As above. It's late, and I'm too tired to be clever or witty. (Business as usual then Hmm )

If anyone needs me I'll be in the hayloft with Athos Grin

ApricotCrush · 13/10/2016 11:04

Morning.

Sorry you're ill again Madame. Brew Cake Chocolate

Our heating tends to come on in the mornings and evenings, and when DH is out playing golf. He doesn't feel the cold, I do. Grin

What is she knitting? Must get my needles out, I do love knitting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2016 12:33

I am having a day of "Why wasn't this paid?/Why did you wait 6 weeks to tell me that?/What do you mean we needed this yesterday?/why/why/argh!!!!!!!!!!! Oh FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Mouse - I presume you're after the one in the hoody, not the one channeling Henry 8th crossed with an albino crow Hmm Grin

Apricot - can you knit more blankets for the cwtch cupboard? The current ones are getting a bit threadbare. I can't knit for toffee. I might be persuaded to if better incentives were offered Wink

Their cloaks look nice and warm...

Hello! Looks like brexit is finally hitting the fan....wonder how people will feel when they realise they can no longer buy pg tips in tesco. And this is only the beginning...

mouse I cant now but will look at your new man later Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2016 13:25

Never mind the PG Tips - will no-one think of the Marmite? Shock
Will I have to shop in Waitrose instead? Shock Shock

Maybe Brexit will make it too expensive to film things abroad, so they'll be forced to film future HBF enterprises at wench-suggested venues round the UK Wink

Ooh Jim Gordon from Gotham, madame? I like him. I want to be Lee and have her gorgeous swishy hair.

Does it need to be said - the hoodie wearer not the pudgy bloke or sinister Henry VIII in the crow mask.

Oh wenches, I've just had shitty news from schoolmouses SALT. She's leaving in 2 weeks time. After 5 fucking therapists that didn't quite work, we got her and she was fantastic. And now she's fucking off and they don't have a replacement or an interim therapist. I'm going in on Monday to talk to her and make an appointment with the principal. Do I have any grounds for complaint? To the education board? The school governors? I am so fucked off. If I had known she would be here for less than half a term I would have seriously considered the specialist speech unit school. Angry

I'm now drinking bells in a tea cup and staring morosely at assassins.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2016 14:40

Oh FFS Mouse Angry re. SALT situation. I have no idea about complaints, but I doubt there's anything you can do. FFActualS Angry No ideas other than make a note of what you want to say in the meeting so you don't forget anything.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/10/2016 19:34

What's with the PG Tips and Marmite?

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2016 19:49

Just in. Am so hungry and both DC are being epic PITAs, but it's okay because DH was waiting at the door to go out as soon as I got home Hmm and DS2 still has pages of reading to do. Fucksake.

Am Angry for you Mouse

MadamedeChevreuse · 13/10/2016 20:23

Oh mouse Sad Sad Sad what a total bummer. Any chance you can transfer him to the specialist school?

Def tell the school all your concerns and keep on them until they hire someone decent.

Are there any other positives about the school? He's quite happy there no?

ww the value of the pound has crashed so badly because of brexit and teresa fuckcunt may that tesco has announced it cant afford to stock Unilever products (inc pg tips and marmite).

FancyFancy · 13/10/2016 20:28

Evening wenches, I've had a chippy tea, so am feeling especially stuffed atm.

ww - Unilever say that the falling pound has raised their costs & they're looking to increase the price of the goods they sell - including Marmite & PG Tips (2 staple items in my diet Grin ). Tesco say they will not buy from them at the increased price. Suspect that Tesco will use this as an excuse to only stock own brand versions of stuff. But then I fucking hate Tesco & believe they couldn't give a shiny shite about their customers still haven't forgiven the large one near me of only stocking own brand Weetabix. I try not to shop there, so as long as Waitrose keep stocking Marmite I don't care Grin

What a bugger mouse Sad - if it's her decision to leave I doubt you'd have grounds to complain, the school can't make her stay and may not have known she was going to leave when you were offered the place. Not sure what the notice period would be for her, for teachers it's usually half a term.

Have some winter warmers everyone

MadamedeChevreuse · 13/10/2016 20:31

Hooded bloke - also would.

Love a bit of Venice too.

FancyFancy · 13/10/2016 20:43

x-post with madame re Tesco. Surely if Unilever up their prices, then Tesco just passes that cost onto the customer & raises their's? As does every food retailer as everyone's costs will rise.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/10/2016 21:08

Isn't that the guy from OC?

MadamedeChevreuse · 13/10/2016 21:20

Yes ww! It is indeed. I always preferred the other bloke in the OC but hey....

fancy I think tesco thinks, not worth stocking cos no one will buy them. People will just switch to cheaper brands till those prices rise too

Products with many imported raw materials - ie most things - going to get well expensive.

Doubt everything else will be far behind unilever - this is just the beginning.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2016 21:24

#Marmitegate is over apparently, but not before there were lots of fun jokes about it

OP posts:
MadamedeChevreuse · 13/10/2016 21:35

Oh phew - the nation can buy tea again and teresa cuntface heaves a sigh of relief. for now Grin

This is also funny...

www.thepoke.co.uk/2016/10/13/marmitegate-the-13-funniest-twitter-reactions/

FancyFancy · 13/10/2016 22:18

Well that's why it's so pointless - everyone's prices will go up Confused. Surely all tea is imported, so prices will rise across the board & price differentials will be maintained? And I already know I can buy cheaper tea than PG, I just like it. And frankly I'd sell my children rather than run out of Marmite Grin. It just feels like a big publicity stunt by Tesco to make them look like they're standing up for their customers. You know, the ones they duped into eating horsemeat a few years ago. Hmm

What a storm in a teacup. Badoom tish

I'll get me coat......

Grin
FancyFancy · 13/10/2016 22:20

Those twitter reactions are priceless madame Grin

Comtess · 13/10/2016 22:32

Hey everyone

What a week! Twinnos birthdays and holiday days out. Exhausted!!

Mouse so sorry about your SALT situ. Such a shame. Definitely needs a meeting ASAP.

Have been reading the whole Marmite situ in The Guardian. Luckily I have a massive jar here which I can post back if required. We tried Vegemite as part of Aussie settling in. It's horrible. I used to fucking hate Tescos. I'm afraid I was ALWAYS a naice Waitrose shopper on basis that if I bought mostly Essential Waitrose the price of shop almost exactly same as Tesco but the products were nicer. Plus deliv was free. And I liked my free coffee and paper. I miss it actually. Waitrose and JL obviously. And not just because of lovely TB lamp fantasies when shopping there. Although if they got Tom to voiceover the Christmas ad I think they'd be quids in.

Ooof about Poldark and the stockings. It's all in the eyes with that AH. Lush. Really enjoyed it.

FancyFancy · 13/10/2016 22:35

OMFG wenches - I have found the perfect mugs thanks to another thread

this one?

or this one?

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2016 22:36

Nothing useful to add to what the wenches have said Mouse, but many more cwtches heading your way.

I suspect you're right Fancy - Tesco getting publicity for being a hero for the little people. Not falling for it Tesco.

Hope you're soon feeling better Madame.

Where's Badderz been today?

I'm on my second NCIS of the night. I'm hoping to dream of being thoroughly and vigorously interrogated by Gibbs Grin
