Check and double check before believing their verified dates. I've booked a holiday after looking at their published dates and it turns out they were incorrect. They've not had the courtesy of replying to my calls or emails either!

I'm not expecting any replies, this is just a word of warning.

OP posts:

Always wrong for DD1's school, which is American/international and is never the same as local schools. Pretty crap website, really.

SoupDragon · 03/09/2016 08:16

I wonder what award the "award winning website" won?

An NN says schools HAVE to have a website as there is a statutory requirement to publish certain policies online.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just look at the school's own website in the majority of cases. Do so many people have different DC in different schools that they need a site like this? I mean an accurate version of course Wink

NNChangeAgain · 03/09/2016 08:18

I would like to see the business on Dragons Den. So it can be explained fully.

No mystery.

Set up a database of inaccurate school term dates, sell advertising on the page based on number of hits. Publicise the inaccuracy of the site on chat forums, and sock puppet a half hearted defence tapping into the social phenomenon of the "baying mob" wanting to prove the website wrong.

Watch the advertising revenue roll in.

Close website. Repeat.

Looks like a pretty successful model to me !

WindInThePussyWillows · 03/09/2016 08:19

Jeeeeez what a belligerent

blinkowl · 03/09/2016 08:20

DS's school also incorrect. It says they start back on tues but it's weds. LEA verified apparently.

SvalbardianPenguin · 03/09/2016 08:20

Poor Jason, not only is his site wrong for the schools I know but I also have an adblocker so I haven't seen any of the adverts either :)

PatMullins · 03/09/2016 08:20

Wrong here too, pathetic.

Sockpuppeting too, really?

lovelyupnorth · 03/09/2016 08:20

Why would you not just check the school or Lea site rather than relying on a 3rd party one. Would put that down to your own stupidity OP.

WindInThePussyWillows · 03/09/2016 08:20

Jeeeeez what a belligerent first response from Jason, appalling customer service and then to read the whole thread, including the introduction of Jason's second account.. Wow Biscuit

DramaInPyjamas · 03/09/2016 08:21

Both schools (primary and secondary, Scotland) and not even listed on his website.

Sparklingbrook · 03/09/2016 08:21

But would anyone invest NN? Grin

TeaRexit · 03/09/2016 08:22

I always check our council website.

LaContessaDiPlump · 03/09/2016 08:23

I think you've got it in one, NNchangeagain.

Stop helping Jason raise revenue, people! You're playing into his hands!!

TeaRexit · 03/09/2016 08:25

Im going shopping for socks.

AnthonyPandy · 03/09/2016 08:26

I have never seen a bunch of mumsnetters be so mean to someone. There are bound to be loads of people for whom the dates are right.

Helllooooooo?????

I said there must be loads of you for whom the dates are correct??????

GrinGrinGrin

My dates are wrong too.

I haven't actually checked but based on everyone else's experience I am confident my dates are wrong

Leslieknope45 · 03/09/2016 08:27

Wrong for the school I work at!

miwelaisjacydo · 03/09/2016 08:28

Wrong for me too but not all of them.

Brokenbiscuit · 03/09/2016 08:28

It's actually rather shocking that this site may be taking money from advertisers - they're being utterly duped! And as pps have said, we're not helping as we're increasing traffic to the site...

SoupDragon · 03/09/2016 08:31

Publicise the inaccuracy of the site on chat forums, and sock puppet a half hearted defence tapping into the social phenomenon of the "baying mob" wanting to prove the website wrong.

The slight flaw is that the OP has posted since last August.

lovelyupnorth · 03/09/2016 08:33

The award for most pointless website goes too.......
