bads they normally only go for references at the end of the hiring process, when they've decided on the person they want - and ime they always tell you when they're about to contact them, to check it's ok.

Also, people do go for jobs - employers just have to accept it! Saying you need longer hours / want career development would be totally acceptable. If they're bothered, they're wankers.

Badders go for the job if you're interested in it and the hours work for you. Current employers will be used to providing references.

If we do something fun today I'll let you know. I've got lunch with family, but no other plans and DS only wants to play on computers/watch TV. Will have to drag him out kicking and screaming. Or at least he'll be having a jolly good very tedious moan and winge about it.
