omg did she do it herself It will regrow.

foxinsocks · 26/01/2007 19:30

ah, did someone find the scissors?

Carmenere · 26/01/2007 19:30

Sorry for laughing but did Hunkey Dory Jnr have a go at home hairdressing?

foxinsocks · 26/01/2007 19:31

I would cut off those straggly bits (in the middle) so it's all the same length then tie the rest of the hair back for school and you'll hardly notice

compo · 26/01/2007 19:31

Oh dear!!
Tahe her to the hairdresser tomorrow and see what they suggest

hunkeydorey · 26/01/2007 19:31

I feel like killing her. She had been sent upstairs for being horrible to ds and decided to pay me back by cutting her bloody fringe off. She's taken a big chunk out of the side as well. It isn't the first time she's done it either.

oh dear, well it could be worse, friend of mines dd (5 at the time) found the litchen scissors and cut HUGE chunks out of her hairall over her head........and her little sisters........................and the curtains

they had to have their heads practically shaved

Mistymoo · 26/01/2007 19:32

A friend's dd did this to her sister, it was all over the head though. She ended up getting a VERY choppy hair cut but it looked pretty good.

ComeOVeneer · 26/01/2007 19:33

DD found scissors when she was 2.5 (having just had her first real haircut intoa short neat bob and cut from the fringe to just behind her ear on one side (after the shock I was thankful she hadn't sniped off the top of her ear), and because of how slow her hair grows it only caught up a few months ago (she turned 5 a couple of weeks ago).

Kbear · 26/01/2007 19:33

Oh crapola, that's going to start a new trend in ultra short fringes.

ja9 · 26/01/2007 19:34

could you get a fuller fringe cut that the wee stubby bits could hide in? [hopeful emotion]

Greensleeves · 26/01/2007 19:34

I can't find it, can someone do a link?

misdee · 26/01/2007 19:34

oh blimey. that is extreme.

take her to a hairdressers tomorrow.

Roobie · 26/01/2007 19:35

Oh dear! Could she wear one of those stretchy hairbands for a while? Quite a good look at the moment

LucyJones · 26/01/2007 19:36

If it's not the first time she's done it and she did it to be deliberately naughty I'd be a mean mummy and leave it!!! How old is she?

SoupDragon · 26/01/2007 19:36

If she did it to pay you back for something, I'd make her live with it til it grows back. I wouldn't do anything to sort it out.

mamama · 26/01/2007 19:38

At least she did it to her own hair...

I think I'd take her to the hairdressers. Or leave it until her friends have seen it. It might discourage her from doing it again. But then I'm mean...

nutcracker · 26/01/2007 19:39

Oh dear.

Dd2 has done this twice but not quite as badly as that.

My friends dd though had lovely long blonde hair and cut the whole of the left side off, right up to her scalp more or less.

ItsMeMellowma · 26/01/2007 19:41

I done this at nursery....I was in bridesmaid 3 weeks after ...

WigWamBam · 26/01/2007 19:42

I was going to suggest the hairdressers for some damage limitation but as it was deliberately done to spite you, I'd let her live with what she's done - at least for a few days.
