Oooh apes how do you prune a wisteria? We have one at my new house, it's all over our extension roof and I have no idea about gardening at all what I should do with it. I dont want to just hack at it and inadvertently kill it, it is so pretty in summer.

Madame, that's exactly what I did, just hacked at it. It's still covered with leaves, so I cut it back to this year's growth and it saves getting the leaves up later. You can't kill them, they come back with a vengeance, at least ours does. I had to lean out of the bedroom window to do the top bit and it's still disappearing over the roof.

Well I've done no exercise today, but think a good rub down would still be advisable for er, preventative means - who do you suggest for me badders?
