this morning.

Not a particularly nice journey home from work - some massive puddles, sleet & snow and snow settling near my house. Looks like they haven't gritted the roads - I hope this means they know it'll all be gone v. soon

Evening. Ds is in the bath, DH has football on TV. I managed to not only remember my money, but als the library books, so DS and I went shopping and librarying after school. And even better, the local library was having a clearout so I came away with a selection of books to read in my own time without worrying that I've forgotten to renew them and they're overdue

On Wench-Weather-Watch, to quote VeryBritishProblems British snow looks an awful lot like rain Or it does in this neck of the woods anyway. Less sledging and more lifejacket weather.

Not much snow here, about 20 minutes worth. Such a fuss about nothing. I remember one year in the 60's when we didn't see the lawn for three months, and my Mum and I were without fresh water for 10 days because the top tank was frozen up. We had to rely on water from the tank in the airing cupboard but were worried that would run out. My boyfriend at the time (DH) used to bring as much water from his house as he could carry on his bike. We danced around the lounge when we heard the tank filling up.
