Alice band. One of those thick stretchy ones. I would have it tidied up by a hairdresser and then put a band in it for school until it grows back. It won't take long, honestly!!

Greensleeves · 26/01/2007 19:49

Oh, that profile... I was hunting through Member Profiles....

Sorry, I had to get everyone in bed.

It does look awful doesn't it? Dd is 5 and she has been a stroppy little madam all day, this was her final parting shot. I did shout at her quite a bit and I think she is realising what she has done, as she spent about half an hour in the bathroom, making it wet and trying to stretch it.

I have managed to get a hairdressers appointment for tomorrow. Not sure what they will be able to do though, her hair is very fine as she has eczema on her scalp. I have told her that she has to pay for the hair cut though from her bank account, do you think that's too mean? She's also lost all of her pasta from her jar.

She is so bloody contrary though, she just doesn't really care.

it was v naughty of her but dont go too overboard punishing her... sha may see it as a challengse as to what you'll do if she does something even worse! (if she as stubborn as my ds2)

hunkeydorey · 26/01/2007 21:30

You don't think I should make her pay then? Actually I have no idea how to get money out of her bank account, I've only ever paid in before.

controlfreaky2 · 26/01/2007 22:46

well, she's only 5 and after all she's the one who'll have to live with the consequences of her actions..... rubbish hair and loads of people saying "oh no what's happened to your lovely hair??". taking money from her bank account will prob mean v little to her at 5. if you dont want to pay for hairdresser diy it as best you can.... that'll learn her

madmarchhare · 26/01/2007 22:51

headband required from shops on way back from hairdressers

hunkeydorey · 26/01/2007 22:56

You know I'd forgotten about it for a minute and then I saw the photo. I feel like crying. Maybe, i'll just let her think she has paid for it. Although I'm not sure how I'm going to pay for it myself.

You poor thing! And poor her. Kids do these things before they think of the consequences. I wonder if she feels worse about it than she lets on? My mum saw kids do this and be defiant little madams with their parents, but sob on her shoulder for what they'd done to themselves.

My mum was a hairdresser btw and rescued worse than this. It can eiher be evened up as people say, or if she has enough hair (you said it was thing?) they might be able to make a choppy layered fringe thing out of it.

Sorry for you!

hunkeydorey · 27/01/2007 09:55

I think the realisation of what she has done has sunk in this morning. She has decided that she isn't leaving the house, I told her that she could wear a hat!

Will post an after photo later.

mytwopenceworth · 27/01/2007 10:57

am i the most cruel person in the world - because i would not do anything. no hairdresser, no alice band, no hat no nothing. AND i'd make her go to school. and i'd just say you did it. actions have consequenses, maybe next time you have a tantrum you'll think before you act. i really would!

SherlockLGJ · 27/01/2007 11:10

This is not the first time.

I would make an appointment for Monday after school.

Let her go to school and deal with the consequences.

If it was the first time, I would agree with an appointment today, but she appears to using her hair as a way of getting at you.

Agree with MTPW

hunkeydorey · 27/01/2007 11:31

The last time was slightly different, her and her friend cut each others hair, I posted a photo at the time.

My mum turned up just now and laughed and now dd is hiding under my computer table. I know I should tough it out and send her into school like it, but I feel she is at a disadvantage anyway, she has eczema and is little and skinny and already stands out like a sore thumb.

SoupDragon · 27/01/2007 11:31

No way would I get it sorted out before she'd had to live with it for a bit! It won't hurt her.

God help BabyDragon should she do anything like this, I'm an evil mother!

filthymindedvixen · 27/01/2007 11:50

you could dye it black and plait it...

er, like this!

(I hacked off my bum-length golden blonde hair with nail scissors when i was 5 - spent many years with a very short 'boy's' style subsequently...)

suzycreamcheese · 27/01/2007 12:16

cant help with hair ideas..apart from short crop i guess

but really LOVE the photo, her expresssion, its just priceless..worth it for that imo i would frame this one...

ja9 · 27/01/2007 20:14

well.... how did the haircut go? can't wait to see the next photo!

hunkeydorey · 27/01/2007 21:31

Well it doesn't look a lot different surprisingly. My batteries are flat on my camera but I will put them on charge.

I've uploaded another picture now. She was a nightmare when we went to the hairdressers, she wouldn't let him see what she had done, how he managed to cut it is anyone's guess!

SherlockLGJ · 27/01/2007 22:01
